Dangerous pregnancy!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍
Character development: 😊😅🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Lucien - he is a dragon shifter and Prince of the House of Smoke. For a dragon prince to be born, there were a bunch of requirements. Since it was an immortal magical creature carried by a human. the mother’s love had to be true for the sealing to take and to remain sealed throughout the pregnancy. Lucien had tried to create an heir before, and the human female died. He didn’t want that to ever happen again, though in order to keep to the treaty that protected the mortal world from the Dark Fae, he needed an heir.

The heroine: Arabella - she was a human woman, a lawyer with a strong constitution. She fought for herself against a demon in the first book of the series and that was how she found out that the supernatural world existed. She pretty much took it in stride and fell for Lucien and now is having his child.

The Story: Lucien still has flashbacks and bad dreams about another time and another woman who was having his baby, and they always end in blood and death, so he is afraid that the same will happen to Arabella. Though he knows her love is true, it has to stay true until she gives birth if she has any chance of survival. However, Lucien has given her reasons to doubt him and that is what scares him the most.

I didn’t like the fact that this book was part of a trilogy of Lucien and Arabella’s story. Since it began with Arabella already pregnant with Lucien’s child and they were living together. I had read the first book in the trilogy about a year ago. Though I never purchased the second book, I bought this one, thinking that each book was about a different couple, so I started this one not remembering much of book one and never having read book two.

I did like the fact that if Arabella survives the pregnancy, she will be basically immortal. She could survive almost anything including gunshots and she will live about 500 years or so, the same lifespan as Lucien. The characters were great as well. I liked the fact that Arabella’s best friend Rachel had grown up with her in foster care and they still told each other everything. Lucien’s dragon friend Kinney was so strait-laced and had a crush on Rachel.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. Joe has a deep gravelly voice that I really like, and he is great at doing different voices for different characters. Maxine has a clear, feminine voice and shows emotion through her voice beautifully. Both are terrific narrators.

ARC received from author

Picks right up from where the previous book ends (so stop if you haven't read them and go read them first)

The emotional roller coaster continues for Lucian and Arabella. Then we get hit with a blankity-blank cliffy.

Not going to get more of this series (maybe).

Most of this book until maybe 50% was annoying. Hence the 2 stars off. Lots of sex. Hotter than book 1, but with none of the good stuff I really liked about book 1 - H is a wuss. Needs constant reassurance. Slightly better than book 2 thank god. h is fine. But kinda lost her badass attitude somewhere along the way. BFF irritated the hell out of me since books 1 and 2. Finally redeemed herself toward the end with some bravery. Intrigue toward the end was more interesting than the first 50%. But not enough to make me directly order book 4.

Anyway, book 4 is about the man whore bro, which I very much dislike. Cover model looks pretty good, but... nope. Unfortunately Books 2-3 were not slam dunks.

Moving on...

3+ "Better than book 2."

This was a satisfying conclusion to Lucien's and Arabella's story. He wasn't as idiotic as he was in book 2. Problem... That pesky Winter Fea found a loophole in the treaty, so the world is still in peril. 😞 I'm out for now, but I think Leonidas may actually have an interesting story. So if I still think about this world in a week or two, I may read his portion of this series then. Happy reading!

This is the third book in this series and I really do recommend they are read in sequence as they always take up where the previous story ended. That also means I’ve got to be very careful or I’ll give away spoilers to the previous two books and I really don’t want to! Lucian is the eldest Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke and this story focusses on his relationship with his wife, Arabella, her pregnancy and the attempts made by others to endanger the lives of all three of them. Whilst this is an emotional journey, it is also an intriguing, action packed tale with new threats, new characters and new allies as well as enemies. There are numerous visitors seeking to confirm that Lucian and Arabella are True Mates and acknowledge that she is expecting the heir to reaffirm the treaty which keeps the peace between the different factions and protects humans.

As usual with this author, the story has plenty of action in every sense with well developed characters and an enthralling plot. The danger to Arabella and her dragonling aren't just from enemies . . . . The ending really sets things up brilliantly for the next trilogy in the series which will focus on Lucian’s brother, Leonidas and his mate. If you're over eighteen years old, enjoy well written, action packed, intriguing paranormal romances with a great cast of characters and ever developing plot, this will definitely appeal to you!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I think I may be in love!! This series has everything I need in a paranormal read.

