Power of the Matchmaker

How I Met Your Brother

Rate this book
The best day of his life, the worst day of hers.

Back in college, Marco Dawson never thought of Belle as anything more than a friend. If she had crossed his mind on his wedding day, it was probably only to wonder why she hadn’t shown up to be a bridesmaid. After all, his new wife was her old roommate. Seven years have passed since then, and Belle just found out that Marco is divorced and vacationing with his family in an elegant Cancun resort. She’s not about to let the right man get away twice. She heads to the resort where she plans to casually bump into Marco and ignite some romantic flames.

But Belle hadn’t planned on one thing: Flynn Dawson, Marco’s handsome, charming, and determined twin brother. He thinks Marco and his ex-wife can make amends and he’s not about to let Belle stand in the way.

Part Sabrina, part While You Were Sleeping, romantic comedy readers will eat this book up!

Janette Rallison has five children who keep her well supplied with plot ideas, sometimes even making cameo appearances in her novels. She likes to write romantic comedy because there is enough angst in real life, but theres a drastic shortage on both humor and romance.

Playing the Field was named Society of School Librarians International Best Book Award Honor Book, and both Alls Fair In Love, War, and High School and Love, Life, and the Pursuit of Free Throws were included on YALSAs Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults list. This is a fun, clean, light contemporary romance that mixes both humor and some meaningful ideas about family in with the romantic feelz. Also: Cancun setting!
description
... and a really hot guy who's trying to keep our heroine away from his equally hot twin brother. If you're in the mood for a romantic escape, what's not to like?

Isabelle Lind had one of those crushes on her old college friend Marco Dawson ― the kind that lasts for years. The kind where the guy never sees you as more than a friend, because you're too shy and understated. And, most painfully, the kind where the guy dates and marries your roommate and best friend, Daisy.

It's about seven years later now. Belle has gained in confidence and style, and now has a successful career as a fashion designer, but she's never forgotten Marco. When a mysterious and helpful matchmaker (Pearl) happens to mention Marco is now divorced and will be at a week-long family reunion at a Cancun resort the next week, Belle decides it's time to take matters into her own hands and take a vacation (she needs one anyway, right?) and accidentally-on-purpose run into Marco.

It works like a charm, apparently, except the one she runs into first is Flynn, Marco's charming twin brother ... who Daisy has recently contacted, begging him to help her to get the chance to patch things up with Marco. What's a loyal brother to do? Especially when there's a sexy blond girl making eyes at him. Even if she thinks he's his brother. Duh: pretend to be your twin brother and keep her away from him! Of course!!

Flynn's impersonation scheme gets exploded a lot sooner than I expected, which actually made this book a lot of fun. He and Belle continue to maneuver, each trying to put their plans into play and block the other's, while fighting the attraction they have for each other. Flynn's surrounded by the rest of his family ― parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, and more, not to mention Marco ― and they're adorable. Meanwhile, Daisy is staring daggers at Belle.

A few things happened toward the end a lot more quickly than I thought made sense. I also could have lived without the Big Misunderstanding trope coming into play, but its role is very short-lived so I could deal. Generally, though, this is a great escape, with some satisfyingly hot kisses.

Now I need to go to Cancun, or Cabo, or somewhere ...

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for ... not a review, actually, but some copyediting. But she gets the review too. :)

Loads of fun and romance!

I really love this series! I’ve been looking forward to Janette’s book for a long time now and I loved it! I love all her books, but especially enjoy her adult novels. I was excited when I saw this was loosely based on Sabrina , I love that movie!

Belle had a major crush on her friend Marco in college and was devastated when things didn’t work out. Seven years later she is working as a fashion designer in New York, but not completely happy with where she is at. When she learns Marco is going to be in Cancun, she decides she needs a vacation. Instead of being the shy, invisible girl, she’s going to show Marco her new confident side. Maybe this time things will play out better? She doesn’t count on meeting Marco’s brother Flynn and having him mess up all her plans.

This is a fun contemporary romance, fun plot and likable characters. It’s well written with a smooth flow that just carries you into the story and makes it hard to put down. I admit, I stayed up way too late to finish it, but I just had to see how everything would work out. The romance was great, lots of fun moments, tension and misunderstandings, but ultimately a great HEA. I did think she was a little quick to forgive Flynn, wouldn't have minded him groveling a bit more!

Would definitely recommend to any romance lover!

Mhh.

