I swore a solemn oath that saw to the end of the Cormacs, a family of hunters that persistently sought to rid my coven’s existence.

For years we have lived in the shadows, free from hunters and the weapons of wood that could destroy us.

My pledge to my family is now a promise to protect the woman I love.

Sooooo, It’s cool, I’ve just fallen hopelessly in love with a sexy as sin vampire – that happens every day right?? Ladies, hold tight to your beating hearts because Julian Deveraux is going to devour you whole!!

PNR isn’t usually my thing, well not since Twilight if I’m honest, but there was something about this book that pulled me in. Maybe it was the title, the trailer or the blurb that captivated me, but I can truly say that this gorgeous story of forbidden love was timeless in its beauty, so perfectly written to span the decades of time & it pulled me in hard & fast, never to let me go.

Julian – Oh be still my aching heart. This man is dangerous, yet so utterly delicious in every single way. Turned by his maker hundreds of years ago, he has lived an existence ravaged with war. Hunting & killing the Cormac clan who threaten his kinds very existence. Oaths have been spoken, promises have been made & to this day he has lived by every word. Until Lia, the beautiful, innocent, mouth-watering human that totally captivates him. The desire to consume her, to mark her & own her is as powerful as the desperate thirst for her blood that consumes him. Fate is cruel though as he uncovers her secret, a one so powerful it could destroy him. Julian knows choices have to be made, the question is will he follow his stone-cold heart or his head.

Aurelia (Lia) is sweet, innocent & sunshine. Having found herself living back in the house she grew up in, she realises that somethings aren’t quite as they once seemed. Struggling with her loneliness she can only hope her life can be different now she has returned. Then she meets him – Julian Deveraux & her world spins out of control. From the first moment their eyes lock she knows her heart is lost him. This man makes her pulse race & her panties melt – she has never wanted or lusted after a man so much. As their connection grows stronger, she doesn’t realise how much danger she is in, nor understands the war that rages in this beautifully captivating English man. She senses his light, she feels his love, all she can do is hope that love will conqueror all & that the heart will always rule the head - because her life depends on it.

Their journey was epic & so beautiful it made my heart ache. OMG the tension, twists & turns in the plot had me holding my breath. Willa’s portrayal of Julian through the decades, really allowed me to understand this man & what his values & existence represents. His love is fierce, passionate & endless – seriously this is the kind of man you want to love you for eternity. Lia’s innocent love was precious, yet as her role developed, so did her inner vixen & sassy personality which made her inner strength & determination shine bright. Their attraction poured from the pages, with simmering sexual tension that exploded into some smouldering, lust fuelled moments – I was left more than left me a little jealous lol.

Seriously, I feel my own thirst for this genre has been reawakened. I can’t recommend this beautifully crafted book enough.

I feel as though I must start this review by saying I am not a PNR romance fan. If I'm totally honest I avoid PNR in book form however I'm a complete sucker for the Twilight and Underworld franchise. So imagine my surprise when one of my fave authors releases a PNR/Vampire romance. From the start I knew I had to read it, because its Willa and well her books are fantastic but I have to honest and say I had reservations. But I dug in and what followed was me becoming embarrassingly addicted to a Vampire named Julian Devereux.

I don't quite know how Willa did it, but from the prologue I got that little sizzle of anticipation, that little burn of fire that helps pull in us bookworms and keep us attached. That sizzle and burn never fleeted either, it never dulled. If anything it got stronger until a deep raging fire bloomed inside me. I found myself falling in love with a paranormal book. Now I know this book is classed more as a vampire romance but like I said for me, a non PNR reader, that was huge. And I suppose I have to give HUGE credit to Willa for not only writing a book that kept me addicted outside my usual genre but I also have to give her huge credit for the phenomenal way she wrote this book. In my opinion Willa is a diamond in the rough, an author who is still relatively small in comparison to some but could easily sit up there with the "bigger authors" her writing is flawless, her storytelling addictive and her deliverance powerful.

In A Sacred Vow we meet Julian and Lia. I really don't want to go into how they meet or how they fall in love or how they are almost ripped apart, literally. But what I do want to say is that these two characters are so intense, so sexy, so ridiculously sensual that if you don't get shivers from these two then I honestly think there is something wrong with you. Lia is a fantastic heroine, I absolutely adored her and her outlook on everything and how she was able to hold her own.
Julian is intoxicating. Addictive. A sensual, protective alpha male that singed me from the inside out, he made my pulse spike, my heart race and my head spin. I LOVED him and his old english gentleman ways. I don't know what else to say I just. I. LOVE. HIM. Okay? Good.

