I’m arrogant and filthy rich.
Two truths that land a new woman in my bed nightly.

Uncomplicated…
Uncommitted...
And completely satisfying.

When you don’t care, you can’t get hurt.

But when Bailey Jameson walked into my bar, she immediately started complicating things. One night wasn’t enough and our pasts are too similar. We were bound to fall for our urges.

I craved everything about her.

My money and arrogance wouldn’t get me far with Bailey. I had to work for it. And I did. Now that I have her I intend to keep her, no matter the struggles we will undoubtedly endure.

Will we be able to save ourselves or will we both succumb to our demons?

If only Reed was a drug .... you'd be HOOKED! I dont know why this book got such low stars on here , it rated better on Amazon ... I loved the storyline , and plot. I thought it was a great read , and i will read it again . I dont give spoilers, but I know there are alot of books out here like this one maybe thats why some people rated it as they did ?, but i honestly enjoyed the whole theme of things . I hope to see maybe a series out this ? I think it could be possiable. Maybe pov books or from each characters view kind of story like before this book , like past tense. This was my first novel of hers and i want to read more of her works . Im hooked ! I recived a copy for my honest review ty . It is a steamy , exciting read ! Not boring at all to me . Thank You again. 99 cents on Amazon right now , what a bargin! So worth it !

Heather Stone done amazing on her 1st full length novel. This book is a standalone following the amazing characters known as Reed and Bailey.
Through everything Bailey has went through sobriety has been the toughest. 2 years later Mr. Reed Lawson walks into her life as her boss. The connection they have instantly is undeniable. Keeping their hands off each other was impossible. Through everything with Bailey's condition things start to fall apart but are slowly pieced back together. The reason I wanted to read this book is because Heather Stone has yet to disappoint me and she definitely didn't with this novel. This book has inspired me to trust the ones that love you even if you don't think they can handle the truth. I would recommend this book to anyone struggle with addiction or to anyone helping someone with their addiction. I would also recommend me to anyone who doesn't know when they can trust someone that actually cares about them.
I received an advanced readers copy of this book for an honest review through I blog called Hot Girls Read that I review for.

Nice quick read.

I won an Kindle copy from a Facebook giveaway for an honest review.
I quickly fell in love with Bailey right off the bat. She's trying to get passed old demons when she lands a job that could throw her back to her old addictions. She meets Reed her new boss and they have an instant connection....
Lots of ups and downs, drug use, jealousy, and feelings hurt throughout the book. We learn that both Bailey and Reed have struggled with the same issues in the past Reed is able to help her get better and stronger. I am happy for the ending and look forward to Leah and Jace's story next.
Only thing that bothered me in this book is the word "Bae." It was definitely thrown out there way too much. It's already a word I'm tired of hearing and every time I read it I cringed!

By: Heather Stone

3.5 star review by Kristie K.

Our favorite author of the insta-love novella, Heather Stone, has finally blessed us with her first full length, standalone novel. As with many readers, I was anxious for this development in Ms. Stone’s career. The question now is, was it everything we hoped it would be?

Reed Lawson is a billionaire playboy that enjoys uncomplicated relationships that only amount to dirty sex and no expectations for more. With a past as dark as his hand made suits, Reed has tried to keep his club and himself on the straight and narrow, determined for history to never repeat itself. As owner of the hottest club in New York, Reed easily has his pick of women…so why does he find himself drawn to the new cocktail waitress at his club? With his past, he learned the hard way not to screw the help…but he may have to break his own rules. Bailey Jameson is the most beautifully broken woman Reed has ever laid eyes on. Though his usual M.O. is to stay far away from such temptation, there is just something about Bailey that has him crossing every line and breaking every self-made rule. What Reed doesn’t know yet is that Bailey has her own skeletons, and they are every bit as dark and frightening as his own. Working at a club like this is the last place Bailey should be, but her sister stuck her neck out for her, and she can’t let her down again…plus she needs the money. Determined to keep her gorgeous boss at arms length, Bailey isn’t prepared for the onslaught of sexual tension that ripples the air between them. Soon the attraction can’t be denied, and both Reed and Bailey are breaking all the rules…but will they break each other in the process?

Last Line is a story of unexpected love, a broken heroine, and the darker side of temptation. I have said in previous reviews of Ms. Stones stories that I wanted her to do a full length novel. I wanted so much MORE of her characters and more from the story. I was ecstatic when I heard that she had finally done it! As I read Last Line, I treated it as if it was a debut novel…because, essentially that is what it is. From that point of view, Last line is a great start. I was drawn to the story, and ached for the characters as they struggled with temptation. I believe I felt everything that Ms. Stone wanted me to feel, but I still closed the book wanting MORE. The story flowed well, but could have been smoother in places, and more raw in others. So many details came out about each character, but it never seemed to be enough, and I was left with so many questions. Now, don’t get me wrong…I enjoyed the book a great deal, but I hope that Ms. Stone will continue to push herself and stretch her abilities. She is a wonderful author, with so many stories yet to tell, and I plan to be there for every one of them. I look forward to watching her grow and gain the much deserved acclaim that I believe she can reach. Last Line is an emotional, dark, and eye opening story that is a great start to a new chapter in the career of Ms. Heather Stone.