The Struggle is real.

Writing this book wasn't my idea. Heather B Moore approached me about being in the Matchmaker series and I wanted to be in a group with so many other great authors. I'm so glad I said yes. This book was lots of fun to write.

Really, throwing a couple of identical twins into any book is bound to make it better. Identical twins are sort of like ninjas that way.

This was a great confluence of mood and availability. I've liked Rallison's books before (not all, but in a good ratio) and seeing this pop up in Amazon Unlimited was the right place at the right time. And it totally didn't disappoint.

I'll admit to some dismay to find that this is part of the annoying Matchmaker nonsense. I'm not sure why I've grown an aversion to the semi-series, but since it's multiple authors and "Pearl" is such a transparent device I suppose it just seems gimmicky and awkward to me. To Rallison's credit, Pearl only shows up at the beginning and end, and doesn't do much more than let Belle know where her former crush is and that he's available. Naturally, Belle goes after him or there wouldn't be a story. Even better, she finds Flynn instead.

I liked Belle right off. Which is something of an accomplishment because it's pretty clear, even in the beginning, that she hasn't quite matured past her days as something of an over-eager puppy-dog. She's getting there, though. Maturity, I mean. So while it's painful how eagerly she heads off to find her once-true-love, it's also hopeful from the start that she'll be woman enough to go in with her eyes open . . . eventually. And since I really liked the woman she was on the brink of becoming, I was really into watching the story unfold.

Flynn was more completely who he wants to be, but also has some growing to do—mainly in wanting some of what they call "work/life balance". And who doesn't like the confident man needing to find someone who can match him and still lighten his otherwise work-dreary life? Not me, that's for sure. I fell for him almost as quickly as I fell for Belle and that always makes for a fun story.

The story is a light, easy read with no real surprises along the way. Flynn's family is kind of awesome (maybe a little too much so) and watching Belle find a home was delightful, even as you felt all her uncertainty of this being her actual future. She was at this reunion under false pretenses, after all. Still, I wish Belle's former roommate, Daisy, had been more than a plot-convenient watering-pot. And I was disappointed that her former crush, Marcus, came across as kind of a doddering simpleton.

Anyway, this was a solid four star read, quibbles notwithstanding. Also note that I didn't ding it for the somewhat sloppy copy-editing (but mention it for those who may find that annoying). It wasn't horrid and was never unclear, but the book could certainly have used a pass by a skilled copy-editor.

Mischievous, Devious, Hilarious, adventurous, audacious(although it's similar to adventurous I liked the word), delicious, fictitious, flirtatious, humorous, oblivious, delirious, vivacious, victorious, voracious(me in reading and consuming this book).

Those are all great words that describe this book and my feelings towards it. Very fun with great wit and humor abounding throughout. Isabelle is in for the ride of her life, with lots of twists to navigate and overcome. Will she know the best choices or will her choices send her hurtling faster towards disaster? Marco, I mean Flynn, I mean Marco...ugh, which is which and will Isabelle know her heart and which twin brother will be the one will cherish and hold it safely for her?

Isabelle is at a bit of a crossroads after a big and frustrating fiasco during a fashion show with her fashion house. Frankly I wouldn't blame her and would be a bit frustrated too! In the moment of leaving the after party Isabelle meets Miss Pearl.

Now if you haven't been following and reading The Power of the Matchmaker series then I will let you know that Miss Pearl is the connecting character for all the books in the series. Each book is a standalone so if you're not following the series just know Miss Pearl is the matchmaker and has her own short story if you want her backstory, Power of the Matchmaker, it's free on Amazon if you're interested. I have loved the books I've read from the series, I think I have 3 more to go. It's a great group of authors!

The synopsis says this has the feel of Sabrina and While You Were Sleeping and I loved it! Those are two of my favorite movies. I loved the banter between the characters, I enjoyed the emotions that were explored. The characters(not just the main ones you would assume) had preconceived notions about life and different experiences that they were given the chance to reevaluate and realize that their perception wasn't always 100% accurate. Some of the characters were stinkers at points and some were just great the whole way through.

I enjoy Janette's writing style and will keep enjoying her books, and rereading them. My first book by her was Masquerade when I was a teenager. My sister bought it, read it, loved it and said I had to read it. Let's just say I've read it multiple times over the years and love it every time. Her books have great humor, swoony characters and fun storylines!