A Sacred Vow is a wicked, intense, deep soul tugging love story that just explodes from the pages and burnt everything inside me. A stunning 5 star read of forbidden love and passion that blooms into the most beautiful, breathtaking love.

Ever since I discovered JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, I realized that I have a deep and abiding love and appreciation for paranormal romances. I don't get to read them very often, but I enjoy the heck out of the good ones when I do.

Willa Thorne has found a new fan in me! I went into this book blind and was completely blown away. Anyone who was a fan of Buffy or Angel will enjoy this book. The entire forbidden/taboo love theme throughout this story was crazy hot. Traditionally, vampires and slayers obviously don't mix, but this author created such dynamic characters, set the scene for their scorchingly hot chemistry, detailed the struggles, that you can't help but root for them and their HEA. Add to that the way their rich history (though gruesome) was illustrated, the time the author took with character and plot development, and the edge-of-your-seat suspense, it's virtually impossible not to find pleasure in this story.

Lia was naive yet wise, strong, beautiful, loyal and kind. Julian was lethal, intelligent, considerate and honourable. Together they seemed unstoppable because Julian would stop at nothing to protect Lia. Throughout the story we see Julian fight his urges. Lia is a Cormack and he swore a sacred vow to eradicate them all. Between knowing he should kill her for the sake of his coven and wanting to keep her as his own, somehow he fell hopelessly in love with her (and she him). It's no longer about how to get rid of her, but about what he'll have to do and who he'll have to kill to keep and protect her.

5 Insanely "Blood-Thirsty" Stars!!!

Ok, first of all I have to preface this review by saying that I'm not a HUGE PNR fan...I have read some in the past and I did kind of enjoy them, but I can honestly say that it's not a genre that I would normally gravitate to! Having said that, HOLY FREAKIN MOLY!!!! If I had read more of them like A Sacred Vow, I wouldn't read anything else!!! This book....wow, just WOW!!! Willa Thorne has written an epic, and I mean EPIC novel that had me swooning over one Julian Deveraux!

Julian has sworn a vampire's blood oath to eliminate all Cormacs from the face of the earth in retribution for almost decimating his "makers" coven and thought it had been accomplished decades earlier....until he meets Aurelia (Lia) Galligan, innocent descendant with the telling Cormac birthmark! The instant attraction and chemistry between them is insane and when Julian discovers her connection to the hated clan he plans her demise...but fate has an altogether different plan in store for them!

This fantastic story held me enthralled from the first chapter right to the end of the incredible epilogue!! And speaking of the epilogue, OMG, I cried big, fat, UGLY happy tears!!! I can't wait to read more about Julian and Lia, hopefully, in the NEXT book from Willa....perhaps about Julian's pain-in-the-neck (pun intended ;) ) bestie Nolan? Did I sense a little attraction between him and Lia's sister Jamie? Or Nolan's brother Jesse and Evie, Julian's sister? I can TOTALLY see a series here...yes, please!! I never thought I would EVER say this about a PNR novel, but THIS one is in my top reads of 2016...a definite MUST READ!!!

I am a massive fan of paranormal romance. It is one of my most favourite genres. I was so excited when I saw a mention of this book. I knew I had to read it because it combines my most favourite things in a book, paranormal romance and vampires. I was so stocked. I do love paranormal with vampires. Written by Willa Thorne, A Sacred Vow is a captivating paranormal romance with sexy vampires and some hot action.

Julian is a vampire who hates the Cormac bloodline of hunters and has eradicated them all. He meets Aurelia a spunky woman who he becomes attracted to. He falls in love with her and turns out she is a Cormac. He finds himself torn between his vow to his coven or protecting the woman he loves. I loved this story so much. Holy Smokes, it had the right action, drama and love you would want in a paranormal romance. I was in awe with plot. It was different than all the vampire books I read. I also loved that A Sacred Wow had me on the edge of my seat. It was seeping with so much suspense that it made my heart pound so fast with excitement. A Sacred Vow reminded me of The Originals(a favourite TV series of mine about vampires) and Twilight combined but with an interesting flair and uniqueness that totally mesmerized me. I loved that Willa Thorne wanted us to enjoy the plot more and added the sex scenes less. It was genius and elevated the story to another level. There was more sensuality and passion within the pages that I was so blown away by it.