Okay…Let me start this review off by letting you know that Last Line involves drug use and the process of addiction and recovery. If this is a trigger for you i highly recommend you read at your own risk.

Last Line is a story about two people facing and battling a drug addiction.

Reed Lawson is a successful night club owner but his life hasn’t always been about success. His life used to center around partying and looking for his next fix. Until one tragic night.

Fast Forward a couple of years.

Bailey Jameson moved to the city to get away from her party friends. She’s been living sober for two years. About to become evicted her sister Leah uses her connections and gets Bailey a job working at L.E.X. (the nightclub Reed owns.) She is soon to find out that being a recovering addict and working at a nightclub may not be the brightest idea…especially when you throw Mr. Reed Lawson in the mix.

Last Line is told from two point of views.

We have Bailey’s POV and witnessing her struggle with sobriety. We see the struggle of her trying to keep her drug addiction a secret from her sister and family only hurting herself in the end. You need the support of friends and family to help you through something that consuming. You need to see that there is something on the other side of the haze that there is something worth living for and getting clean for. Family is everything.

We also have Reed’s POV and witnessing his notorious playboy ways and the guilt that he lives with due to the tragic night. Reed has given up using in favor for a large amount of one night stands giving him a love em’ and leave em’ playboy reputation. That is until he locks eyes with Bailey. The attraction between the two is instant and undeniable.

I really enjoyed Reed in Last Line. He came off as the Playboy of the novel but on the surface you could see the troubles he lives with everyday. the guilt of the tragic event that happens controls him.

Let’s not forget the sexy time scenes….Holy inferno. They were crazy hot.

I enjoyed Last Line the only issue i had was that the story line felt rushed during a few scenes. Other than that i thought it was pretty good!

I'm addicted to all things Heather Stone! I love that she brings hot novellas that pack a lot of punch in a small package. With Last Line, she give us much more and I loved it! Heather is known for insta-love hotness and I'm ok with that. It's nice to take a break from the stories where they are resist each other instead of taking full advantage of what they both know what they want! This did touch on more series issues and was not just full of fluff so a job well done to the author!

Bailey is a recovering addict. She has been clean and sober but has not let her family know of her addiction problems. She needs a job and her sister pulls some favors and gets her a bartending job at the hottest night club in New York not knowing that it may cause a possible relapse. Bailey needs the money so she stays strong and keeps her head straight so she doesn't fall into bad habits.

Reed is the alpha male that I just loved! He a walking sex god and makes apologies about it. He doesn't do relationships and since his last serious relationship he uses women for one thing, sex. He wants a no strings attached relationship that is based on one thing and one thing only, how quickly he can get them out of his office once he's done with them.

When Reed and Bailey meet the chemistry is off the charts! Bailey has no interest in sleeping with her box but Reed is the kind of guy that doesn't give up a challenge. The quickly learn they have more in common than they realize. Their relationship goes hot fast and I could not get enough of them. They are a great pair but with obstacles and road blocks in the way, how will they last? Are they doomed from the beginning or will they find their happily ever after? You will need to read Last Line to find out!

Last Line is the first book I've read by this author. First I'd like to say this book is about drug use and fighting addiction, so if those are triggers for you, then this may not be the book for you. I found this book to be a whirlwind romance between Reed, a guy who has never wanted anything more than a one night stand, and Bailey who is a recovering addict trying to get her life together. Reed and Bailey give into their attraction after only meeting once at the club. Bailey works for Reed and tires to fight against what is happening, but she sees a kindred soul in Reed and wants to comfort him.

I found their love story to be hot and fast and the kind that can make or break a person. The author did a great job painting the heat and the chemistry between them. You felt the love that was overtaking Reed and that he didn't quite know what to do with. And you felt the emotions that Bailey is constantly fighting.

Some things that I would have liked to see a little bit more of were the relationships with the secondary characters. A lot of issues were touched on but for me I would have loved more detail to fully see the whole stories there so I could better understand how they shaped Reed and Bailey. I also felt like some of the pivotal moments were over pretty quickly and I would have liked to see a little bit more description there.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and loved Reed.

Last Line is about Bailey Jameson and Reed Lawson. We meet Bailey as she is starting her first day (well, night, really) at Reed's Club L.E.X. Her sister, Leah, knows Reed and got her the job there. There is an instant attraction between the two when they see each other and Bailey finds herself giving in to Reed's demands when he asks for a meeting in his office.

I do not give spoilers, so this review is a tough one for me. I will say the story was full of the insta-love and hot love scenes I've come to expect from Heather. But there was so much more - serious backstories for both characters brought a richness to the story I didn't see coming (the prologue alone had me amped to find out just what got Bailey to that point). There was also a lot of sweetness, happiness, sadness, outright anger, and even some heartbreak.

Overall, it was a great read and I look forward to reading more full length novels from Heather (as well as more of her quick, hot, face-fanning novellas that made me an instant fan)!