Content: Some innuendos at the beginning with the fashion show and I believe a few mild ones scattered throughout. Some kissing, some sweet little kisses and a few make out kissing scenes but nothing past kissing. I would say this is a clean read.

I snagged a copy from Amazon when it was on sale for $0.99.

Happy Reading!!!

Belle was extremely shy and awkward in college. She often thought of herself as invisible. When she meets the devastatingly handsome Marco (or Dawson as he liked to be called in college), she can't think straight, gets tongue tied and tries her best to get him to notice her. But sadly, he only ever saw her as a friend.

Belle is devastated when Marco meets and falls in love with her best friend/roommate, Daisy. Their friendship becomes strained as Daisy and Dawson's relationship develops. Belle is heartbroken. She can't believe Daisy would do that to her. Being around them gets to be too much for Belle to handle so she cuts all ties with them.

7 years later, she runs into Pearl who informs her that Dawson and Daisy have divorced and Dawson is headed to Cancun for a family reunion. After debating back and forth she decides that it's a sign and she heads off to Cancun to get reacquainted with Dawson. Now that she has out grown her shyness and is no longer invisible, she's guaranteed to have a shot with him. Right? Wrong! Fate and Dawson's twin brother, Flynn, have another thing in mind for her.

Flynn is determined to do everything he can to make sure Daisy and Marco have a fair chance in reconciling their differences, even if that means making sure the beautiful Belle stays far, far away from them. But Belle is definitely someone who will not go down without a fight. She has been carrying this torch for Marco for years and is determined to have her shot with him.

All I have to say is let the games begin! The chemistry between Belle and Flynn is off the charts and felt by all. But they got this! Right?! This little game is just a means to an end. But the more time they spend together, getting to know one and other, the more they both start to rethink which brother Belle is truly meant to be with.

Will Belle and Flynn figure it out before it's too late? Or will secrets and lies keep them from their HEA?

I am going to start out by saying I really enjoyed this book. But the story line was definitely a hard sell for me. Twin brothers and one girl? That's just weird to me. I can't really express it in any other way than weird! Lol. I can say that I absolutely loved and adored Flynn! I thought he was amazing! Belle, on the other hand, seemed desperate and pathetic at times. I'm not sure why but I had a hard time connecting with her. I wish she would've realized her feelings for Flynn sooner and have more of a development of their real relationship. I was disappointed that we only got a small glimpse of it at the very end. I also wish we would've seen more of Pearl in this book. She played such a very small role in the book compared to the other books I have read in the Matchmaker series.

All in all a cute read. I will definitely be picking up more by this author in the future. I think this is only my second book by her?

And of course I just can't forger my casting! What so you think?!

I love books about reuniting with former crushes. In Belle's case, Marco (aka Dawson) never really liked her in that way in college, but matchmaker Pearl gives her a heads up and off to Cancun she goes. She was head-over-heels for him back then and after his marriage ends, she's ready to make him hers.

Would you ever go for one twin and then change your mind and go for the other one? That's a tricky situation, but boy, oh, boy--it sure works in this story! I was laughing, dying of humiliation, smiling, swooning, and devouring every delicious page of this book. Janette Rallison has the knack of writing adorably sweet, funny, and darling chick-lit romances that leave me with a huge, goofy smile on my face.

Belle has changed over time and has really found herself, yet she still has more self-discovery to unearth and I loved that process in this story. The setting? To die for! The romance? Hysterically swoony. Yes, I loved it all. Flynn is quite a force to be reckoned with, and even his underhanded moments are the best. It's safe to say that I'm in love with love after reading this one.

I loved How I Met Your Brother! It just viciously stole the top spot for being my favorite book. I started reading at midnight, thinking that I would just read a few pages and go to sleep. I should have known better! Two hours later, I stopped lying to myself about finishing just one more chapter, and admitted that I was going to stay up to finish it. My sleep deprivation was so worth it! The romance was sizzling, yet sweet, and the humor had me grinning and stifling my laughter.

When Belle finds out that her old crush and her ex-best friend are divorced, she thinks that fate has cleared a way for her to win him over. She happens to go to the same resort that his family is staying at in Cancun, and there meets his twin brother, Flynn, who she mistakes for Marco. Sparks fly, until she realizes that Flynn is not Marco after all.