A Sacred Vow had a touch of forbidden love that added intensity and so much angst to the story. My eyes were glued to it. There was just that unique flair that was pure majestic.

I have a saying when it comes to characters. I always say the characters make the book. The characters gave a distinctive edge that truly brought a bold dynamic to the story. Aurelia was such a fantastic heroine. She was spunky, fun, sassy, sarcastic and also a strong woman. She had a vulnerable edge that was not weakness which I just loved immensely. Oh Julian. I loved loved loved Julian. He was a true alpha to the core. Dominant without being too overboard, possessive, protective and had a touch of male intensity that was spoke so much volume. I swooned. Yep, Julian is my vampire. I have fallen in love. Julian and Aurelia had that genuine chemistry that made this book so lovable and enjoyable.

A Sacred Vow has become one of my favourite paranormal romance reads. I cannot wait what Willa Thorne comes up with in this series. I know it is going to be epic.

A sacred vow

So it's taken me a good few hours to come down from the blissful cloud I was floating on after finishing this book, seriously was not expecting to be left feeling like this after reading this book I'm not the biggest paranormal fan going at all but just WOW this book was quite simply fanfluckintastic!!!!!!!!!!!

Julian deveraux mmmmm I want me some off him, part of the coven that took a sacred vow to decimate all that belong to the cormac blood line a vow so sacred and binding to him and his coven until Aurelia Galligan enters his world and turns his world upside down making him question everything he is and everything he stands for.

The sparks and chemistry that flow from the pages of this book consume you the sheer lust and passion that radiates from Julian and Lia ignites a fire deep in your soul and leaves you in complete blissful state.

Will a sacred vow compel Julian to follow in everything he has stood for or will the feeling of true love run deeper than he could ever imagine, there journey is not a simple one and are faced with challenges along the way that will test them both and will tug on your heartstrings along the way.

An absolutely stunning read from Willa Thorne and cannot wait for the next instalment.

I'm not really sure what I expected from this book but it surpassed my expectations, paranormal isn't my first choice of genres but I may have been converted. If you like stories about vampires, vampire hunters you'll love this, throw in forbidden love and you have all the ingredients for a great story.
Julian WOW he's everything you think of in a centuries old vampire, handsome, successful enigmatic and addictive. Lia is the typical girl next door, she's full of insecurities but you can see what a good person she is.
Julian has made a vow to rid his world of his enemy the Cormac bloodline which Lia has no idea she is a descendant of but when they meet he is drawn to her on an emotional level.
I loved all the turmoil that Julian is feeling he is caught between his loyalty to his family and his love for Lia. Can they be together, will his coven let her live?
This is the first book by this author that I've read but it won't be my last.

If you're looking for a suspense-filled PNR novel, you've hit the mother load with ASV!

Julian. A super sexy name for a super sexy dude! Julian is extremely yummy. Lia is your average around the way girl and his life mate. Lia will make him question every aspect of his supernatural existence. Their journey is a dark and deadly one and until the very end, I had no clue what would happen! But oh what an ending!

I love how their story unfolded and flowed. From the day Julian and Lia came in contact with each, you as a reader, are in the midst of the drama and angst! Character development, scene development, and subjects connect and flow nicely. I know readers will enjoy Lia and Julian. It's a very suspenseful gray read!

Wow.
I went into A Sacred Vow expecting a great book, even though I am not a huge fan of vampires. I'm so glad that I didn't let that deter me, becuase this book is exactly what romance is made of. Vamiric darkness, compelling characters, and love that transcends all make this read amazing. Julian has a firm place in my top-ten heroes from this day forward. Devotion, adoration, and sexy as hell, Julian's love for his Lia melted me completely. Lia is not a girl you mess with, despite the loss she has suffered, our heroine is spunky and fiercely loyal.
This story is completely enthralling, sucking you out of your favorite reading spot and into the dark world of Julian Devereux. You lose reality, just briefly, and fall in love with the story, the conflict, and red-hot lust of Lia and Julian.
After more than 200 years as a vampire, a hunter, a predator, the weakness he feels for Lia floors him. She makes him weak, so weak that the vow he made years before her birth don't matter. The tangible chemistry, burning desire, that sparks between Lia and Julian leaves you begging for more.