The Last Line was an okay read for me. Bailey, Reed and Damon all have demons; some are present demons they're still battling and some are past demons that still have a hold on them. All of them know what addiction cost them, they've all paid a price. They also know that in order to change your situation you have to want that change for yourself, you have to want that help for no one other than yourself. There were things I both liked and disliked about the story. I disliked how Bailey's character ran from everything and a simple misunderstanding cost her more than what it was worth. I wished she talked things out before she reacted. Reed was a good man to do what he did for both his girlfriend and his friend/employee Damon. I expected Reed's mom to be unkind from what I read so it completely threw me off when she wasn't and that was a good thing. This is the first book I've read from this author and it was okay.

**Received an ARC for an Honest Review. Thank You.**

3 to 3.5 Stars!

Bailey and Reed both have their own demons they are struggling with. Their demons center around a common theme. Reed seems to have a better grasp of what he is up against whereas Bailey continues to struggle. I think the difference is that with Bailey, she is dealing with it on her own, without the support of her family and "friends". I enjoyed reading this book. I did find at times it was hard to connect with the characters, however, I did appreciate how the author took us through Bailey's struggles and the steps she took to try and overcome them. There seems to be a potential story line about some of the characters we met in this book and I'm looking forward to reading about them.

Reed Lawson carries the guilt of his past. He struggles daily and uses his club as a crutch to hold onto that guilt. Bailey Jameson is fighting her own battles. She has secrets that she holds onto and deals with them competely alone.

This story is a quick short read and while I am trying to be evasive and not give away any spoilers. I will say it took me a bit to build a connection to the characters and even then I am not sure that I felt completely connected. The characters have a instant connection as well as inta love and I just didn't feel it.

However I did enjoy this read because the matters it deals with are real life struggles.

Very serious subject matter.

Why someone would put themselves in a position of temptation when dealing with an addiction is beyond me. Our heroine (Bailey) does that, our hero also in a way, she isn't no where near strong enough mainly because she didn't get any real help and is still living in semi denial by not being honest with the people who love her.
Even knowing this she forges ahead.

Our hero (Reed) owns the club where Bailey goes to work, he is dealing with his own demons when it comes to the partying lifestyle.

Two very broken souls find each other. One thinking to be the savior for the other, not realizing that with addiction the addict has to be willing to do the work and deal with the things that lead them to that no matter how painful.

I received an ARC for an honest review.
Firstly, I must just state that this storyline in about drug use and addiction. If these are triggers for you then read at your own peril. Reed is a playboy club owner, who deals daily with guilt after a tragic event. Bailey is a recovering addict, and works as a bartender at the club. The attraction between this two at first sight is instant and intense.
This story is written in duel POV’s, which shared a great insight into these two personalities, and what made them become as they were. Heather has done a fantastic job in writing this emotional and heartbreaking storyline. I will certainly be reading more of her work in the future.

Last Line is a book that on the surface seems like it is about two broken people and addictions. However, Reed, a young playboy club owner, and Bailey the struggling girl in his employ are more than that. It is about redemption and moving on.

I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did. I started it with an open mind, and I am glad I did.

I am not big on spoilers in reviews, but I will say that this book is about facing the past, being honest with oneself, and friendship. It is also about value. Finding it and realizing it.

I think this book was a hidden gem.

Last Line

Dealing with real issues, drug addiction, recovering addict, Bailey ends up getting a job in a very high end bar, but not a great place to work when being a recovery addict. She meets Reed, owner of the club L.E.X. That she works at, he is very drawn to her, but he is your hit it, leave it type of guy. And he wants Bailey. She is struggling, bartender, Damon befriends Bailey, he is a addict, still uses, but honors her not using and doesn't offer to her. Great story about individual's with addiction, recovering or not, their struggles, triggers, needing to learn to love themselves, before someone else can truly love them. This is a beautiful story!! A must read.❤️

Lopsided Addiction Treatment

Heather West's first full-length novel centers Bailey, a young woman with a secret addiction and no work options. The problems only derail Bailey, and not the rich people in the book, or the men, and that was a trifle annoying. But club life costs, and this was the message conveyed in what is at essence, an instalove story. There's a fair amount of heat, but the steam takes a back seat to characters. I particularly liked how Reed's mom was positioned, and that West left more stories to open from that world.

Where do I even start?? It was just too good. This is my first book I've read by Heather Stone and I loved it. Heather Stone shows the struggles of drug addiction that many people may not know or even care to know. You have Reed that man whore who falls for Bailey who struggles with things. They both have gone through a lot. The writing is fantastic. The sex scenes are steamy. Definitely a great read.

The book started out so well, with a storyline with a potential. But as soon as the H and h met, everything went downhill. Instant sex, weeks of relationship with no movement in the plot, then drama with characters changing their options and stances from one page to another. Ugh.

This one was ok. there were some giant holes in the book. They both used to be addicts but why is she the only one struggling with sobriety? His addiction doesn't get more than a passing mention.