I loved Belle and Flynn! The chemistry between a those two (fanning self now)! I loved the chemistry, but also felt like they got to know each other well, even over such a small period of time. When I first heard about this book it was pitched as a cross between While You Were Sleeping and Sabrina. That was pretty accurate. It had similar elements with Belle having a crush on Marco, who despite being friends with in college, she still hadn't known too well. I loved watching her realize that she had spent all of this time pining for the wrong brother.

Read it!

How I Met Your Brother is part of the Power of the Matchmaker series, all involving a mysterious woman named Pearl. Each book can be read independently, and in any order.

This book was so much fun. Rallison is just an awesome author. She can make a book fun with an interesting plot. She knows how to write great chemistry between the love interest. She always keeps it PG but it is so fun to read. I can hand these to my teens and they love it.

I loved, loved, loved this book! It hit my sweet spot for the romance cravings. I love when Janette Rallison writes adult romance books. (well, I do love her other stuff too).

While this is part of the Matchmaker series, it is a stand alone novel. Miss Pearl doesn't play a big part of this story at all. Just a glimpse at the beginning and then again at the end. I almost forgot while reading this was part of that series. It doesn't matter though, because I loved it.

This book was fun and flirty with great characters. It had all the things I love in a lighthearted, take me away, romance. And today I'm feeling a desperate need to be on a beach in the sunshine. Alas, it is not to be. I'm in a land locked, full blown autumn place. It was nice to dream for awhile though.

Kindle unlimited has been my best friend the last month!

This is not a comedy. I didn't laught AT ALL. And the romance is seriously lacking. There was just too much drama and lies.
I hated most of the characters. First, Belle is a really pathetic girl, full of insecurities and who lives in the past. I mean, some random woman tells her that she should go to Mexico, so she could find the love of her life, AND SHE DOES IT. Are you serious right now? Like, who does that? Besides, she is supposed to reconnect with her college crush, who just got divorced. I mean, if someone told me that my college crush just divorced, my reaction would't be Belle's. I would say: Well, sorry/good for him, and forget all about it, because it has been like 8 years.
Marco, Belle's crush, is a complete imbecile. He obviously was never her friend, he only used her because she was smart. He is a selfish idiot, who belongs with his bitchy wife, Daisy. She was Belle's best friend, but it all ended after she started dating Belle's crush. Totally bitchy move. And she doesn't even care! She is the poor victim! She missed Belle's birthday, and she didn't even apologised. All she said was that Belle was jelaous of her life (her plain and boring life; she doesn't even work).
Then, we have Flynn. He lies to almost everyone in the story. He lies to Belle, pretending to be his twin brother, Marco. He spends time with Belle to keep her away from Marco, because Daisy wants to get back with him and somehow Flynn helps her. Even when she is a whinny bitch. But anyways, he is "forced" to stay with Belle, so she doesn't jump Marco's bones. But somehow, in like 2 days, he falls in love with her. Are you kidding me?

Conclussion: Do not read this. I had hoped otherwise, because what I had read of the author was pretty funny (and authors are like wine; they get better with time), but this was seriously awful.

This was so awesome. Isabelle is a fashion designer who discovers that her long lost love from college—Dawson—is recently divorced and heading to Cancun for a family reunion. When the idea is planted in her head to meet him there, she jumps on it and determines to regain what she once was too cowardly to fight for. She has always held a candle in her heart for Dawson and regrets letting her roommate steal him from her back in college. But now, she isn’t that shy, quiet, mousy girl she once was. She is beautiful and confident…and ready to fight for her man. The only problem for Belle is that Dawson’s twin brother doesn’t think his brother is ready to move on. He thinks maybe he jumped the gun and divorced too soon, and doesn’t want some new woman moving in and seducing him from the woman who truly holds his heart—his ex-wife. This had great twists and turns and romance out the wazoo. I couldn’t put it down once I started and gobbled it up faster than Thanksgiving dinner. This is part of the Power of the Matchmaker series…and I absolutely loved it. It’s a winner.

Dear Janette(may I call you Janette?),

I love your books, I love your writing style and I'm pretty sure you write all of them with me in mind. I just love a good tension filled story! Why don't we get them more often? I've been waiting for this book to come out and I was so excited when I finally had time to read it. I thought Flynn was swoon worthy for sure and I really liked Belle. They were so cute together. My only minor complaint was I felt the story was rushed. It could of totally been slowed down a bit and we could of even gone back to New York with Belle and Flynn and seen some of this story played out once he bought her design company. Maybe she doesn't forgive him right away and he worms his way back in while they are working together? I don't know. A week was just a little too much of a stretch for me. I did still love it however.