I give this book 5 magnificent, all consuming stars. Willa ventured out and wrote her first paranormal book and she nailed it. This book is perfect from beginning to the end. She has poured her heart and soul into every single word and it shows immensely. You would never know this was her first book outside of contemporary. The heat factor is scorching. The storyline is amazing. The details will draw you in and have you turning those pages so fast that before you know it, its over and you're left wanting more.

When the hunter becomes the hunted how will it all play out. Lia may not know of her hunter lineage but the vampires don't care. They believe she must be destroyed. Can Julian protect her as the vampires that belong in Julian's coven seek her out with the intention of ending her life?

This is a definite must read for vampire lovers or anyone who loves a good book. This one will appeal to all readers regardless Iif you've read paranormal before or not. Get ready to go on a fantastic journey that will ignite your senses.

Willa Thorne's newest book was a fast-paced, really entertaining read for me! I have to admit that I wasn't as sure I'd love this as much as her Manhattan series books--because I LOVED those--but I was pulled into the spell of this paranormal world just as easily. Julian is the master of the vampires, along with all the wealth and prestige that come with the job--but there is a gorgeous humanity about him that Ms. Thorne paints with all the poetic and lyrical verbiage that is my crack in books like this. Every setting was detailed to the point that I could see it, also an element I really need when an author builds an alternate universe like this. Lia is the perfect soul mate for this man, a modern woman who nonetheless has the old-fashioned heart and loyalty and openness that Julian needs. "A lushly-built world filled with exciting, dynamic characters...vampire romance at its finest." -- USA Today bestseller Angel Payne

Paranormal.

Suspense.

Raw.

This book had me at the end of my seat and wanting more and more! The forbidden of it all is what kept me going!!

Let me start by saying that I don't normally do paranormal, I mean I will if it grabs my attention and this one grabbed my eye balls and held on tight! We meet Aurelia or Lia and Julian, the slayer and slayee if you will except it doesn't go that way at all.

Love.

It is always love that pushes through any and everything that has to do with these two. I was wanting more and mainly Julian, gah! He is all alpha, the kind that will singe your soul and make your toes curl.

I loved Lia and Julian together, I couldn't believe my eyes in some parts and I was just...hurt. I felt it all with them and how could you not. Just yes!

This is a new to me author. I'm so glad this book was recommended to me.
Julian hated the Cormac bloodline. He made a sacred vow to end them all that was a threat. What happens when he discovers his soul mate is from this bloodline? Will he see her as a threat or will he protect her against all others?

I loved Julian so much the love he has for Lia is timeless. This story ends in a HEA for now. It's not really a cliffhanger but there is more to their story. Steam factor 4. Reviewed by Alpha Loving Erotic Book Beauty Blog.

Lia is a girl with an unusual birth mark that she hates. She mets a dark, sexy stranger that she is pulled too. She doesn't know he's a vampire and her birthmark is something he hates....

That's all you get. I LOVED THIS. Was captivated from page one. I didn't want to stop reading until I knew what was going to happen. Willa did amazing with this. I loved the build up. It was sexy, keep me in.

Definitely brings back to older novels where vampires are scary, sexy and with lots of history to them. 5 stars I recommend it.

Entertaining! Love the premise for this one; the forbidden aspect is great! I enjoy a good enemies to lovers scenario. Vampire Julian meets Aurelia, who comes from hunter blood; the connection between these two goes above the feud between vamp and hunter. There's just a small problem; Julian has vowed to kill anyone with Cormac hunter blood, so there's some problems for these two. Unfortunately, there's a lot of differences in the way to happiness. I would've liked for Lia to be a bit more kick butt, but I liked her. Julian is cool too; he's having to think at things from a different perspective, which is difficult when he's used to following along with his coven. They are really sweet together; there's a bit of the instalove aspect, which I don't mind. I'm all for reading about a soul mate kind of love. Overall, I enjoyed how the story unfolded, and the vibe to the story.

Nicely written in the first person from both Lia and Julian's POV. This is an insta-love/lust steamy erotic vampire romance between a centuries old sexy male vampire and a pretty college student who is (unknowingly), from a family of slayers. There are college friends as side characters, information dumping and no valid explanation re the H/h's attraction for each other. There are old weapons etc in Lia's basement that point to her family vampire hunting (no big deal) and she goes to the library to look vampires up - a bit like Bella did in Twilight. I wasn't really invested in either the H/h, but it was an interesting, steamy read, if very contrived. There's a blend of lots of popular vampire themes/influences in this story. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.

