Adventures with Andy & Susie tells the story of Andy, a little boy, and his cat Susie during a weekend. From Susie's point of view, they discover and explore, with a touch of fantasy.
The illustrations are lovely and the story has some cool rhymes.
Kids are going to love it.

I won a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway, but all opinions are my own.

It is a Victorian-inspired steampunk book for kids and we see through the eyes of Susie, the cat.
I absolutely loved the illustrations, made by the author herself. The fact that Andy's friend Katie was in a wheelchair without making a theme about it made the book feel very inclusive, which is important for kids. I also liked that the story was mainly in rhyme.
The amount of times quotation marks were used had me a bit confused though. I am not a native English speaker so I might be mistaken, but I had the feeling they weren't always needed. And at one point there's the phrase: "We had better start picking in this glow while it last." and whilst the use of 'last' instead of 'lasts' might be deliberate so it would rhyme better with 'fast', it threw me off.

All in all pretty enjoyable.

(Note: I won this book in Goodreads Giveaway, thanks to author and publisher.)

This is short illustrated children's story, narrated by Susie-a cat. Susie is living with Andy's family, waiting for his friend Andy to return home for weekends and planning to go on adventure.

This is very nice small book. Illustrations are eye-catching. Parents will love to read it to their children as bed time story. I loved cat in this book. Storyline is really nice. The story is in rhymes that every children would love to hear. Children would love to read and explore colorful pages of the book.

I was a lucky goodreads giveaway winner of this nicely done children's book. I would give this book a 4.5. The Adventures with Andy and Susie: a Stormy Weekend" is a victorian age sci-fi. It is seen through the eyes of Susie a cat and her human child friend "Andy" Susie waits for Andy to come home from school so they can go on Adventures. together with Andy's friend "Katie" they go out on a stormy Weekend. A very nice story. Liked it was seen though the eyes of Andy's cat Susie. I also that Katie, Andy's friend is in a wheelchair and they are pals. The illustrations are also very good. A nice children's story I think young children will enjoy and adults too.

I think this book is very well written, especially for kids. It can be read to children to put them to sleep. Simple, but extraordinary. Everyone finds a piece of themselves in and their time when they were kids and had their own adventures.

This is the first steampunk themed children's book I've ever seen, and I love it. I enjoy steampunk stories, as does my daughter-in-law, and I know both of us will enjoy sharing it with her son/my grandson when he gets older.

The story is about a boy and his cat, and the adventures they (and Andy's friend Katie, who has leg braces and a steam wheelchair) have one weekend. The beautiful illustrations show us the family's orchard, a neighboring farm, and the power plant where Katie's father works.

The text feels a little stilted at times, but that doesn't really interfere with the telling of the story. There is some suspense when Andy breaks a promise and finds himself in a predicament, but everything works out well in the end.

This is a wonderful book about a boy and his cat. When the boy returns home from school the cat expects them to go on an adventure. The story line is simple but complete and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. This is a book parents will enjoy reading to their children.

I won this book as a Goodreads giveaway. This is my honest review.

This is a heart warming and beautifully illustrated little book. I love it! Also, this book is the very first victorian age sci-fi children's book I have ever read.

We meet Andy, his cat Susie and Andy's friend Katie. Susie is the narrator and we see everything through her eyes. Together they go through a stormy and adventurous weekend. The detailed illustrations show us Andy's home, a lovely garden and the power plant.

Andy's friend Katie is in a wheelchair. However, it isn't really an issue. As a person with a disability, I really appreciate that. It's important to teach young children to respect and celebrate the differences in all people.

I'm sure children are going to love this book.

I am grateful to have received this book through a Goodreads Giveaway. Now that I have finished reading it, I intend to donate the book to the library I work at in order to add it to the collection.

Reading the dedication, about remembering childhood adventures, I think this book succeeds at presenting an awesome story that combines childhood imagination with play, making an amazing adventure for the main character and her human! The pictures are a joy to look at and are rather whimsical yet descriptive. I enjoy the poetic verse instead of pure prose that tells the story. An excellent book for young children!

This book is a real little treasure. I won it on a Goodreads Giveaway, and I intend to give it to my 6-year-old grand nephew, who lives in Ireland. The illustrations are wonderful for the genre and the quality of the book is outstanding! A terrific little adventure story that anyone would be proud to give as a gift. It's the kind of children's book that should be passed down to the next generation. Thank you to Donna Hall for creating it!

I won this wonderful children's book from Goodreads Giveaways. This is a gorgeously illustrated and all around beautiful book. Full of those great nooks and crannies details that make for multiple reads. The storyline is compelling and satisfying and the characters are more fully realized than characters typically found in a children's book . This is one of the few children's books I enjoy the reading of as much as the reading to someone else. Highly recommended. Five stars.

This is the first international delivery. And i got quite psyched even though it was a children's book, yet I love it. The text might be stilted at places but doesn't really bother much. An honest opion would be that though I am overaged to read this but still I dont mind reading children's stories. And I can even say this that I am going to keep this lovely book safe as a memento for eternity (sic). I will recommend this books to every kid I meet. Thank you.

I was a lucky goodreads giveaway winner of this children's book. It is a nicely done book with gorgeous illustrations and good story line. Told from the cat's-susie-point of view, she narrates andy's adventures. This book is really good for children because it can show that animal-or cat in this case-have feelings too.

Thank you to Goodreads and Donna Hall for gifting me this book to read.

Adventures with Andy and Susie is a fun children's book.
It is told from the view point of Susie (the cat) as her best friend Andy (the human) is home to visit his parents for the weekend.
Lots of adventures and places to explore are all done it an easy to read rhyme.
The book flows along from page to page with new things to discover each time you read the book.

The illustrations are bright and colourful and full of so many little treasures.

A great fun read for all.

This was a cute book, beautifully illustrated for sure and ok for young elementary readers. The author sometines was on one rhyming schematic and would switch or go off it. I personally find it made the story slightly fragmented-sounding, at least. Overall it was cute and I think young children would like it and the colorful pictures. Oh, and I really liked the Nikola Tessla quote included in one of the illustrations!

I got this book in a Goodreads draw. It's good, it's a little choppy in some parts and I find the font looks a little odd with the illustrations. I love the illustrations!!! I really like how most of it rhymes. I can't wait for my brother to have kids so I can read this to them!

Kindle Unlimited, but actually got it free, in hardback, through a goodreads giveaway. Usually read things on kindle for pc because of sight issues, but this was not a long book {reasonable length, not real short either} and the illustrations were really nice. Will be giving this to my grandchildren.

I received this book through a giveaway - thank you! My opinion is my own.
This book is very cute! My boys love that this is written from the cat's point of view. The pictures are absolutely amazing and the story has a good message. The only complaint my seven year old had was that he felt the crisis was too short.

I received this as a lucky winner of a Goodreads giveaway. A lovely story of Susie the cat, and her owner Andy who comes home for the weekend, and the adventures they get up to. My almost 5-year-old loves it and asks me to read it to her every evening.

The illustrations in this book are perfect. They draw you right into the story. Susie, the cat, narrates the book. The story is about a weekend. Katie has an awesome steam powered wheelchair, so much fun. Andy gets trapped in a storm and a tree falls so Susie and Andy must be rescued by his parents. I read this book several times and it was just as enjoyable each time.
I received a copy of the book.
