Four beautiful days. Three steamy nights. One breathtaking love.

Levi Michaelson. He wanted four dates. Four opportunities to prove I could trust him. Four chances to change my mind about him.

I agreed.

Probably not my smartest decision. He was everything I knew to avoid—gorgeous, charming, sexy as hell—but I couldn’t help myself. When he touched me the whole world disappeared. I should’ve known I could lose myself to him, that he could be the one man to destroy me.

I guess it’s true what they say—some things are too good to be true. And Levi Michaelson might just be one of them.

Unzip this sexy, southern contemporary romance that’s guaranteed to make you sweat and make you swoon!

Standalone. HEA. Intended for mature readers.

This was my second book I’ve read by this author this year and while I didn’t love it as much as the first one, I really, really enjoyed! 'Levi’s Blue' was that kind of read that sucks you in from the beginning, that kind of read that gives you so many feels capturing your heart more and mre with every single chapter, that kind of read that tells a unique, beautiful love story that will stay with you for a while. 'Levi’s Blue' was emotional and captivating, but it also was filled with steam and banter.

“Something about her draws me. Like gravity or a magnet. Or the warmth of a fire on a cold winter's night.”

Evie is a talented artist. Her paintings mean everything for her. They bring her joy and happiness, but they also make her forget about her past. At the opening night of her first art show Evie meets a sweet, mysterious stranger named Levi. She is drawn to him from the moment they meet, fascinating her like no other man before. Evie is special and over the years she learned the hard way that most men aren’t up for the challenge - dating her. While Levi seems clearly interested in her, she’s reluctant not only to accept that she found someone who wants more than a simple friendship with her, but also to give dating and maybe love a chance.

“I stopped believing love would find me a long time ago, so it’s not like I was looking for someone, searching for a man.”

Levi convinces Evie to give him a chance and they agree to four dates, four dates for Levi to prove himself, four dates that will change everything about them, who they are and what they want.

description

“This woman…she brings something in me to life. Like a part of me has been dead, or at least dormant, up to now.”

'Levi’s Blue' was a wonderful, emotional story that gripped me from the very first chapter and one of the reasons I was so engrossed in this story was the author’s beautiful writing. Mrs. Leighton always chooses the right words to create emotion in a reader. The multitude of emotion-evoking scenes here were wonderfully done and the realistic problems the characters confronted with will make many readers relate with the two main characters.

Evie and Levi’s story was sweet and fun, but also heartbreaking at times. I enjoyed how layered the plot was and how with every chapter we learn more and more about these two main characters. Both of them were fantastically developed, relatable and so endearing.

“You’re like a brilliant flash of lightning. Brilliant. You set everything you touch on fire. You make it beautiful. You give it color, make it feel alive. You make me feel alive.”

Evie was a heroine I deeply sympathize with. I adored her and I totally loved her strength, determination and tenacity. She was sweet, funny, entertaining and so very kind. Levi was a wonderful hero! I absolutely loved his portrayal. He charmed me from the start with his sweet and funny/sexy side and the protective way he was with Evie was so heartwarming. I fell deeply for him, for his kindness and consideration, for his thoughtfulness and tenderness, for the way he made Evie feel as the story unfolded – happy, free and so worthy.

“I want these walls to hear the sounds you make when I bury my body inside you. And I want to look down into your face when I make you lose it in my bed. Because in here, you're mine. All mine.”

description

I loved the sizzling chemistry between these two characters. They were perfection between the sheets. I loved this aspect of the story, the intensity and passion between them, the perfectly way the complemented each other in and also out of bed. Their relationship progressed in a very natural way and I enjoyed the slow burn between them. While most of the twists as the story unfolded were predictable, I really enjoyed Evie and Levis’ journey to happiness.

“Levi’s blue.
That will forever be the color of happiness in my mind."

All in all, 'Levi’s Blue' was another great read by M. Leighton. If you are looking for a wonderfully done emotional story, then you have to read this one!

He's what I can't have and what I wish for, what I should reach toward and what I should run from.
He's everything I shouldn't risk, yet here I am risking everything.

Truth be told I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this book. All I knew is that I was intrigued by that blurb and I had to read it. M. Leighton always creates some of the most memorable alpha males. I read Down to You years ago, and I still remember every detail of the book.

Levi's Blue is unlike any other book I've read by this author. It was captivating and emotional. It was a beautiful story of love and second chances. The pacing is slow and steady, the character development is rich and flowing, and the story well and truly unforgettable.
Something about her draws me. Like gravity or a magnet. Or the warmth of a fire on a cold winter's night.

Evian de Champlain is a talented artist. She's beautiful, sweet, and self-depreciating in a way that makes you just click with her. At the opening night on her art show, she quite literally falls into the arms of a handsome stranger. She knows nothing of Levi except that something about him simply draws her to him. Evie has been hurt by men in the past and isn't quick to trust, so when this handsome man asks for four dates to prove that he's different, she's reluctant to believe him but can't help but take him up on the offer.
I should run. I know I should run. But I know that I won't. I know that without a doubt, too. Because some things are worth hurting over. I just hope Levi is one of them.