When I first heard that one of my favorite authors, Willa Thorne, was taking a leap towards paranormal romance, I had no clue what to think. Part of me thought she'd lost her mind! LOL. I’m not a true fan of PNR. After Twilight, I had no interest in anything that involved vampires, werewolves, or whatever..... That is until Julian Devereux stole a little price of my heart! Good Lord! This man is the epitome of swoonworthy! I swear I went from thinking why in the hell am I reading this to I can't get enough! I need to know more!

A Sacred Vow is unconventional love story of Julian Devereux & Aurelia 'Lia' Gallagher. They are truly a match that never should have happened. Their love is completely forbidden. Lia is unknowingly the descendant of the vampire slaying Cormac family, and Julian is a vampire with a vendetta and sworn oath to ravage her family’s entire bloodline.

From the very beginning, this book was a PAGE TURNER! Willa leaves you in complete suspense from start to finish! I will warn you, if you have someplace to go or something to do at a certain time, do not attempt to read A Sacred Vow until after you’re done. This book will whisk you away for hours.

I won’t fill my review with a bunch spoilers, but I will tell you exactly what I love about these characters. CHEMISTRY!!! Julian and Lia’s chemistry is undeniable. Like a freaking moth to a flame!

Julian Devereux……….Whew! Julian Devereux left me breathless literally! I LOVE the way that Julian loves Lia! It’s raw, consuming, & intense. You know a man really loves you if he’s willing to kill, or give up everything for you. There’s no denying his love for Lia.

Lia Gallagher is a bit naive, but her sweetness is so endearing. She’s also loyal to a fault, strong than she seems, and loves Julian as passionately as he loves her.

This is a standalone book, but I have a feeling that this will not be the end for Julian and Lia. I’m looking forward to some cute little half vampire babies and whatever life has in store for this couple, as well as Nolan, Felix, Jamie, Evie, and Gideon.

Do yourself a favor, and buy this book PRONTO!! You won’t be disappointed.

PNR is one of my favorite genre and when I heard that this author was doing a PNR book I couldn't wait to read.

I dive to it without expectations, I didn't even read the blurb,I wanted to enjoy the story without thinking about what was gonna happen or if the plot was similar to other books and I have to say that I'm glad that I did this way. Willa outdid herself with this one, the plot was so well thought out and written to the point that it felt like you were there with the characters. For me the plot was just perfect and I have to give it to her to do an PNR where the main focus isn't the sex, it seems that every paranormal character can't contain his/her urges, that most of the times distract the reader from the plot and for me are just filler to get to a word count. That the sex scene were few (but don't worry the sex scene are worth the wait , they are scorching HOT) and not excessive give me the time luxury to really connect with the character and enjoyed the book so much more.

I really hope that there is a sequel or maybe another book, because I think these two and also the secondary characters are worth telling their story.

A Sacred Vow tells us the story of Julian Devereux - a 246 year old vampire.

Julian was turned in 1770 by his great-great grandfather, Gideon. Since then, Julian has been a part of Gideon's Coven, as later were his younger sister, Evie, and his childhood friend, Nolan.

Being a vampire, Julian killed (and enjoyed killing) a lot of people, over the decades, in a attempt to satisfy his hunger for blood. Which caused him and the other vampires of his Coven to start getting noticed.

So, the Cormacs - a family of Vampire Hunters- appeared...

"The Cormac people had always been consumed in their deeply-rooted religious beliefs, and relentlessly trained their young to hunt my kind. They were a line of hunters, born and bred for a specific purpose: to eradicate my kind. They were persistently targeting my leader and the members of my coven, the Devereux vampires."

The Cormacs fought back against the vampires and ended up killing many of Julian's Coven members, his friends and family.

As a result, all the remaning members of the Coven made a Vow - They swore to kill all the Cormacs, to end their bloodline, to erradicade them all from existence!

...And so they did!

Fifty years later...

Julian is, as always, looking for a human to feed, when his eyes lay on his feed for the night - a beautiful curly haired girl named Aurelia Galligan

Aurelia (AKA Lia) and Julian feel instantly attracted to each other, and, though her blood drives Julian's hunger crazy, he wants more than just feed from her...