1) Hot Hero with a big heart and an even bigger dick!

description

2) Heroine that is smart, savvy and doesn't make me wanna bang my head against something.

description

3) Ultimate manipulating bad guy that has no boundaries!!

description

4)Panty melting sex!

description

There are Dragons, Vampires, Demons, Fae, and Angels! Oh My!!

Too many paranormal books are so PG that the bad guys never die (I guess they go to shifter jail), and nothing bad ever happens to the good guys. Well this author isn't afraid to take a chance and kill people off which is what I kinda expect in the wild world of shifters. The HEA was fabulous with a little teaser to make me wanna read more.

Can't wait to read the 4th book. These dragon triplet Princes are yummy and beautiful but not perfect. They all have issues and I can't wait to learn more about Leonidas and Leksander!

Sorry, but I think it's tacky that the only way you can get book four in this series is if you subscribe. The end of book three say's,

I have never liked shady people and I don't bow down to shady authors. She could have sold the book and made it a choice to subscribe. It feel kind of like black mail; if you don't do this then you don't get this. If I truly like or love an author, I'll automatically subscribe on my own.

Well that was a bust. Though I did like the ending. The stuff leading up to that was meh. The sex was okay I suppose. I pretty much skimmed through it. And oh, a 6 week pregnancy? I'd take that if I were to ever have kids.

This installment had more action and more suspense...I quite enjoyed it!

***
Fire of a Dragon was more exciting than its predecessor mainly because there's more going on than just the romance. ;)

**There may be some minor spoilers ahead...

Lucian and Arabella have overcome all the obstacles thrown their way. They're united and now all should be good, yeah?

WRONG.

There are still forces at work against them and the treaty that would maintain peace and it was nail-biting excitement as I watched the events, trying to figure out what was going to happen, who was behind it, and why.

With danger, intrigue, and combat, oh, and some romance ;) Fire of a Dragon was a great listen.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell adeptly brought the story to life!

I listened to this book and I am glad I did because if I had been reading it I probably would not have finished it. There was a steamy sex scene at the beginning and the characters were likeable enough. I just do not feel that it ever got off the ground. There was some compelling action at the end which gave the story some redeeming qualities.
The female narrators voice and pronunciations were annoying to me. Every time she said the word"baby" I wanted to scream.
Anyway, it was worth listening to and I plan to move onto the next one at some point.

3rd and finaly book of Lucian and Arabella. I can't say these characters will be missed. I kinda glad it is over but is it really.?

The third book is based around Arabella being pregnant and staying safe. She has 6 weeks before the baby is due and Lucian doesn't want any unnecessary harm to come to her. But she starts having this high fever episodes.. What is causing it.? Noone really knows until; until Lucian believes that Arabella has doubts on his true love for her..... Does she? or is there something else that is triggering these fevers?

There was alot of biography on the House of Smoke and all the other convens; Faes, House of Summer, House of Winter, Angels, etc. I hate to admit but i did do some skimming. I probably missed out on some important information but it got lost in the over abudance of the biography. Can I have more first person story please?

The action/suspense was interesting. I still feel like Luican is a wuss. I mean he talks all strong and stuff but his actions just seem weak.
I think i enjoyed the last part of the book the most... minus the whole Luican and Tytus fighting. For dragons, that fight seemed weak and embarrassing.
The best part was at the end of the book - the final conversation between the Queen of House of Smoke and Zephrain. What a way to continue the series. I like it.

This book doesn't necessarily leave you in a cliffy. Luican and Arabella story is complete (though, i am sure they will be in the future books) but I acutally liked how the author set up the ending to continue the series for the other brothers.

To answer the question i asked initially, So is the series over? No it continues but its over for me. I did enjoy this series and would like to read the next book in line. Unfortunately, the next books aren't out yet. By the time they do, I prob. will have moved on and forgotten exactly what this series was about.

Dual POV.. and I do recommend.