Theirs was a relationship that was a slow burn. It's filled with humor and a connection that burns with the sizzle of sexual chemistry until becoming downright explosive.
I want to see you come on the sheets I sleep on. I want these walls to hear the sounds you make when I bury my body inside you. And I want to look down into your face when I make you lose it in my bed. Because in here, you're mine. All mine.

Little by little you learn more and more about Evie and her past. She's not one of those tough and ballsy heroines, but there's this silent undercurrent of strength to her anyway. She was incredibly endearing and I loved the way she could stand her own even to the cattiest and meanest of people.

Levi was absolute perfection. He's sweet and sexy and so protective of Evie. I loved watching him fall more and more for her, even though through everything, he remains mostly a mystery. You know he's hiding something but it's not until much later that the puzzle pieces begin to click together.

The writing was absolutely phenomenal. It had a lyrical quality to it but without the cheesy aspect that a lot of descriptive writing can get sometimes.
I'm thinking you could be the end of me. The bright, beautiful firework that ends me. That sets me on fire. The flame that burns a brilliant blue and gold and white at the center of me.
"I don't want to be the end of you. I want to be the beginning."

I have to admit I struggled a bit with the first half of the book. Perhaps the pacing was a bit slow to start or maybe I just didn't connect to the story until the second half, but I found my interest waning at parts. But when that second half began to unravel? Man oh man, I was riveted to the pages, just waiting to see what happens next.

If you're looking for a romance that's different from the norm, beautifully written, and a story you won't soon forget, then Levi's Blue needs to be on your TBR!

Blinded by an accident, Evian de Champlain once a photographer, now a painter, meets the sexy and charming Levi Michaelson. Levi pushes Evie to give him four dates to show her he is capable of dating a blind woman and that they could have something special between them.

”Levi Michaelson. He wanted four dates. Four opportunities to prove I could trust him. Four chances to change my mind about him. I agreed.”

description

Levi and Evie’s fall is well paced while being sexy and sweet. Though his family ‘friend’ Julianna is an annoyance in the story and Levi’s handling of her is moronic.

”She tried to use my father, her father, and once even a pregnancy scare to coerce me into taking our relationship to the next level. I always made it clear it wasn’t happening. I really thought it was part of her game, that she knew there was no future for us. Clearly, I was wrong. Up to now, she’s always been pretty harmless.”

description

The story has predictable twists (perhaps because I’ve read several stories that have followed this outline). I also found it slightly on the slow/boring side yet well written.

”She brought out something in me. Something real. Around her, I’m the me I want to be.”

description

The ending was VERY sweet (minus the exit of Julianna which felt like a villain in Scooby Doo’s exit) and overall the author’s writing is solid and vivid.

”Levi’s blue…

A literary masterpiece where every facet of details, raw emotions, and beauty are captured by the stroke of M.Leighton’s stunning and heartfelt prose. M.Leighton has once again treated her readers to a story where life, beauty, sadness, and happiness are splashed onto a canvas in her latest new release, Levi’s Blue.

photo 0cfb21f413b1ee25e6dd92113faa59_zpsxvjeq5vv.gif “Watching her, it’s easy to see that Evian is a woman completely without pretense. Everything about her is untouched. Her china doll skin is flawless, her clear brown eyes are wide and free of makeup, her blonde hair is straight and shiny, and there’s not a drop of guile in her expression.”

Levi’s Blue is one of those reads where you cannot reveal too much because the driving force of this book are its characters. Trust me when I tell you that this book is an experience. It is an unforgettable journey where love, vulnerability, excitement, sadness, and love adds color to a blank canvas.

#LevisBlues

Evie is a talented artist. Her paintings are her life, breath, and the essence of her happiness. They are also a way for her to deal with her pain and hurt. But what happens when she meets a young man who also wants to add a splash of color in her life? When Evie met Levi, she is very hesitant of him because she knew what it was like to be hurt and disappointed in the past and so Levi suggest four dates to prove that he is unlike any other guy that she dated in the past. Well within those four dates, Evie began to see the real Levi. The man who can easily bring color to her dull existence and bring beauty, happiness, hope, and love from all angles. So will Evie and Levi be painting a masterpiece of love or a blank canvas?

photo 0cfb21f413b1ee25e6dd92113faa59_zpsxvjeq5vv.gif “Suddenly, like sun breaking through clouds, I realize what it is, and what it can be. Something fresh and beautiful— simple, uncomplicated attraction. Nothing more, nothing less. No pressure. No motives. Just attraction.”

#LevisBlue

I will say it again and again, M. Leighton has done it again. She has beautifully crafted an original raw and beautiful story where love transcends all boundaries. Levi’s Blue was a visceral, touching masterpiece where a blank canvas was easily splashed with color, beauty, and life. This is a story where brokenness, baggage, and sadness are shattered and erased. M. Leighton makes you see and feel the hope and love in a whole new shade of color. More specifically in Levi's Blue.