"I struggled, fighting the persevering impulse to sink into her flesh and hide the evidence. I’d brought her out here to feed, but something about her captivated me. I was curious why, after two centuries, I was intrigued with another mortal. And so I stalled, struggling with my instincts to hunt and kill, and my unexpected desire to know her."

"I never knew two strangers could have such exquisite chemistry, but when his mouth touched mine, I swear a spark ignited within my heart. It was surreal and explosive."

Soon, feelings Julian didn't know he could still feel, start growing towards Lia ... he's Falling in Love with her...

"...when I gazed into her eyes, she sucked me in completely. Physically, I was much stronger than any human, but in her presence, I was weak. Aurelia Galligan held such power over me, it was both intoxicating and frustrating as hell. When our lips locked, nothing else in the world mattered."

But what to do when Julian finds out that Lia is, in fact, a descendant of the Cormac bloodline!

"...I stared at the birthmark in a combination of awe, curiosity, and anger. I had killed the last of the Cormac hunters, the plague that hunted my kind (...) I hadn’t seen a birthmark like hers in fifty years, and my heart was heavy at the thought of the inevitable: I would have to kill her."

Julian knows it's his duty to Kill Lia, he vowed to ... but, still, that knowledge can't stop him from wanting to be with her, to protect her, to love her.

"My own reaction to Lia was disturbing. I knew what I should do, versus what I wanted. I couldn’t even bring myself to think about what I should have done hours ago. She’s the descendant of my enemies, and yet I wanted her- body and soul."

"Could I betray my family for this woman?"

Will Julian and Lia be able to stay together? Or will Julian's vow to his Coven speak louder? Will Lia be okay or will she end up dead?!

Read the book to find out :)

*************************************
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this book as much as I hoped to! :(

That was, mostly, because I expected a Forbidden, Strugling Love growing between a vampire and a vampire hunter... a story where enemies for decades, for generations, suddently, find themselves falling hard in love for each other - a kind of Romeo and Juliet with vampires to the mix - this was what I expected, but it was not at all what I got, in this book.

My main dislike in the book was: Lia's character.

I wanted a fierce, strong willed, corageous girl who is a vampire hunter. I expected someting like this:

But what I got ... what Lia really is, is this:

So, Lia is a inocent, harmless, little 22 year-old human who falls in love with a guy, she later finds out is a vampire.

Now, there were things in this book that made NO sense to me... like Lia's reaction upon finding out Julian is, actually, a fricking vampire?!

If it was Me:

Lia's reaction:

Does this make sense to you?!
(yes, I'd like to have his babies too ;) but Not if he wants to fricking Bite me AND Kill me! Safety first! :D)

The only thing I really liked in the book, that held me through the book and made me not actually Drop it was: Julian <3

Julian is a real vampire! No sparkling, goody-to-shoes, vegetarian vampires here! :)

Julian is the real deal and I enjoyed reading his POV (the book is written in Double POV) and seeing him struggle with his Vow and the feelings he had for Lia.

Still, Julian alone was not enough for me to really like the book... it could have been better constructed, it lacked momentum, emotion, climax... it lacked suspense... it would have been way better if it took more time for Julian to find out that Lia was of Cormac's lineage! It would have builded the feelings more, and there would have been more of a real struggle.

Also, although it was a bit explained as to why, there was too much of a insta-lust between the MC's. It did grow to love, but I didn't feel the love as much as I wanted to. Maybe it should have been developted in a slower way, I guess.

In conclusion, I didn't enjoy this book much, because I expected a different take on the vampire-human relationship and what I got was an average, predictable story. Also, as there was talk of a female hunter, I expected a badass, strong female character and that was not how Lia was.

Still, this is an okay, normal story and it isn't badly written, even if it is a bit predictable.

SO, if vampire love stories are your thing you might enjoy this book... I know you're gonna Love Julian for sure! So you might wanna give this book a try :)

A Sacred Vow reminded me of a classic love story. Two families at war and two young people find themselves in love. Except in this love story the man is a vampire who is well over 250 years old and the girl is a part of a family she didn't even knew existed.

Julian, a vampire, made a vow to the leader of his clan. His vow was to kill every member of the Cormac family that existed. While working on fulfilling this vow in 1896 he was cursed by an old woman that "the one he loved would be his greatest sacrifice." Many years later he would find out what that meant.