So as always thank you! Please keep writing!
Your friend,

Ok .. I think there must be a misunderstanding because I thought this book was written of my absolute favorite authors Janette Rallison .. this book was just a cheesy mess !!
I enjoyed the general premise of the plot and the confusion at the beginning between Belle and Flynn but towards the half of it I started to get so irritated .. Flynn is a compulsive liar, he can't say any truth even if his life depended on it, but never fear my friends we got the stupid heroin for the rescue .. Belle, the desperate love sick girl who can't get over her college crush who MARRIED her best friend !! and in a span of two freakin' days viola ... switch the crush to the twin brother, I do admit there were some good moments but the overall story was so disappointing, I expected more from a Janette Rallison book :(

I got so into this book I used text-to-speech on my Kindle so it could read it to me for most of it. Isabelle Lind (Belle) fell in love with Marco Dawson in college when they were in a study group together, but he only thought of her as a friend and married her roommate, Daisy. Fast forward 7 years Belle is a fashion designer living in NYC. After leaving an after-show party Belle runs into Miss Pearl (a.k.a The Matchmaker) who tells her 1) that Marco's recently divorced and going to Cancun for a big family reunion 2) "Lucky people create most of their luck", and 3) she thinks Belle needs a vacation. Belle goes to Cancun to meet up with Marco, but unbeknownst to her Marco has an identical twin brother, Flynn.
Flynn gets a call from his former sister-in-law, Daisy, asking him to help her try to get back together with Marco. He agrees to not tell his brother that his ex-wife is coming to the family reunion, and if there's not enough going on add it that Marco, Flynn and their two sisters are keeping the divorce a secret from their parents because of his mother's illness. This is going to be one heck of an interesting week.
I enjoyed the interactions between all the characters. Belle and Flynn (who at first pretends to be Marco) have such witty and humorous dialogue. Flynn is a high powered business man who makes deals for a living so he tries to make a deal with Belle so Daisy can try and get closer to Marco, but Belle's no dummy and keeps finding loopholes. One of these loopholes causes it's own set of problems. It takes awhile but Belle's eyes are finally opened and Marco falls from the pedestal she'd placed him on.
I thought this was a super fun read. There's some innuendo at the beginning of the book during the fashion show but otherwise it's a clean read with just some kissing scenes.

Pleasantly enough, I enjoyed 'How I met your brother.'

I thought Flynn was manipulative, sly, slightly condescending and duplicitous at times. He was also charming, cunning and sweet at points.

I wish we got more of that softer side, and a greater disclosure of his feelings.

The original lies hadn't bothered me, i.e. pretending to be his brother. But surprisingly the build-up did, the careless way he would undermine Belle, yet reprimand her all the time. I was waiting for the point where he does stand up for her.

To Daisy. To his brother. His mother.

Fair enough Belle pursuing his brother who has gotten out of a relationship was wrong. Misguided even more so when she knows his ex-wife, Daisy wanted Marco back.

Yet, the motivations behind it was understandable. Daisy did betray Belle's confidence and friendship, the extent perhaps magnified by her 'first-love' lense. But I just wanted him to stick up for her, because he understood her. Not just pacify her behind closed doors. That would have shown something about how he felt about Belle. Daisy hurt her, and subsequently disregarded her feelings at the time even though Belle should have gotten over it.

It ended sweetly. There were a few gaps in the story that needed to be cleared up. Small ones - almost unnoticeable - but I am me. I felt a little bitter at the end.

How I Met Your Brother is another fantastic addition to the Power of the Matchmaker series. This time Pearl's presence is very minimal, but considering where the story goes, it would have been strange having her show up in Cancun after how she inspires Belle to go there in the first place. As always Janette does an amazing job with her characters. Flynn was instantly likable. I really liked Belle too. I loved learning more about design and fashion from her eyes. She was very smart and savvy. I thought the plot was executed perfectly. While reading, things would happen and I would think how great Janette moved the story along effortlessly, all while keeping me interested and wanting to see what happens to these great characters. I read this book very quickly and was eagerly anticipating how it would end. One character that I loved the most was Flynn and Marco's mother. I was thrilled with some decisions she made at the end, I actually got teary over that part. The romantic sparks between Flynn and Belle were perfect and written well, and their kisses were... WOW!

5 out of 5 stars. Great, great job Janette!

