The paranormal has a way of creeping up on the least prepared. For Faith Luvena it strolls through the doors of the flower shop where she works. The pale gentleman has a dark allure around him that draws her to him and draws out a hidden, lustful animal within her. She decides to follow him into the shadows of the night, and her decision leads her from the highest society to the darkest alleys of the city, and among the undead. Undead that have every intention of making her permanently dead.

I just don't even know what to think about this one. It's a short nine chapter read, so I expected things to move quickly. They did. But I'm honestly not even sure how half the stuff happened and how it all flowed together. It seems like this should have been turned into a longer work for it to be enjoyable. Faith Luvena works in a flower shop. Simon Crour comes in and instantly has an interest in her (yes, like instantly...to the point he spends hundreds on flowers to be delivered and even insists that Faith delivers a boquet to his place...after gaining the approval of her jerky boss). Of course, Simon is a very rich vampire of over 500 years old. There's some things about stolen jewelry and it seems that Simon is likely the thief but that's never solved or spoken about after a few mentions. There are fledglings that come from somewhere to create trouble with Simon (but we don't know why they're even there). Needless to say, he bites her at a party he asks her to go with him too as he'd already researched her dress size to have one waiting for her when she delivered flowers. Very odd novella.
A florist shop worker is approached by a strangely dressed man, who buys many hundreds of dollars worth of roses. The only catch is, he demands she deliver the flowers or he will cancel the entire order. When she delivers the flowers, he won't let her leave without attending a party with him. At said party, she realizes he is a jewel thief and a vampire. He bites and drinks too much of her, and she will now become a vampire. Will she stay with him and learn to be a vampire, or will she stand out in the sun and end her undead life? This series is off to a very interesting start, and I will be reading more of it as I find it.
I really liked this vampire romance between Simon and faith and how they meet is her working in a flower shop and loved that Simon gave faith some jewellery and a gown go to posh graduating party for the wealthy. And faith finds out that Simon is a vampire and he turns her into a vampire. Love the spicy scenes between Simon and faith but not a fan of the other vampires that faith runs into or her boss from the flower shop and love that this was a quick spicy read. And it’s a little bit spicy at the end with Simon and faith and there is some jewellery being stolen as well from the rich people.

Very good but I dislike when the author starts a story and makes you pay to read into it more. Just my opinion. I feel alot of these series on google are a whole book split up I to smaller portion and leave off in odd places.
Very good but I dislike when the author starts a story and makes you pay to read into it more. Just my opinion. I feel alot of these series on google are a whole book split up I to smaller portion and leave off in odd places. I'd rather just purchase one whole book.
There is a story here but none of it is thought all the way through. You don't get answers to all the whys. I dont think this story was meant to be a short story, it needs so much more. Then there was the top hat and cane hahahahahahaha, you're sitting there laughing at that when its not supposed to be funny. And the extra characters, for such vapid people, why is he spending all this time with them. Ugh.
THIS IS THE FIRST BOOK THAT I READ FROM THIS AUTOR AND I AM ADDING HIM TO ONE OF MY FAVORITES. THIS BOOK IS THE FIRST OF THIS SERIES AND I WILL EVENTUALLY READ THE NEXT ONE. HOWEVER, AFTER I READ THIS BOOK, I STARTED READING ANOTHER SERIES OF THIS AUTHOR. THIS AUTHOR JUMPS INTO THE PLOT AND DOESN'T DRAG ON AND ON LIKE OTHER BOOKS. THE DOWN FALL OF THIS BOOK IS THAT IT IS VERY SHORT. I READ IT IN ABUT 2 HOURS OR SO.
I can understand the frustration with the book especially if you had questions about certain aspects that were not answered in the first installment. Short and sweet. The girl had some feisty to her. But that whole running into danger thing threw me. Just stay in the car. Not. Hard.
I've read and enjoyed several of Miss Flynn's books. Blood Thief is interesting and kept me reading but I felt the story was rushed. Would like to read a more developed version of this story. Look forward to reading the next book in this series. It may answer the questions I have from this story.
Interesting. "I don't know if I should envy or pity you, Harold." He’s homeless and has two blankets…. Who says this to a homeless person???????????
“My mind knew nothing but thoughts of him. ” He creeped you out yesterday, turned you into a vampire today & then you cried in his arms and now you say this?? Girl stand up.
I love vampire books and this author seems to produce some great little series that are perfect for me to read on lunch at work. This book was really good and I can't wait to see what else the series has in store!
Another one of those romances where a powerful ancient being falls madly for a smart mouthed, slang talking, graceless airhead. It's just no believable. In romance we want to envy the MC. Yet if she is someone we detest, it falls apart.
Quick read but not believable. Add in grammatical errors and puzzling choices by both Simon and Faith without much explanation or reasoning and this book falls short for me.
I really love this book. I am a fan of the supernatural. Vampires are my favorite follow by the werewolves. I am loving Mac Flynn books. Please continue with the great writing that you do.
It was love at first sight. Day one meet, day two declarations of love. Day three I must read the next book to find out. This book is short story. But I'll read next one.
A some what creepy read, love both the plot and characters. Simon just oozes danger! The tension builds up then leaves you on a cliff hanger of sorts... Where is this all going to end up? who knows.
I enjoyed this story it was exciting, and you didn't know what was going to happen next. I wanted it to go on longer. I will look for more of these stories for sure.