In present time, Lia was just moving back into her grandparents old house with her cousin and friend. Little did she know that she was about to meet a very dangerous and but exciting man that would change her life forever.

When Julian first met Lia he thought he was just going to have his dinner but there was something about her that he couldn't ignore. Once he saw the mark of the Cormac family he was horrified because now he had to contend with his vow.

A Sacred Vow was a great take on a vampire story. I loved that fact the Julian has this war going on inside of him. He was willing to go against his family and his best friend Nolan to save her. I really like Lia as well, she had been through a lot with her family and yet she still had a great attitude.

Willa Thorn has put a great twist on a classic love story. I look forward to seeing where she takes this series.

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book! I just finished and all I can say is I want more. I want to throw a temper tantrum and demand more! I freaking love Julian and Lia! There's so much I want to say about this story, but if I say to much it will give parts away. Parts that I just absolutely love about this story. So I'm going to try to do this without giving anything away. Julian has live a long life. Believing that he has done things for those that have wronged his kind. The problem is that what we do in the name of being hunted may not actually be how thing happened. Lia has no idea about where her family has disappeared to. Her grandmother passed on leaving Lia her childhood home in North Carolina. When a chance encounter with a handsome man turns into life altering changes and decisions Lia has to decide what she wants for her life.

Oh this story. I didn't want it to end. And when it did, I just wanted more. I want more right now in fact. I want to know that these two have a future one way or another. I want to know about other characters in this story. I just want it all and I want it now. Obviously that's not going to happen and I have to be patient, but this story is a great one. I'm just breaking into the paranormal romance books, but so far I have not been disappointed. I can't want for Willa to add to this story. I appreciate the chance to read A Sacred Vow and hope you love it as much as I did.

This is my first book by Willa Thorne, and her first PNR book. Now I read lots of PNR and love it, but this can be quite a difficult genre to write about, so was a little cautious going into this, as I have read some fantastic PNR series.

But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this. This was a really good read from start to finish. Well written story with some good twists in the plot.

Julian is the vampire, having taken an oath to destroy all the Cormac family who are killing his coven of vampires, meets Lia and is strongly attracted to her, more than he has ever known, but she turns out to be a Cormac family member, his sworn enemy, but as the passion fizzles, uncontrollable lust consumes them, can he really carry through on his oath and end her life?

Intense with a dark side, lots of hot passion, with steamy sexy scenes, angst, deception, lies and of course soul searching love, this book has it all. Great characters, Lia is strong, while she should be afraid of Julian she is not and stands up to him, and loves him beyond measure, able to see the good, human and light still within his darkness. Julian is super sexy, dark, dominant, protective and cannot believe what he has found with Lia, his vampire mate. I loved them.

A great read, definitely scope for more books from this, can't wait to see what comes next from Willa.

Firstly I would like to say that I have rated this book five stars but I wish I could have rated it more as it was fantastic.
This book is addictive and I enjoyed every minute of reading it.
This book starts off a crossover of the vampire diaries and Romeo and Juliet and turns in to a beautiful love story that will grip your heart and have you feeling many an emotion.
I absolutely adore Julian Devereux.
The rich British vampire is all alpha brooding hotness who you will love to curl up and spend a night with.
His coven has one sacred vow and that's to end the lineage of the Cormac vampire hunters who have made their life's hell for centuries.
Lia Gilligan is a pychology major who lost her dad at a young age and was brought up by his adopted parents and her brother Felix. She doesn't really know much about her parents.
One fated night Julian and Lia meet at an arts function and Lia feels a pull towards the delectable Julian.
This then sends them on an epic journey where they find out a lot about themselves and their families and they find out a curse could also be an blessing if you give it a chance.
This is a beautiful story by the wonderful Willa Thorne and I for one can't wait to read the next chapter in Julian and Lia's story.