What a great book another hot instalment for Arabella and Lucian. There's a baby in the mix, Larik named so after Lucians father. Tytus try's again to kidnap Ari...but is he working alone?he has humans infested with demons who can walk right through the defences at the House of smoke. Does Zephan have any hand in this kidnap attempt ...this book is full of great characters we learn a little more on the treaty of thousands of years and we see sadness after the demon/ humans fighting the dragons. Lucian and his family are trying to get over the loss of so many great dragons when Zephan again enters the Smoke house the throne room to be precise to inform Lucian that although he has found true love and produced a dragonling ( Larik) the treaty is far from safe. Lucian along with his triplet brothers Leonidas and leksander must each find true love and have dragonlings each in order for the treaty of peace to stay in place. The problem just got a thousand times worse than each dragon could imagine. Leonidas had been cursed by a witch never to find true love again and leksander is in love with an Angeling and she doesn't appear to return his feelings..... If they do not find true love the treaty is broken and then ..... Omg thanks Alisa for another great series X

Fire of a Dragon was a perfect ending of Lucian Smoke and Arabella Sharps mating story. I read this one in about 5 hours. I couldn't put it down. As you know after bk.2 Heart of a Dragon Arabella is pregnant with Lucian's baby Dragonling. This is the story of her 6 week pregnancy. It is wonderfully written. Full of lively events and some scary ones when the dragon fire take hold of her.. I fell in love with the unborn Dragonling who was named Larik after his grandfather. I just wish there more written after he was born to bond him with his parents and his family. Of course the Fae have more tricks to play which leads to the next brother Leonidas's 3 part story. Well I have to finish all the books don't I? if I want to know what happens and how matters are resolved. The only problem I had with this series is so far all the evil foes outsmart, outfight and seem to more advanced mentally then the dragons. I wish this was reversed. Don't get me wrong the Dragons win the day, but only after there butts have been kicked and they have to regroup. However, Fallen Immortals are worth the Journey!!
Happy Reading to those who chose to read the series.

Alisa Woods’ FIRE OF A DRAGON continues to be an exciting adventure. The story begins after book two, HEART OF A DRAGON left off. Arabella Sharp is now mated to Lucian, the Dragon Prince to the House of Smoke. Arebella is pregnant and still in danger. This contemporary PNR takes place in Seattle.

I like Arebella’s character. She is undergoing changes that put her life in jeopardy. She continues to be strong and devoted. Lucian is a noble hero. He cares deeply for and loves Arebella and his unborn child. Being next in line for the throne, he will make a great leader. My heart went out to him for his loss of Cara and how it now affects him.

Rachel is a protective and loyal friend. I like that Arebella and Rachel had been through a lot together through the years and are like sisters to one another.

Erelah is a fun character. She played an interesting roll. I’m hoping we’ll see more of her in future books.

Alisa Woods’ is doing a wonderful job with this series. It continues to be exciting with lots of twists. The characters have amazing chemistry and are likeable. The plot was carefully thought out and thrilling. There are interesting antagonists and circumstances. I love the loyalty of Lucian’s friends and family. I look forward to reading both Leonidas’ and Leksander’s stories. I like how FIRE OF A DRAGON ended. I am very interested in reading where Alisa Woods takes us next.

Again Loved it!!!

The third part to this amazing series is quite edge of your seat action packed and full of love.

Alissa Wood did not take the easy way out or the prettiest, but it was so worth it for the story we got!!!

I loved the emotional continuance of the relationship between Arabella and Lucian.

I loved how the story just continues on from where we left off without all the back story business. However the cliff hanger is a doozy, an incredible twist that you will love!!!

I cannot wait for Leonidas story OMG who will his lady love be and what will become of the future.

Time Flies When You Are Lost in A World of Magic!