Title: Levi's Blue
Series: Standalone
Author: M. Leighton
Release date: September 19, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

Levi's Blue is the kind of book that has so many layers to it that you never stop peeling them away. I couldn't get enough, couldn't stop reading. Going in, I thought that this was going to be a bit of a fluffy, feel-good kind of light romance. Yes, there was tons of delightful banter that made my cheeks hurt from smiling, but that wasn't the defining emotion of the book. There was such a solid and riveting story underneath it all that I was blown away. M. Leighton's writing was absolutely brilliant, this was by far my favorite book by her.

Evie is an artist and she meets Levi at her first art show. There's an immediate attraction, and though he makes it very clear that he wants to get to know her better, she's not sure she wants to take a risk on him. She's been hurt before by well-meaning men and she's not willing to get rejected again. But she didn't account for Levi and how dead-set he was at changing her mind.

I should run. I know I should run. But I know that I won't. I know that without a doubt, too. Because some things are worth hurting over. I just hope Levi is one of them.

Evie promises him four dates. Four chances to prove to her that he means business and show her he's not intimidated by her limitations. I loved this part of the book. These two were absolutely adorable how they teased each other and so witty. I loved seeing Levi's admiration for her grow into awe at everything she overcame and accomplished. He couldn't have been more supportive or tender with her and she slowly began to realize that he wasn't the type who scared away easily.

As sweet and protective as Levi is, he has one heck of a dirty side to him. Holy...HELL did these two have insane chemistry. The first time they were together I don't think I could fully catch my breath for a solid five minutes. HOT doesn't even begin to cover it, Levi was confident, possessive, and everything you could ask for in a hero.

I want these walls to hear the sounds you make when I bury my body inside you. And I want to look down into your face when I make you lose it in my bed. Because in here, you're mine. All mine.

Even though the two of them meet and grow very close pretty quickly, I believed in them every step of the way. Their feelings never felt rushed to me or artificial. Though, from very early on, it's clear that Levi is holding parts of himself back from her and the reveal will be a bombshell with disastrous results. And boy, was I right. To be honest, I had a pretty good idea what he was hiding but I was still hit strongly with the twist. The damage seems irreparable, but once again, Levi proves that he will do anything and everything it takes to hold onto the woman he loves.

You showed me everything. Color, beauty, life. Love. My world is nothing without you in it.

The groveling!!! It was...delicious! Ladies, if you love a good grovel look no further. This man proved time and time again that if he needed to get down on his knees and beg, he would do it in a heartbeat. Evie was no pushover and she didn't make it easy for him. He had to work to gain her trust and that's exactly what he did.

I'm not even coming close to explaining what this book has to offer, but hopefully you'll get yourself a copy and see for yourselves how incredible it is. M. Leighton has really outdone herself, her writing was so eloquent and devastating on every one of your senses. She showed us the world through Evie's wonderous perspective. I guarantee you will be so moved by how she sees the world. Read this book!

Levi's Blue is undeniably breathtaking! This magnificent story has an inexplicable way of capturing your thoughts and emotions, ensnaring your attention, and refusing to release you until the very end.

The book is so utterly unique, and one I've never read before. I was intrigued immediately with the characters, and fully invested in the real pain, joy and heartache that bled from the pages. The way this story weaved it's invisible arms around my raw emotions is nothing but brilliant. And the writing was absolutely superb...compelling you to view the world and everything around you with renewed and vibrant clarity.

Levi's Blue is a captivating, intense, and stunning MUST READ...an exceptional and passionate 5+ Stars!

Overall Opinion: This was an enjoyable read. It won't go down on my favorites shelf though, and I'm not quite sure exactly why it didn't fully click for me. I enjoyed both characters. I did feel like we could've gone a little deeper into the characterization, because for some reason I felt like we just skimmed the surface of who they were. Yes, the H messes up at one point. BUT he gives probably some of the best grovel I've ever read -- so I forgave him. There was a good bit of OW/ex f-buddy drama, but I'm not one that is usually too bothered by that so that wasn't a big issue for me. There were some times when the descriptions were a little too wordy for me, but I understood the need for it because she was blind. I did really enjoy the epilogue and I felt like we get an actual HEA. So overall, I enjoyed it but I didn't love it (or dislike it)...so just a little above "just ok" at 3.5 stars.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Evie and Levi's story. They met at Evie's art showing when she falls and needs his assistance. Levi is instantly drawn to her, and he pursues a relationship with her. She is extremely hesitant because she is blind and has been burned in the past, so she only agrees to 4 dates that Levi eagerly accepts. After spending more time together, they cannot deny their strong connection and fall in love. There are some sexy times, some sweet moments, a good bit of drama...but they do get a HEA ending.

POV: This alternated between Evie and Levi's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: Kind of. They only knew each other for only a short period of time, but it didn't feel like instalove to me.

H rating: 4 stars. Levi. I liked him. He messed up, but he gave really good grovel.

h rating: 4 stars. Evie. I liked her. She had a motto of "making the best lemonade" out of the bad things that have been thrown at her in life, so I really appreciated that mentality.

Sadness level: Low. I never needed any tissues.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Low/moderate. There weren't that many scenes, and some were not that descriptive. I felt like it worked for the style of the storytelling though.