I am a great fan of paranormal books. This book doesn't disappoint. It pulls you in and you find yourself in a world of hot alpha vampires fighting for what is right. I loved Julian, he is alpha male personified. He is a vampire that demands your attention. Julian has the lead of his coven and with that comes power. However, as is often the case, a strong woman brings him to his knees. Enter Aurelia. When I first met Aurelia I thought I was reading a New Age book, and let out a groan. I am so pleased I carried on, enjoying how this book unfolded and twisted and included a little bit a suspense.
Julian's coven is being hunted by the Cormacs. Julian sweared a vow to his maker, Gideon, to kill everyone in the Cormac line. Julian thought he had done this, until he mets Aurelia. He should hate her and kill her, but a true love and soul mate can't be killed.
For me this is a 4 star read as it is a little predictable - big vampire and sweet sassy female falling in love. But it does work and the story flashbacks regarding Julian becoming a vampire do help to make it slightly different. I would recommend A Sacred Vow to vampire lovers. This is Willa Thorne's first paranormal book and she's done a great job.

4 stars.

Another vampire book? While that is obviously a first thought, i am here to tell you, this is NOT "just another vampire book". I already was a fan of these mysterious creatures, but Willa took them to a whole other level! I asked myself these questions through out the book (over and over) Is that really how vampires were?? Are vampires really real?? Does Willa know a real vampire to know all this about them??? Where can i find myself a Julian?? How does she know all this?? She now has me believing in vampires. The story of Julian and Lia was passionate, real, loving, hot, and completely something i wanted more of. I loved that this story is set in modern day, not all in the olden days. The backstories were heartbreaking and beautiful all in one. The details were so amazing i could see this story as a movie in my head the whole time. I felt the characters feelings. I hurt their hurt. I felt every emotion that was going on. While Willa is already one of my favorite authors, this book is completely a different style for her, so it made me a fan of hers for a whole other reason. This is a must read!!

Though I have written negative reviews before, this one is rather hard for me to write. The writing itself wasn’t bad, the plot was intriguing; however, the character building and the insta-love threw me completely off this book.
In the beginning of the book you are introduced to Lia and her BFF? Or is it her cousin and her cousin’s BFF?
Nonetheless, they move into Lia’s grandparents’ home. There she finds a hidden door in the dark danky basement, where she has this unbelievable pull to…. Sit inside it? Honestly, I don’t know why she had a pull to this door.
Later on she is at an art exhibit, where she falls hopelessly in love with Julian.
The end.
I am a BIG fan of 1st person POV, it is my preferred book, I have put so many books down because they were not 1st person POV, with that being said, I absolutely disliked hearing the inner dialogue of the heroine. She grated on my nerves so bad that I am now reconsidering my love for 1st person POV.
Despite the negative things, it was still an ok book.

I am a big fan of vampire romance, and Willa Thorne has really done this justice.
This is the story of Julian Deveraux who was changed it to a vampire more than 250 years ago. His maker Gideon has ensured that the Cormac bloodline is to be terminated and Julian made a sacred vow to ensure this was done to the last living descendant, but what he didn’t know was that the curse put on him by a gypsy woman would finally be realised when he does meet the last of the Cormac line in Lia Gilligan.

Lia and Julian are soulmates which is very rare for vampires but she is also a Cormac, (which she doesn’t know about) and we see their journey from meeting a an art museum to declaring their love for each other whilst trying to stay alive from being killed by Gideon and his coven.

I can’t wait to see what happen next with Julian and Lia and also the stories of Nolan and Evie, and Felix and Jamie.

This was my first Willa Thorne book and I loved it. I haven't read a vampire romance since when Twilight was big. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I absolutely loved Julian. Such a gentleman, but lethal and fierce. I loved Lia. I could see being her best friend. She is strong and courageous. Their love was forbidden on all sides, but that didn't stop them. He should have hated her, but that hate turned into the greatest love he had ever known. He broke a family oath for that love. Julian fiercely protected Lia and Lia protected Julian. I really liked that we had the flashbacks to Julian's life before he was turned and before he met Lia. The ending was perfect. I am so glad that Julian finally opened up and showed Lia everything. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Julian the distinguished handsome English gentleman yeah right !!!!! looks can be deceiving let me tell you that !!!!

Lia Lia Lia, having new clue of who she is or where she came from her whole life was a lie !!!!!

In all honesty I think I wouldve preferred the book in Lia's POV rather than dual as Julian got on my nerves and annoyed me at times with the push and pull of his emotions. He was such an indecisive guy and I prefer my men to go after what they want. He did grow on me eventually as the book went on and I did start to like him but Lia stole the show for me and I connected with her from the first page.

If Twilight and The Vampire Diaries had a baby this book would be the result !!!!

As a huge PNR fan overall I thought it was an enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend it .
