I've been a writer, one way or another, all my life. Before I could read, I made up poems and my mom wrote them down for me. In elementary school, my teachers almost always let me write poems or stories instead of requiring me to do art projects. Always, I dreamed of becoming a published writer...and that dream came true! I write novels about sexy, powerful men and independent-minded women, and what happens when they find each other and fall in love. My books are sexy and romantic, and they've very often full of romantic suspense. I write the kinds of books I love to read, and I hope that makes my readers happy.

Re Spring Bride - Sandra Marton's final entry in her Landon's Legacy series is about the misunderstood and coddled in cotton wool little sister who was left behind at home while her "Deadeye Defender" brother's went off and conquered the world.

The h is not a happy camper when the book starts, her overbearing misogynist brothers don't seem to realize that she had it just as bad as they did growing up. She too was forced into a mold by their father, that of the perfect, adoring daughter who was to have no thoughts of her own and had to work overtime to keep the peace in the family between her father and her brothers.

The h has inherited a house she hates and money that she isn't really all that keen on, wanting to have some freedom for once, she decides to take off on a cruise. She winds up getting robbed and almost attacked, but she is saved by the H at a critical juncture.

The H and h have met before at a charity dinner. The h and H were hit by the Lurve Force Mojo at first glance, but the H's illegitimate half Mayan heritage carries some big baggage and the h has the domineering father baggage of her own.

Instead of calling her brothers or the consulate or her bank and getting her funds and her papers replaced, the h gives into the Lurve Force Mojo call and goes to the H's island in the Caribbean. The H is convinced that all wealthy women are just like his former socialite lover, who totally ditched his hiney due to his uncertain peasant background.

Therefore he is going to make the h work her way out her mess, he figures being a maid will take care of her hubris nicely. That lasts for a few hours, but the heat generated by the Lurve Force Will Not Be Denied and the H and h wind up hitting the love shack and revoking unicorn grooming licenses instead.

The h then dumps the H after a suitable amount of boudoir bouncing, she thinks he is trying to control her and take over her life, just like her father. When the h tries to explain that she needs to be able to care for herself, the H gets all bent out of shape and sends the h home - he conveniently got her passport and her visa replaced in between bedroom romps.

The h goes home and signs up for computer classes and hosts her brothers and their new wives while she has her SM required mopey moment over the H. The h's brother's come rushing home because the h tells her father's henchmen to take a jump when they start trying to patronize and criticize her for changes around the house and wanting to set up a charity scholarship foundation for Native Americans. The brother's realize that they have been unfair to their little sister and let her join the "Deadeye Defenders" clique.

Meanwhile the H is thinking dark thoughts of his own and one of his advisers tells him about the h's father's company being for sale. (SM kinda lost the thread of her previous books here, because she includes the movie studio and the oil company from the previous books as being for sale when the H's from those books had bought them for their new wives. We do learn that the H and h from Hollywood Wedding made a blockbuster, but no details.)

The adviser claims that the h and her brothers are selling cause they don't want to work for a living, so the H decides to ruin the father's company. There is a big H and the h's brothers confrontation where the H tries to lowball bid the company out of the brother's control, then he tells them to give their sister his regards.

The h hears about the H's low bid and threats when her brother's return and she goes to confront the H. The h yells at the H that her brother's don't need the money from the company,it is all going to charity and that the H is being a controlling as her father because she wouldn't stick around to be ordered about.

After another roofie kissing moment, the H explains that he was trying to ask the h to marry him, not turn her into a doormat cow and she admits that she loves him back. The H asks the h to marry him again and then makes her promise not to become a cow. The h joyfully says yes.

We get a little epilogue where two of the brother's wives are preggers, one is having twins, the other brother and his wife are going to stay in one place and start their own family and the h has her wedding to the H, for the long awaited ending to this series and another HP day at the office HEA.

This one wasn't too bad, the h was kinda young and immature, but the H was pretty hooked on past baggage too. The tart shaming wasn't as awful as the first three books and this was a pretty standard HP outing.