Descriptive sex: Yes and no. Some scenes were an odd mix of descriptive foreplay and then fade-to-black.

Safe sex: Kind of. Mention of condoms and birth control. I don't remember any mention of previous practices or STD statuses.

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had good closure with a cute jump ahead epilogue and a HEA ending.

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: I'd call this one either Safe or Safe with exception depending on personal preferences.

BEAUTIFUL. We all say that word to describe something or someone we find absolutely stunning. Every now and then while reading, we might think of that very same word if the story is magically written and we literally stop and take a minute to breathe in the flawless words. This story was BEAUTIFUL. It was PASSIONATE and heartbreaking at times but you know what I loved the most? It was UNIQUE and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that.

"He is the calm in my storm, solid and steady and... comforting in an odd sort of way".

Evie is a brilliant artist that had her share of a tragedy thirteen years ago. The one thing that she loves to do is paint and while some people have other forms of therapy, painting became hers. It's theraputic for her, the colors, the brush strokes, creating something from a memory cleanses her soul and brings a calmness to her that is inexplainable. But she wasn't expecting was to meet a handsome stranger who would soon become the brightest color in her gray world.

Levi has never had a problem getting what he wants. He's handsome, successful, and just about the sweetest guy you'll ever meet. Meeting Evie at her very first gallery opening, he's instantly taken away with her. Her beauty, her poise, and their first encounter has him wanting to get to know her more. Buut Evie's had her share of let downs in the romance department and starting something new is not what she wants at the moment. So levi proposes a plan.

Four dates. That's all Levi wants to prove to Evie that he's a good man for her. All she has to do is say yes and whatever happens between them, whether they become the greatest love of each other lives or they crash and burn, at least they know they tried. Despite being hesitant, Evie decides to give him four dates. Keeping a few secrets of his own,Levi's past is about to come back and rear it's ugly head. Will it break them apart before they even get started?

"I'm thinking you could be the end of me. The bright, beautiful firework that ends me. That sets me on fire". The flame that Burns a brilliant blue and gold and white at the center of me

I loved Levi's and Evie's connection. They were passionate, but they took their time with each other and savored the world around them. Evie was such a strong heroine that you couldn't help but love her and root for her happiness with Levi. Their journey to that happiness certainly wasn't an easy one but they fought for it. And what good love story doesn't have a few bumps in the road? If you're looking for an emotional read, then this one is for you.

4.5 "I LOVE Levi and his Levi blue skies" stars!!

This story was chock full of feels. So many feels. I couldn't help but sympathize with Evie's (h) plight. As her story started to unfold, my compassion for her only grew. I cannot imagine what this must be like (sorry for being vague but I don't want to give away the plot), but the author created an incredibly fierce character that I couldn't help but like. Evie was beautiful, strong, talented, adaptable and a great maker of cold beverages.

Levi (H) ... I LOVED this character so much and despite (or maybe because of) his past and his past actions, he became a better man for Evie. He found the meaning of his life with her. Their relationship was so sweet, the banter was so witty, and their chemistry was so off-the-charts hot! What I loved the most about Levi was how far he was willing to go to achieve a HEA with Evie. I'm a real sucker for a man who knows how to humble himself for his woman.

Nothing. Better.

There was obviously some conflict and there were plenty of people I wanted to throat punch. *cough* Julianne *cough* M. Leighton even handled the angst in a way that made me love this couple even more. The story was beautifully written with amazing characters and the epilogue was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have imagined a better ending for these two.

A copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

P.S. In the acknowledgements, the author gave a link to John Bramblitt's work and it is remarkable. I'm not an art connoisseur or anything, but I do believe that his work is not only unique because he is blind, but it is better than a lot of what I've seen from those who CAN see. You should check it out: http://bramblitt.myshopify.com/

Evie meets Levi at an art gallery and they immediately hit it off but Evie hasn't had the best of luck with men. Levi doesn't give up though and somehow convinces her to give him four dates to win her over.

This book is a little different and I really enjoyed it. M. Leighton knows how to write a great love story (ahem, Cash) so I didn't hesitate in reading this book but I just wasn't prepared for the depth the story takes.

Evie is an artist and somehow M. Leighton has managed to draw you in and enfold you into the world of color. Everything seems brighter and more intense with the way she describes things...it heightens everything especially the feelings between Evie and Levi.

Levi is almost too good to be true. I LOVED getting his POV and reading about how he feels and how much Evie changes him...or just brings something out in him.

description

Unfortunately, not everything can be wonderful and you just know when you meet Julianne that she's trouble. Not content with just being Levi's friend with benefits, she has her sights and claws set on him and nothing is going to get in her way.

But...Levi has a few secrets and Julianne uses that to her full advantage and the truth comes out. Everything Levi worked for is gone...or is it?

I guess I should be used to miscommunication by now...there certainly is enough of it in romance books but it still bugs the heck out of me every. time. On the other hand, I love all the drama it creates. So, yes, there is some angst but nothing over the top.

I loved the ending and the epilogue...it was so sweet. I was left with a few unanswered questions but overall, I was happy with the end results. Definitely a love story I would recommend...you don't want to miss it!

