Ballroom Dancing was a book that was a total bore right from the start. This book was lacking in excitement, the tension of the competition, the colorful beautiful clothes, and the sensual music. The author had no idea what he was doing when he agreed to write this book.
In typical hoity-toity British detail, the technique of formal, competitive ballroom dance technique is detailed in the most precise, details, and complicated fashion to boggle the mind! It is the "Bible" of the English competitive technique. Just a correction here, though, because I didn't "just start reading" this book. We became interested in Ballroom Dancing in 1988 and the techniques described in this book are those in which we have endeavored to emulate ever since! This is not a book "you read" and then put away. The techniques of Ballroom Dancing are those practiced by amateur and professional alike and that learning process is never-ending!