I couldn’t sleep last night. I took a long mid-afternoon nap yesterday plus drank several cups of coffee before dinner and while I was dead tired at 9 P.M, by midnight I was wide awake. As I was lying in bed staring at the ceiling, enumerating every ache and pain, I decided I would finish book 3 of Alisa Woods “Fallen Immortals series”, Fire of a Dragon. I had left the book just when it was getting to another climatic scene. Planning to read for just an hour or so, I was surprised when I heard the neighbor’s rooster crowing and realized that it was almost 6 in the morning! Time flies when you are lost in the world of magic, warring Fae and Dragon- shifter clans.
Ms. Woods refers to her series as a “paranormal fairytale romance” and I believe that fairytale and romance are indeed good keywords. Like all good fairytales there is a smoking hot prince, (in fact quite a few princes) in search of his princess. Of course , his princess does not seem to be a princess at first, just an ordinary human female trying to stay alive in the city of Seattle. Also like most fairytales there is magic, a quest to save the world, fairies good and bad and to make things interesting, dragons , angels and demons too. As far as romance goes, the underlying theme of the books is whether or not True Love exists and can love really conquer all. Also be warned, this fairytale is definitely not meant for children’s bedtime, as it has numerous steamy sex scenes as only love between dragons and humans can be!
Book 1 Kiss of a Dragon, Alisa Woods introduces the hero, Lucian Smoke, Crown Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke. Hard to belief that anyone so hot could be already 500 years old, but Prince Lucian is close to dying, unless he meets his “True Love” and begets a dragonling. To make matters more pressing, if he fails in this quest, a very old treaty that protects humanity from the immortal world of the dark Fae will expire and mortals may fall prey to demons. However, a dragon’s mate rarely survives the birth of a young dragon and Lucian refuses to be responsible for the death of another woman. He rescues Arabella from a demon roaming the streets of Seattle and decides to try to seduce her , without losing his heart, before he turns into a beast and the treaty is broken forever. I bet you don’t need a crystal ball, to know how well that works out!
Lucian and Arabella’s adventure continue in book 2 Heart of a Dragon. It is here that Alisa Woods, explores the idea of what is “True Love” and if you can truly love a person, warts and all, without ever doubting that love is real. Lucian and Arabella are forever being tested and it does seem like they are the proverbial star-crossed lovers. But again, if love is true then doesn’t it always conquer every obstacle thrown at it?
It is not until book 3, Fire of a Dragon, that Ms. Woods reveals if Lucian and Arabella’s love is strong enough to save the world. There are plenty of heart stopping moments for Lucian, Arabella, their family and friends, which keep you turning the page to see what happens next. Each book ends with a cliffhanger, sometimes literally. But don’t fear like all good fairytales there is happily ever after waiting at the end.
I love that Alisa Woods has such believable characters. Yes, the hero is dragon-fire hot , a billionaire and a prince. Yet, he is also broken, with flaws and tendency to let his heart and soul get in the way of his good judgement. And the heroine, is not some damsel in distress just waiting for a prince to sweep in and make life beautiful. Arabella is a complete person with strength in character and able to take care of herself in many situations. Yet together, like any good romance reader will tell you, love between soulmates, has a magic that always makes the couple stronger together then they are apart.
I highly recommend you pick up the “Fallen Immortals series” Books 1-3 by Alisa Woods. Like me you may find that knights in shining armor , riding white horses and saving you from fire-breathing dragons , is not near as much fun as hot dragon -shifter, sweeping down out of the skies and carrying you off to a mountain lair, far away from the evil world!

This is the last of a trilogy for this couple, but not the last in the series.
I still think one longer book would have been better than three short ones as it did get repetitive at times. However, this book was definitely more enjoyable than the second in the series.
My only real issue with this one was Arabella continuously pushing Cinead at Rachel. I can understand she was helping a friend get over her fear and that Rachel liked Cinead, but at the same time Arabella did not respect Rachel's wishes to not talk about it. It should have been done in their own time when they were ready, instead I felt it was slightly pushed and pressured. Plus, she even said it in the book it was so Rachel could live longer to be with her which I thought was quite selfish.
Cinead was my favourite and I wish he had his own book.
Other than that, it was a great ending. Really sad but also heart warming and I loved the twist at the end. Zephan is meant to be the bad guy, but I really like it when he turns up as he makes such a great bad guy!
Overall, it flowed well just be aware it ends on a cliff hanger! Recommended if you enjoy quick reads.

This was my least favourite of the Lucian/Arabella series. The strong-willed, badass, self-sufficient Arabella from the first and second books had vanished, and she turned into a whiny, needy parasite attached to Lucian. I get that they had mated and their bond was stronger, but she couldn’t even be in a different room from him for more than five minutes before she started whining and complaining, and it was kind of frustrating. I was also slightly disappointed with the ending, as I feel it was a bit of an easy way out, and wasn’t as creative or exciting as I would have liked. I feel as though Leonidas and Leksander’s stories will have to try very hard to be different from Lucian and Arabella’s, though I have a feeling they sort of won’t be. However, this story was still hot and captivating and exciting, and it was different for me to read a story from the POV of a pregnant woman, and I did enjoy how things ended up between Lucian and Arabella. I liked the drama at the end, but I feel as though it could have been extended a little more, and been so much more dramatic and intense. I wish there would have been as much intensity and description and drama in the fight scenes as there were in the sex scenes, but I get that these are sex/romance heavy books, and not filled with the high-fantasy fight scenes I’m used to. This was a quick, easy read, but not as badass or enjoyable as the first two books I’d read.

