Perfectly suited for me: an art book enriched by zoological knowledge, entertaining storytelling, historical asides, indigenous mythology, and Utah rootedness. I’m glad I held on to this gem for nearly 2 decades, and even more happy to have *finally* enjoyed it fully!
Gratitude to whichever art teacher (Eileen Brown or Pat Eddington?) that brought me into contact with this artist and whoever bought me the book and posters 👏 And of course kudos to Carel for living such a crazy interesting life and creating such incredible art of nature’s biodiversity!
