He wants complete control. Can she obey? It was just supposed to be another news story. Journalist Amy Cryan snuck into the infamous Sanctuary club to write an article for her job at the local newspaper. It was only supposed to be one night. That's it. Nothing serious. But when Amy steps into The Sanctuary, all of her plans fall apart. She runs into trouble in the club, and only one man comes to save her. Master J. J is the hot, rich, and demanding owner of The Sanctuary. He's willing to give Amy a second chance if she does just one thing: give him complete and total control over her for seven days.
Elsa Day loves writing stories about characters just beginning to discover adulthood. Her books have romance, angst, and just the right amount of spice!
When she's not writing, Elsa can probably be found chugging tea, listening to international music, and baking sweets. She enjoys sketching, painting, and photography, but writing will always be her first love.
I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book in the Club Alpha Book Set in exchange for an honest review.
Amy Cryan is trying to keep her job by any means necessary. Watching as her fellow employees are fired is making her nervous. Knowing that if she wants to keep her job as a journalist she has to find "THE" story to put her over the top. When she comes across mentions of the secretive Sanction she knows this is it. The story of a lifetime. She thinks she's ready for what she may see while in Sanctuary but instead is caught up in something she doesn't truly understand. When she gets herself in trouble it is the elusive owner Master J who comes to her rescue. Shocked doesn't cover her reaction. Thinking that she has lost her only chance at an award winning story she is surprised when Master J makes her an offer she just can't refuse.
J knows better than to deal with journalists. They are nothing but nosey, uptight people who don't understand what Sanctuary truly stands for. A safe place for all things consensual. But there is something about Amy that calls to him like no one ever before. He makes the decision to show her just what being a submissive his. More to the point.. his submissive.
The question is, can he show her his world in seven days without making her run?
I really liked how in control J was. Especially when he showed Amy just what it takes to be a dominant. I'm interested to see where else Elsa Day is going to take these two.
The story of amy and Master J was one that i so wanted to connect with. And to be honest, i did....but...there were parts of the story that left me thinking, "Really? You can't be serious?" And the grammatical errors and typos...my goodness. Now, i know that i am not the best person to judge on grammar and typos, but when whole words are missing or it is just the wrong word altogether...it's freaking noticeable.
This book was a really quick read. And literally, so was amy's introduction into BDSM. Not sure yet if i shall continue the series or not...
I liked the storyline concept and the characters, especially J. But I found the story ruined by the constant errors in it due to little or no editing. How can an author take pride in her work with such little regard for the readers?
This was a nice read, but something was missing. Maybe just too short? It's a take on the first shadowlands...a reporter trying to ensure she doesn't get the sack looks for a compelling story. She homes in on the "scary" mansion on the outside of her town, which has lots of rumours speculating about its use. She applies to get into the "club", using a fictitious name. She totally humiliates herself on her first visit and receives a punishment and is thrown out. She returns at the request of the owner "j", who takes her on for a weeks insight into his world.(BDSM).. He's an experianced and we'll sort after Dom;-) It's has a HEA of a sort, and leaves the reader wanting more, but I personannoy was left with...is that it. Who is J? Who is Amy ( the journalist). We learn nothing of their back grounds, who they are as people, their life experiances, I just wanted so much more. The sex scenes are really hot, and for me make up for the lack of all the rest. I did at times feel like I was reading shadowlands, which is one of my favourite books, but this didn't quite make it.But saying that I would read it again, and will read the next in the series x
I'm not certain what to say about this book. In the beginning I felt like this was a super BDSM Light. I was actually giggling at the beginning of this story because I thought the girl was the most naive character I had read in a long time. I never did feel a connection to these characters. I guess because it was so short there wasn't enough time to get a really good feel, for them. There were really only two secondary characters, Mimi and Mr Farrow. If this is going to be a longer series I would have expected to see more characters to build this story on. I'd like to see more of Master J and amy and see how their relationship, progresses
Amy need to write a really good story so she would not lose her job. She decides she was going to write about a club called the Sanctuary a BDSM private club. When she gets an approval to attend on Friday night she did not know what to expect. She did not except the owner Master J to be HOT she could not take her eyes off of him. Amy interrupts one of his scenes and gets kicked out the next day wants to see her in his office. She did not know what to do when he tells her that her wants to give her a second chance. There's a catch he wants her to be his sub with complete control for seven days can she do that? Will she be able to do her job and keep her heart safe?
Wow, hot! Amy is a reporter, she watches as one after another of her co-workers loses their job. Determined to keep her job, she does some research and decides that an expose' on the BDSM club called The Sanctuary, is just the thing to keep herself employed. Amy interrupts Master J during one of his scenes the night she goes to the club researching her story. She is sure her cover is blown, and it is, Master J knew she was a reporter when he invited her to the club. Amy is sure she will never get her story, but Master J invites her to sign a short term contract to teach her the truth about BDSM. Fantastic, a must read!
Wow I'm a Hugh fan of Elsa day's MC books and This one took me by surprise. Amy is a reporter and watching her fellow co-workers getting the boot she has to up her game which she does by investigating the New BDSM club called The Sanctuary. She has to have a whole new identity and is way out of her comfort zone to start but once she comes eye to eye with the unknown Master J he just knocked her off her feet and I love how this book shows a true Dom not pushy he's focused and powerful with great patiences, he allows her to come to terms with what she need and wants. I would highly recommend this book to my friends and you! Enjoy.
Steamy way to get an exclusive and keep your job! Amy poses as a fan of the BDSM life in search of a new club and sneaks into club Sanctuary to get a peak at J the owner of the establishment but is thrown out for disrupting a scene and gives herself away. He invites her back the next with a proposition to be his submissive for a week and learn about the life. She readily agrees and the fun begins. She is gathering information to write an expose but J is bringing out emotions in Amy that she doesn't want to feel/ recognize. She feels like she is losing part of herself each time she's with him but the feelings he evokes are overpowering.
One of a bunch of short stories in the Club alpha series.....there are 13 stories and only one was just so-so I didn't care for it ....but this was one of the better ones......well worth reading it's about a journalist going undercover....
It was good but something was missing. I'm not sure but it left me wanting. But yes I'll try other stories by Elsa day. I think may need to be longer and more from master j.
I like this books is about a writer for a paper whose trying not to lose her job goes into a bdsm club to write about it and finds her soak mate there. love her books keep them coming.