This has to be my least favorite book in the series, I found the heroine acting immaturely just for the heck of it. Her father died and she is 22 and free to do whatever she wants but she doesn't know what, so she takes a cruise, without telling her over-protective brothers & then behaves in TSTL fashion, she is robbed in a country she doesn't know, almost attacked and when the judgmental hero comes to her rescue doesn't tell him she has no cash and is deposited by a taxi in the middle of nowhere, but does she go to the police? No.

She could have called any of her brothers or her banker for help, but she has pride and wants to do things on her own, so she goes to the hero's private island and agrees to work off her debt there.

The hero is another judgmental guy, thinks she is one of those wealthy women who thinks she is too good for him. He has a chip on his shoulder coz of not growing wealthy and then a rich girl who used him. Of course there is mis- communication and he comes to take revenge and learns differently.

I was kind of "meh" through this book.

4 1/2 Stars! ~ Kyra Landon had always been Daddy’s Angel, or her brothers’ Little Sister or just plain ole’ Squirt. Their father had been a tyrant and she’d always played the peace keeper, diverting her father’s attention away from her brothers to spare them his wrath. Finally free from her father’s smothering attention, she takes a spur of the moment cruise and ends up stranded in Caracas having been robbed of her purse containing her money and her passport. And to her rescue comes Antonio del Ray, a brute of a man who once had the audacity to say she lusted after him. Forced to accept his help, she ends up on his private island and finds herself unable to resist his magnetism. Antonio despises rich pampered blue blood brats, and he sees this as his opportunity to knock Ms. Landon down off her pedestal. But there’s something about the way this skinny woman defies him that ignites his passion.

What a treat! We’ve had hints in the previous books of this series that Kyra is unhappy and trying desperately to get her brothers to see that she has dreams and a mind of her own. It was wonderful to see her finally take charge and stand up for herself. Antonio grew up with a huge chip on his shoulder, one that he thought he’d shed. Kyra threatens to take his heart, and out comes the chip and sparks fly! I love the passionate intensity of these two. Very well written and a wonderful wrap up to the series. A great read!

It’s obvious that Charles Landon’s four children had no wish to inherit their father’s wealth. In book three, Grant shares these thoughts with Zach. “It means that not a one of us had the brains to figure out that the real Landon legacy wasn’t Landon Enterprises at all. … Some fathers teach their sons to play ball or to fish, but the lesson we got from ours cut a lot deeper. The old man taught us never to believe in anybody or anything – especially love.” It was wonderful to see each of the Landons overcome the legacy and find their HEA.

I disagree with Saly in her review. I thought this was the best one among the series in Landon's Legacy. Kyra is a strong character who refused to bind anymore among any circumstances after her domineering father's death. I think she though herself mature enough now to tackle her own life and decisions, but we as readers still feel she is still insecure and immature sometimes. I loved Antonio and his helplessness in falling in love with the heroine despite her character. Very engaging and beautiful.

This book was okay. There were a lot of parts where the heroine acted like an idiot and totally did things that only an HP heroine would do. A real life person in her situation would have told the hero that she was stranded and asked him to take her to the consulate for help. The hero had a massive chip on his shoulder that made him do some immature things. But the heat between the two was well done and I liked watching their crazy antics.

It was a good story but not exactly my favorite. I found the heroine's childish and the Hero's a judgemental prick. But overall I enjoyed the story, just not as much as I wanted to.

I really enjoyed reading this book, however, I wished it didn't take them so long to reunite.

I did not like that hero was very attracted to heroine on first seeing her and went and slept with his blonde date and he recalled it with relish when meeting heroine again weeks later (I get that he had the right to sleep with the blonde and there was animosity towards heroine and he never planned to see heroine again he even despised her, it just bothers me especially him recalling sleeping with the blonde in his memories). I didn't really like heroine she was rude to staff, she even called his housekeeper "old croon", also yelled at waiter across the restaurant to change her order (she could have excused herself and went to the waiter herself). Also the whole her being his employee to get home thing was ridiculous her brothers are rich and could get her home, she even could have gone to the American Embassy. There was a 5 month separation at end and hero did not indicate one way or the other if he slept with other women during that time. Np.
