Jason Luke enjoyed several years involved in the BDSM lifestyle - but he is quick to point out that his experiences don't qualify him as an expert, any more than knowing how to drive a car makes him a qualified mechanic. 'Interview with a Master' is a novel about how one man became a Master. The book is a work of fiction, but Jason has drawn heavily on encounters from his own real life. He won't say which parts of the book are fictionalised, and which parts are auto-biographical.

Erotic BDSM fiction written by a man from a man's point of view.

Since these books were so short I'm just going to review them as one book. I liked the Plaything series and I think it started off really great, but it unfortunately lost me in the middle. When I began reading I was invested like crazy in the story of Amy and Robert and thought there's would be a wild and sexy tale. But when I moved on to the second installment I found myself losing interest and getting bored since it didn't seem like it was actually moving anywhere.

From there the rest of the story lost me and I never got interested in it again, not even at the end where there was more happening. I think the overall writing was just too rushed for me and by the time I finished reading about Amy and Robert I didn't honestly know what their story was about. After the initial telling of how Robert came to be Amy's BDSM training Master it was like the authors lost their train of though in way, and just started writing random things that, to me, didn't seem like they fit in the story.

Bottom line, this was an okay series and it was a good erotica if you're not looking for much story.

I normally love Jade West's books but this mini series was just mediocre for me and I felt a lil bit underwhelmed with it. Even though there were nice and wonderfully written moments, there was not enough build up of the romance, the story felt rushed and flat. The BDSM was mainly about submission, how to submit to be sold into sex slavery. And even though the sex scenes with the hero were hot and it was angsty, the whole sex trafficking aspect (incl. the reason while the hero was called to "train" the heroine in the first place) was not that believable to me.

Volume three opens in with an uninterrupted timeline with Robert continuing to train Amy as the perfect submissive for her new buyer and to get her away from his sadistic father and brother. The goal is to make Amy so pliable that becoming a submissive is like second nature. However, with Robert acting as her Master, Amy comes to a realization that’s been evading her for years. What ensues between Robert and Amy is intense, emotionally and physically, causing them to feel more than they ever planned.

“You need to understand the difference between willing submission and mindless surrender.”

As time is running out and with Robert knowing how his vile family operates, he tries to up the ante before it’s too late. But when Amy must face her fears, she acts the only way she knows how and she proves that she is not broken. It’s at that time when Robert and Amy must decide where they proceed.

“It’s about your approach to the situation, your mindset. It’s all you have control over. You need to be able to use it.”

In this final episode, it all comes together with Amy learning about her desires and about her needs. Robert is a character that’s easy to like with his unbreakable resolve and patience. The conflict between Robert, his father and Alistair is deviously intriguing as each have their own strong personalities and depraved ways.

Overall, I would have liked for this series to be published in one longer book to maintain the plot and character momentum. Having said that, I enjoyed the dark erotic journey and the collaborative writing of Jason Luke and Jade West.

This series would appeal to those looking for some kinkery and the psychological elements of being a captive submissive.

Robert and Amy’s story comes to an end with part three. This was a quick read and although I wasn’t sure how much I’d really enjoy it (because book 2 sort of fell off for me), I was surprised that I did.

I think the ending of this, that final scene sort of what saved the story for me. There was this sort of stillness that was taking place, even with the intensity of the story – that the ending, with a little bit of an angsty twist – sort of saved this read for me.

Overall, this was good and the series enjoyed.

2.5 Not A Plaything Stars

Soo I liked the ending but not the epilogue. This installment was more brutal and gory than the previous two, not a bad thing...

It feels like ages since I read plaything 2 and I was so looking forward to reading this but I have to be honest I was a bit disappointed!
I felt as though there wasn't as much detail in the story and I couldn't connect with it as much as the previous 2 both of which I loved.
I didn't expect the kind of ending that it had and was also disappointed in the way that it ended.
obviously this is just my opinion and I know others really liked it so given it a read!