M Leighton is a fantastic author. I have always admired her writing. I admire her talent of invoking all sorts of emotions when i read her books. This book was no different. There was an amazing connection between the main characters. I can't say much in this review without giving this story away but this book is so tender and heart-rending. I LOVED Levi. Despite his devastating, mind shattering secret, i loved the way he held Evie with such reverence. And what a fantastic world i was invited into. To be the way Evie was and have such optimism in life was so inspiring. The only reason this book wasn't a 5 star read for me was because there were so many cliches (especially with the evil Julianne) I expected every action and reaction, every plot twist and turn.

I especially LOVED this author's afterword. She speaks about a famous painter in New York and i could not believe his work when i visited his website. SUCH EXCELLENCE.

Overall, Levi's blue was a worth-your-time read and a definite recommendation.

I have always gravitated toward M. Leighton. Something about her love stories always feel a bit real and are always a tad steamy. Her last few works have developed so much in terms of depth and character progression. Levi's Blue is another unique story from her mind that delivers another love story that is sweet and moving but complex and emotional.

Levi's Blue is the instant attraction of an amazing artist, Evie who happens to be blind and a mysterious, yet strong and sexy stranger who is fascinated with the person she truly is. Evie is focused on her life and making the most of her situation and for once a man has come along and sees her as a real woman. If only this smart and sassy gal would take a chance! Seems as if 4 dates is all it would take to make her "see" Levi as a man who is worthy of her. Predictable but still totally worth the read!

For me, this book was owned by Evie. I loved her strength and her independence. I was moved by her appreciation for life through her senses and I was even more blown away by her life and reactions to those who didn't see her. Her path to happiness with Levi would not easy and it was often at times quite sad to see the obstacles they faced.

M. Leighton has done a fabulous job of making a love story complex and deep and she has done it by slowly diving into her characters and revealing life...good and bad. The pace was a bit slow at start but once the heat came on, I was full throttle invested! A unique love story done well!!

*le sigh* First and foremost I have to talk about how absolutely breathtaking the writing was. I absolutely loved it! I'm always a big fan of writing that's infused with any kind of art (painting, sculpting, etc...), and this was no different. Her writing was by far my favorite part of this novel and I'm very excited to read more from this author. I mean, just read these...
"Levi's blue. That will forever be the color of happiness in my mind."
"Her voice [was] a water color portrait of sad blues and hurt oranges."
"The quiet that follows my shout is like a tar pit. I feel all the good parts of my life, all the love and happiness and color of it, falling into its sticky black depths and being swallowed whole."
"I've never known silence to actually hurt. But this silence does. It pricks like a thousand needles, piercing my tender skin, each one drawing blood."
"The words fall from numb lips like dead leaves, littering the chair and the floor around me. For the rest of my life, I will never be able to sit in this chair, in this spot, and not smell the stench of their decaying corpses."
"He thrills every inch of me as effortlessly as the wind teases leaves on a tree."
"I feel his words like touches, like brushstrokes."
"He's swirling through my head in swipes of color and wedges of light. He’s tingling at the tips of my fingers in the smooth tan of his cheek and the firm square of his jaw. But more than that, he's burning through my blood in bold crimsons and hot oranges, like flames licking along my veins."
-Levi-

Levi... another book boyfriend to add to my never-ending pile. I loved how he treated Evie. He had me swooning from the very first page he was on...
"I've never really thought about sight. At least not in terms of being glad I have it. Like the rest of the sighted population, it's just something I've always taken for granted. I shouldn't, but I do. Until now. Tonight, I'm particularly grateful for my vision... And not just because I get to see her work, which is stunning. The colors are so vibrant, it seems as though they actually pulse with life. They're vivid and rich and fascinating, just like the artist. But tonight, I'm most grateful for my vision because I get to see her."
He's smitten with her right from the beginning and he's very forward in his pursuit. Levi doesn't run or stop reassuring her that she's the woman he wants. I feel like I can't do justice to him, so I'm gonna be obnoxious and drop more quotes...
"Well, just so you know, it doesn't bother me at all. I love your eyes. Whether you can see with them or not, they're beautiful."
"Because you look like art. Beautiful, brilliant, chaotic art."
"After Evie, there will be no going back."
"I found myself wondering what she’d think of a certain color or how she’d describe a certain smell. What she'd say about the mountains or the ocean or Paris if I could take her. I started seeing things through her eyes."
description

He made mistakes, but he never faltered, he always wanted her. And I really appreciated his initiative to "see" things through her eyes. But my absolute favorite part of Levi was his grovel. I loved that he worked for it (and that she made him!). He was resolved and did everything he could to win her back.
"Don't shut me out. Don’t make me go. My life was shit until I met you. It was plain and dull and dead. You don't just paint with color. You are color. And I won't ever see color again if you're gone."
"If you won’t have me now, I'll wait. I'll wait forever if I have to."
"I'm so glad you could forgive me. I don't deserve it, but I want you to know that I'll spend the rest of my life making sure you are never sorry that you did."
I haven't read a good grovel in a long ass time, so I definitely appreciated it.