Lucien & Arabella, Part 3: These Two are the Perfect Couple!- 5 Stars

The third installment of this series did not disappoint. Arabella struggles to bring her baby to term, and Lucien is in a panic to ensure the safety of his mate and his dragonling. This causes him to become OD when it comes to her safety and who surrounds her. New characters are introduced, and tragedy strikes. The ending was satisfying but it didn't last long, and we are again holding our breaths with the fate of the House of Smoke.

Thia book took me through an emotional roller coaster! I was happy with the end but it pushed us into yet another cliffhanger! (Way to go, Alisa... you really know how to keep me on the edge of my seat!) The two remaining unmated Smoke princes take center stage in the next coming novels. I look forward to reading the rest of the series and fall in love more with Leonides and Leksander.

Happy Reading!

Again disappointing like the second book.

In the first book Arabella is strong and has a good head on her shoulders. The writing is fierce and fun and the love was great.

The second book, even with good pacing, was a disappointment reducing the woman to a simpering fool who just gives up on the whole life she had so she can love some guy. The lines are more trite. The whole book is emo.

Well, this is the same. I couldn't put the first book down, but this? I had troubles picking it back up. The action is not engaging. The woman has lost all her fight.

If you have a thing for babies and just want baby this and baby that, well then you will enjoy this book. But for myself it was overwhelming and extremely offputting.

Lucien is the Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke and needs to spawn a dragonling to uphold a treaty to keep the mortal world safe from the Dark Fae. He is mated to human Arabella and she is now expecting a dragonling. As they wait for the impending birth (which is much faster than a human) there is a succession of gifts for the expected child. However, nothing is simple in their part of the world - can Arabella give birth safely to this much-loved child?

This was a fairly simplistic story in that it featured a lot of explicit sexual content between Lucien and Arabella, some information on the pregnancy and birth, some complications and a surprise at the end. Well written and easy to read, this was the final part of the story of Lucien and Arabella.

This is book 3 in the series and it has really come down to the wire. Will Lucian stay sane long enough to get Arabella with child? If Lucian gets her with child can Arabella survive the birth of her child? If the child and Arabella survives with Lucian maintaining his sanity will the child save their world as they know it or will all be lost? Read and find out!

This book was a great addition to the series. The world that Alisa created with this book is emotion grabbing and packed with action and fiery passion. Overall a very good job!

If you haven't guessed it or read it already the first 3 books in this series is about Lucian and Arabella. So... this book is actually an ending and a beginning.

The first part is done and now more questions are raised and more solutions are needed. That leads the way for the next brother's story.

I liked this one a bit better, although it was a lot more sex (that's not why I like it, I could have actually done without that part, because Lucian and Arabella was more established as a couple and the rest of the craziness came to a boiling point and then went a bit haywire.

Lucian and Arabella have fore filled the treaty they have mated and a baby is on the way but the question is still will she survive? Because only a dragon claw can cut the baby out of her and Lucian has already lost the woman and child he once loved he doesn’t want to go through that again. But when Arabella is kidnapped nothing will stand in the way of their love for each other. But will the fire inside consume her?

Will he be able to save her? You’ll have to read to find out….

I give it less than the first book because it felt short, and because of the weird turn in the end. I mean, I’ll probably read the other books as well of the stories of the other two brothers, but it felt like it was meant to stretch the series.

So, the two brothers will also somehow find a mate? Then what? Of course it wouldn’t end well with just that.

I think that there would still be a war at the end and instead of going the roundabout way through the 3 brother’s stories before reaching that point, I’d rather it happened earlier on already.

The dragon prince is born and at a great cost. But is it enough. The twists and turns do not end, and the drama was intense. I want so badly to continue, but the next books are 4-10 and I really need to finish the other two I am on.

We finally get a glimpse into the brothers' back stories, but as always, there is still a lot we do not know. I can say for sure that I really would like the Fae to be taken down and dethroned from the pedestal they put themselves on. And I hope it is a Human who does it, Arabella preferably. I guess we will see and the story continues.

Fire of a Dragon was a perfect ending of Lucian Smoke and Arabella Sharps mating story, except for a small glitch? I couldn't put it down. As you know after book 2 Heart of a Dragon Arabella is pregnant with Lucian's baby Dragonling.

Hope to all the Gods that Arabella & her dragonling make it. It won't be easy that's for sure because that Black Dragon Sephan unleashes his plan, but Arabella has her own magical powers now.

When Lucian is crowned king all hell comes to pass as the Fae Prince drops a bomb on the triplets. Will this be the end of Lucian's brothers and humanity?