And so to the long awaited conclusion and we get a very fast ride to the finale. At times the story felt a little rushed, I would have liked a bit more detail to the future, maybe a few scenes that showed how they finally worked as a couple, but overall it was a quick and easy read

Okay, so I used up the last of my Amazon gift card on this and now I only have 5 cents left, so I was really hoping for a good story. It was okay. OMG, I was about to be so mad at the end if Amy had just left him and had pretended she hadn't had real feelings for him (because that's why they decided to run away together...key word together!! I even thought she was falling in love with him in book 2!). Then when the book said "The END", that really fooled me. I thought it was literally the end. Luckily, there was an epilogue, but the whole thing just made me disappointed.
The whole book had a lot of potential, I just felt it was too rushed and short and I didn't like how it was cut up into 6 incredibly short installments. Whose idea was that I do not know but I did not like it.

Time for a review (at last)

I've taken my time with this review of all three parts as I felt it was worth it, so before I go further yes its worth 5 stars as a whole, yes it's got a happy ending, but its savage at times looking back at Amy's passage through a life that suddenly gets complicated, at times due to her own drivers, but its about exploitation and rightly she emerges at the end clear of the arena she's been placed in.

Still in my discovery of Jade West, i started this one she wrote with another author.

The story was a little harder to read due to theme but i got into it quickly and i couldn't put it down !

I just think the end was a little rushed but overall it's hard, rough and raw and the characters well built and interesting.

I think i'm becoming a fan ^^

The conclusion to Amy and Robert's story was disappointing. And I'm saying this as someone who was not over the moon when it came to the previous books.

I received an arc in exchange for a honest review.
I can't begin to tell you how long I have wanted this book to arrive on my kindle and when it arrived today I dropped everything and snuck upstairs to read it.
The wait was definitely worth it.
This trilogy has been fantastic from the start but plaything volume 3 just totally knocked it out of the ball park.
This situation that Amy finds herself in is an evil sadistic hell thanks to Alister yet somehow she manages to stay strong and resilient.
Robert doesn't like his family and this book shows what little emotion he actually has for his brother and father in a fantastic way.
I loved Alberts part in volume 3 and I'm glad it turned out the way it did.Go Albert!
The ending was the perfect ending this book could wish for.
Well done for writing a fantastic conclusion that had me turning the pages almost faster than I could read them as I needed to know how this story ended.

This is the last part of „Plaything” series - Volume 3. Amy’s being trained an art of submission by Robert. During those 7 days together they develop a strong bond and it’s hard for them to let each other go. They will have to outsmart both old man and Alister.

So, I’m done. I’ve finished this super hot series and I enjoyed it very much! Robert and Amy’s story was unusual, I liked them both so I was hoping for that kind of ending. Robert was a great guy, caring and not sadistic like the rest of his family. And I was so glad when Alister end up how he did - utterly satisfying!!!
Also ending of this story was really believable.

This ended pretty nicely. I like how skeptical Amy was at the end to get involved and the way the author made it work was just very realistic. That is what I like more about this author. He doesn’t always make it a fantasy, HEA, fiction book. Really makes it nitty and gritty believable. Overall, I wasn’t sold on this book after the first of the series but as I continued to read, I really got into it.

Robert is training Amy to serve someone else. To be their plaything if you will. The only problem with getting that close is keeping it just business.
**I received an ARC for my honest review **
There really wasn't any other way for this to end. If it was intended to have a happy conclusion. I don't say that negatively. I very much enjoyed the conclusion of Robert and Amys story. In the end Robert was just the guy she needed.

Amazing

Wow! I wasn't expecting some of the things that happened at all. Robert threw me the most. I knew Amy had the feelings she did and Robert some but wow. I loved this last story. It fit perfectly with the others and had the perfect ending. Thank Jason and Jade for this amazing book!

Received an ARC for an honest review.

The wait is finally over and it was well worth it. A gripping finale, it was everything I hoped it would be. No questions left unanswered, a truly riveting series which has left me with a very satisfied smile when I reached the last page.

I waited a long time for the last book and it did not disappoint. Everyone got what they deserved from Alister to his dad and especially Robert and Amy who get their happily ever after. This book doesn't disappoint it's just as dark as the first two books.

I really did enjoy Amy and Robert's story. I'm glad I waited until all 3 were out because I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much. Jade West is one heck of a story teller. I recommend this story. Steam factor 6 stars. I received a free copy for an honest review.