description

-Evie-

I liked her, too. I really respected the fact that she tried to be positive, and that people constantly referred to her ability to "make lemonade out of lemons." She truly did, especially with her painting. I loved reading about the class she taught and all the kids (especially Alana, she was so sweet!). My heart broke for her. She was so used to being a burden that she couldn't fully trust that someone actually wanted to be with her.
"Maybe it's that, for the first time since losing my sight, someone has bothered to come into my world to find me."
"He pauses, actually putting thought into what he's seeing, which makes me feel gratified, like I'm opening his eyes. I’m enriching his life."
And even though she is scared, she takes the plunge anyways...
"Because some things are worth hurting over. I just hope Levi is one of them."
And like I mentioned before, I loved her resolve when it came to forgiving Levi. It was probably one of my favorite grovels ever <3

Now, for a couple of my hang-ups...

-Julianne. I really, really, REALLY could have done without her. I don't mind some OW drama, but this felt very forced. She was a longtime friend of Levi's (and they'd "dated" on-again, off-again), but once he meets Evie, she decides she wants more and gets pissed when she can't have him. So she starts blackmailing and trying to sabotage the relationship. I disliked almost every scene she was in because she was such a one-dimensional character and absolutely horrible. Basically, she was Regina George.

description

-The length. This felt too long and dragged in certain areas for me. Particularly when Evie was being insecure about whether Levi would really want to date a blind woman. Evie was not a pity-party character, and I understood her reluctance to date after some of the shit she went through, but it felt like she was repeating herself a lot in the beginning. Once she let him in and had one or two freak-outs, I would have been satisfied.

Even though these weren't "little" things, they didn't stop me from enjoying this. The writing, the characters (minus Julianne), and the relationship between them was so beautiful that I was able to overlook my niggles and enjoy the story :) *Also, I loved how Evie's best friend handled Levi when he screwed up! Because even though she seemed to want Evie to forgive him, she was still on her side and told Levi...
"So help me God, if you hurt her, I will rip off your dick and make you eat it."
So, yeah... just another reason to love the grovel in this book ;)

This is the second book I have read by M. Leighton and her writing is wonderful and captivating. Brings out emotions and is so vivid!!

The heroine in this story had a uniqueness that excited me. Evie was a blind painter! I will not spoil anything, however Evie and Levi’s journey was heartfelt.
The scenes where Levi was conveying various sceneries to Evie were beautiful.

There were some dragging parts in the story and the drama with Levi’s friend-with-benefits was not necessary and didn’t thrill me.
Regardless, it was an emotional read, with romance and beautifully written.

4 Stars!
Loved this one!
I loved the way Levi didn't treat Evie like she was blind. How he described things to her made me swoon. He was so freaking sexy!!

Loved that Evie wasn't a bitter person because of what happened to her. She made many lemons into lemonade. She was awesome!
Levi and Evie were super hot together. Damn Levi was yummy!!!

Loved Evie's best friend Cherelyn!!! Loved how she always wanted a story from Evie to calm her down before she had to go do something big. They always cracked me up!

I wish I could say I didn't figure out the drama that happened but I did. I was kind of hoping it was handled to differently on Levi's part. Always that one nasty bitch in a book. lol

Loved the epilogue:))

“I’m thinking you could be the end of me. The bright, beautiful firework that ends me. That sets me on fire. The flame that burns a brilliant blue and gold and white at the center of me.” ~Evie

“I don’t want to be the end of you. I want to be the beginning,” he whispers, his voice a quiet, luscious roll across my eardrums.~Levi

It's opening night for Evie's first ever gallery-showing.
She's super nervous and scared and clumsy. ☺
That's how she ends up meeting him.
Levi.
The guy with the amazing voice and the bluest of eyes.
He's immediately intrigued - even though he's there with a date.
But he wants to get to know Evie.

After lots of flirty & funny banter, Evie agrees to four dates. He'll only be in town for a few days, so he has to convince her that he's a great guy after only four amazing dates.

Challenge accepted.
Even though he's not really interested in something serious - he just has to use this chance.
And even though Evie thinks he couldn't seriously be interested in her, she's way too charmed to resist...

What will happen with Evie & Levi???
Will there be a HEA??
Will everybody die at the end???

description

Or will there be a horrible Cliffy???

description

I'm not telling you that of course ☺

So adorable!

I really had no idea what to expect when I started reading.
I thought it would be a quick/cute/sexy romance.
And it was cute and sexy.
But it was so much more.

Levi and Evie have been through a lot in their lives, but they're still standing and still hoping and dreaming and living. I just loved them.

You start reading and you immediately want to fast-forward to see if they will be each other's forever-ever-after-person. But at the same time you want the story to slow down, because it's so beautiful to watch them get there. To watch them fight for what they want - or what they thought they would never have or didn't deserve.

We have so many funny and adorable moments and lots of sexy ...

description

... and romantic moments...