4.5 stars - I had a hard time putting this one down. Went to bed wayyy later than I should have but I don’t regret those lost hours of sleep one bit.

This story was perfect in every way. The characters were fun and sweet. They had depth and were very relatable. I really liked Flynn and Belle’s meet cute. It was so funny and I really liked their chemistry. This story could have gotten cringy really fast because siblings, not to mention twins, were involved but I thought that the author executed it well. There was no unnecessary drama, no unrealistic scenarios. Everything just progressed smoothly and sweetly.

I really enjoyed this story. It was super sweet and the family reunion setting made it even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to read from this author again.

Favorite quote: “The first outfit Belle modeled was business casual; her second, business-not-so-casual. The third, business-if-you-want-to-seduce-your-boss, and the fourth, business-as-a-call-girl.”

Loved this one! What a fun twist to a book. Belle goes to Cancun to try to snare the now single Marco Dawson, who she knew in college....but who she meets is really his identical twin Flynn. Ah...Flynn. Loved every minute of it.

Moral Note: Some passionate kisses, talk of cheating in marriage, no details, mild talk of not sharing hotel rooms because his parents expect him to wait for marriage.

What a fun escape! Full of fun, flirty romance. I loved Flynn and liked Belle... I just thought that she came off a little pathetic at first with the whole Marco thing, which I didn't love. But otherwise, I loved everything about this book! Left me smiling. :)

Any fan of Rallison's or a fan of clean romance will definitely enjoy this one!

This was fast, fun, and fluffy. I was a bit skeptical about the twin thing, but the switcheroo shenanigans were over with almost as soon as they had begun. Marcus was meh; Flynn was fantastico.

Feel-good contemporary romance. Secular and clean.

Good but frustrating.

I'm not quite finished, but I will be soon and I just can't let go of this irritation that I have with what the author has done to Belle. I believe Belle had/has an extremely valid reason for her disappointment and hurt feelings regarding Daisy. If someone is your best friend, close friend or boyfriend you should never betray them. You should NEVER invalidate their feelings to get/have what you want. With regards to the situation, Daisy KNEW exactly what she was doing and never once felt regretful, ashamed or contrite for betraying her supposed best friend. If she were a true friend (instead of a selfish hag) she would not have handled the situation in that manner. I'm tired of hearing Belle say she wasn't selfish- Daisy by actions and words is selfish. Everything she has done has been rash and thinking only of herself. I am not okay with Belle conceding the hurt done to her by Daisy as if it were of her own making. It was not. This is wrong. She should NOT be blaming herself for what happened. This is a huge problem with who the character is and I don't agree that she would think this. Nothing in what has been shown of Belle has made this possible...it conflicts with who we have been told she is. I would seriously love this book, but the author made Belle untrue to herself. No matter the outcome, I disagree vehemently that Belle would think these things.

Anyhow, overall it was cute. It was really short though. Not enough "meat".

I disliked Marco- what he did seems cold hearted toward Belle (he knew and he did that to roommates?) and I'm not okay with them in the epilogue.

Flynn was so dishonest and it felt like he never stuck up for Belle...not a huge fan of that.

Daisy- just no. I did not like her one time.

The main premise of this book is that Belle had a huge crush on this guy in college when her roommate and best friend stole him away. Now, years later, Belle is a hot fashion designer and her old roommate is getting a divorce leaving her an opportunity to snag her one, true love. Do I sound like I’m being dramatic. I am!! Belle’s scheme seems to call for it. The matchmaker pushes Belle to go to a resort, interrupt a family reunion, and claim her man. Instead of finding the brother, she finds his identical twin, Flynn, who is trying to patch up his brother’s marriage for his mother who is dying of cancer. Soooo…he impersonates his brother and the soap opera-ish craziness continues.

I think you probably picked up on the fact that I did not love Belle. I did come to like her, but never really felt like she was justified in what she did. There were just a lot of get-over-yourself moments for me.

Flynn I understood more. Perhaps because he was the peacemaker of the family? I’m not sure. He was pretty stupid in places too, but he seemed more justified. Heck, he was trying to save his brother’s marriage. Which definitely needed help, though the brother was a bit of a piece of work himself.

Overall, I would say this book had some really great romantic comedy moments, but turned overly theatrical at times. If you like crazy, convoluted family dynamics, you’ll like this book. If you like a couple that seems destined to be together despite said craziness you’ll probably love it.