"Levi's Blue."
That will forever be the color of happiness in my mind.

description

and of course some very serious and sad moments too...

description

We already noticed it in the title - Levi's BLUE - that the story has a lot of colorful details in it. Michelle describes things so beautifully and real and ... it's like you can see, smell, feel everything that's described. I'm not a fan of audiobooks, but I think I would love to listen to Levi's Blue!

Amazing romance with amazing characters - you'll laugh, cry, and awwww a LOT!

description

...and you might want to hit one or more characters over the head with your kindle a few times. ☺
I just loved it!!!

LEVI'S BLUE was such a beautiful romance! Full of colors and feels and laughs and awwws and ugly cries... Absolutely unputdownable - you just need to know if Evie & Levi will get their HEA! Run to your nearest amazon to find out! ☺

Was there something I didn't like?
Hm, not really. I just had the impression that the story took place 30/40 years ago... I know I'm weird, but it felt a bit old-fashioned here and there. No idea why...and it doesn't make the story bad in any way. It just felt like something a little bit older to me.
Oh, and also... it was a tiny bit too predictable. But I prefer predictable over way too ridiculously created plot-twists. ☺

3.5 stars. I picked this up for the chase & grovel and got what I came for. It just didn’t get the full 5 stars because it kinda droned on and on for me, but apart from that; this H gave good grovel.

3.5 All for Levi Stars!

This was my first read of Michelle Leighton's in a few years. But some of her earlier works are among my favorite books ever. I think my personal fave of hers is Everything for Us. GAWD, I loved me some Nash and Marissa. <3 This author definitely writes some great chemistry, sexy banter, and steamy as hell scenes that will about set your Kindle on FIRE!!

"I want you in my bed," he mutters, striding across the floor with single-minded purpose. "I want to see you come on the sheets I sleep on. I want these walls to hear the sounds you make when I bury my body inside you. And I want to look down into your face when I make you lose it in my bed. Because in here, you're mine. All mine."

This book for me was good with a few moments of great. It had trouble holding my interest in the first 50%, though. It was never to the point that I wanted to start skimming, but I did find the book easy to put down during that first half. However, the second half is unputdownable. There is a twist that I never, ever saw coming.

The element of art was, of course, a huge piece of this story. Some of the "great" scenes I referred to earlier happened around this theme. The author's use of words and description made a couple of these scenes downright magical. However, when we are talking about a blind heroine where art is central main theme of the book, particularly painting, my mind can't help but go back to the EXCEPTIONAL book, Blind Obsession by Ella Frank. And while this book did a good job with the description and the element of having an MC that was blind, THAT book knocked it out of the park. They are two totally different books, though. One just reminded me of the other in some ways.

Levi is sexy and swoony. There is nothing that isn't 110% loveable about his character. And Evie is a strong and confident heroine, who I found likable and relatable.

I would've probably given the book 4 stars had it not been for some drama-llama that popped up at the end. I personally have minimal tolerance for ex drama. It has to be believable and be necessary to the plot in order for me to "buy it." When I feel like it is filler content, like I did here, I get uber annoyed. It yanks me right out of the story.

In general, this is an enjoyable book. It is well-written and the plot is unique enough. I thought it had the potential of being better, but I still enjoyed it and would recommend it nonetheless, minus a few personal hangups.

I am glad to see this author writing again and look forward to seeing more from her soon. :))

"It's you," he says, his voice low with sincerity. "It's not just my life you bring color to. It's everyone around you. You are the color. The life. The love. The happiness."

SPOILER FREE! This is a book to just jump right into and experience, and not read any spoilers. I seriously felt EVERYTHING! It was easy to get caught up in all of the little details and organically feel the story as it is told.

Evie is a unique and amazing artist. I appreciated her spunk, wit, and tenacity. She is perceptive, kind, passionate, and sweet. She enriches everyone's lives she touches. But she has some trust issues and challenges that make her insecure about men.

Levi literally sweeps her off her feet or really keeps her from falling. He is charming, sexy, protective, and so very persistent. He is mesmerized by Evie and makes no secret of it. He works hard to convince her to give him a chance...four chances in fact...four dates to make her believe in his sincerity. He's got his own issues and secrets and is an enigma in some ways. But I absolutely adored Levi's enthusiasm and the creative ways to try to leave an impression.

He pushes her boundaries, breaks down her resistance, accepts and empowers her. She brings him back to life, and both gives him a sense of contentment and also invigorates him. They have a fun, flirty rapport, magnetic chemistry, and an addictive need. It is an awakening for both of them that involves all of their senses, bodies, and hearts. It is told in both of their points of view so we feel all that they are along the way.

But Evie is just waiting to find out that Levi is just too good to be true. And Levi's secret might be the one thing that she cannot handle. This is a story about taking risks, giving chances, maintaining trust, and finding forgiveness. My heart hurt for Levi and the situations he needed to deal with. Evie makes him want to be a better man and one that truly deserves her. But he is plagued by guilt and fear that he will hurt her and ruin his chances. And I felt for Evie too. She has a lot to come to terms with and it hard for her to really trust. But I loved them together and I totally fell for Levi. So I was rooting for them and flipping pages to see how it would all end up. But at the same time I knew I would be sad to see it end.

This story captivated me with unique, real characters that had amazing chemistry, an interesting plot, and some twists. I felt everything with the vivid descriptions and imagery. The side characters even made an impact whether it be really good like her room mate Cherelyn and some of the precocious kids in her art class, or the antagonist who I truly wanted to throttle. This story made me smile, laugh, hurt, and tear up a little. It actually makes you look at the world a bit differently. I loved every bit of it, and these characters easily buried into my heart. This is M. Leighton at her best--funny, heartfelt, sexy, and emotional all at the same time.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

More Reviews Here: Readers Live A Thousand Lives

We all know I’m a certified M. Leighton fan girl, so I’m sure this isn’t really a surprise, but I loved Levi’s Blue. Levi’s Blue is vintage M. Leighton. It feels like some of her earlier contemporaries, yet it still stands out. It’s very much its own story but it has the feel of Down To You and The Wild Ones. It’s steamy and heartbreaking and swoony and emotional and lighthearted all in one.

Probably the best thing about the book is the characters. Levi and Evie are both wonderful. I adore Evie and love her even more for everything she has endured. And well, Levi is ridiculously easy to fall for. And together their chemistry is off the charts. They make one another better. Also, their banter is phenomenal. Some of my favorite banter ever. Their conversations had me laughing out loud and you know they would be tough to keep up with in person. And I can’t forget to mention Cherelyn. I adore strong female friendships and I love Cherelyn and Evie’s relationship. They are their own little family.

As with any of Michelle’s books she delivers the steam. Levi and Evie’s chemistry is off the charts. Have a glass of water handy as you read. But as steamy as it is, it’s also sweet. I loved watching these two fall for one another and Levi knows how to make anyone swoon.

Levi’s Blue is a great read and any contemporary romance fan is sure to love this one. It’s addictive and so difficult to put down and you’ll swoon from beginning to end.

I totally devoured this book from start to finish and completely melted as I fell head over heals for Levi..
But as much as I love Levi.. Evie is that heroine that inspires you.. She is rock solid yet carries that small bit of insecurity that we all have..and once you read this you will see and understand exactly what I am talking about.. She is such a dynamic, complex character that brings you in to her world and has you FEELING everything she is going through...
But that's no surprise since M. Leighton is the brilliant author that spun this sexy sweet tale.
Levi's Blue is beautifully written eliciting such an enchantment on your soul that once you finish.. You FEEL as much a part of Levi and Evie's journey as the two experiencing it.

Cudowna historia, a autorka sprawiła, że pierwszy raz jestem oczarowana wszystkimi tymi opisami - było ich całkiem sporo. Ale myślę, że bez nich ta książka straciłaby na uroku :)
Polecam!

*Spoiler ahead*

I had a few problems with this book.

First off, because the heroine was blind there had to be more explanations than usual, and that's not my coppa. The fact that there was one line of speaking following by pages of explaining and imagining things inside the heroine's mind, made the story drag and slow and boring. So much "talking about" and not doing things.

Second, the heroine was kind of annoying. This mentioning every other sentence that she's blind and cripple.
For a woman who wanted to being treated like any other human being, she sure was talking a loooot about her disability. She shamed and made fun of herself under the mask of joking and I didn't like it. It made her look weaker than the author intended to.

Third, the humor in this book was a bit juvenile and made me cringe with discomfort. I skimmed alot.

The good thing? I'm thankful I can see

Bye, Bye.

Levi's Blue is a beautifully told love story that filled my soul with immeasurable bliss. I'm actually having a tough time even coming up with the right words to describe the poetic nature of this book. It is so much more than just a romantic tale with a sexy hero who is the only perfect fit for his heroine. It's words that you can't help but savor since the writing is off the charts spectacular. In essence, a seemingly usual tale of love, made to be the loveliest kind of unexpected.

A supposed chance encounter between Evie and Levi start a whirlwind romance that has both of them a bit undone. Neither saw the other one coming. But their instant attraction is sizzling and their ability to engage in witty banter effortlessly is addicting. I loved how 'smart' and clever they were with each other. I smiled often at Evie's failure to tamp down Levi's flirtatious nature. It was simply adorable! Each most definitely had met their match.

Levi is off the charts charming but in the most sincere way. He really gets Evie, even when she doubts that anyone could. Her mark on the world, both in her spectacular painting and in her ability to make others less fortunate than her rise above their insecurities, is what impressed Levi the most. Even knowing a threat from the past could change things between them forever, Levi knew that Evie was clearly meant to be his. He had found the missing piece to his heart.

Even with secrets held and doubt casting a persistent cloud, this incredible love story will be certain to make you sigh. Important secondary characters, including the most loyal of besties and a little girl who could charm the pants off of anyone, add the right touch and are a welcomed addition. And those who cause a bit of trouble, as much as they are un-welcomed in Evie and Levi's life, make the book complete.

There is a true flawless dimension to M. Leighton's writing. It flows easily and you can't help but want it to continue forever. And although Levi and Evie travel a road filled with plenty of bumps and twists and turns, you'll never want to be anywhere else. I loved every word.

5++++ with the desire to give it 10!
