From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan comes a new story in her Montgomery Ink series... Holly Rose fell in love with a Montgomery, but left him when he couldn’t love her back. She might have been the one to break the ties and ensure her ex’s happy ending, but now Holly’s afraid she’s missed out on more than a chance at forever. Though she’s always been the dependable good girl, she’s ready to take a leap of faith and embark on the journey of a lifetime. Brody Deacon loves ink, women, fast cars, and living life like there’s no tomorrow. The thing is, he doesn’t know if he has a tomorrow at all. When he sees Holly, he’s not only intrigued, he also hears the warnings of danger in his head. She’s too sweet, too innocent, and way too special for him. But when Holly asks him to help her grab the bull by the horns, he can’t help but go all in. As they explore Holly’s bucket list and their own desires, Brody will have to make sure he doesn’t fall too hard and too fast. Sometimes, people think happily ever afters don’t happen for everyone, and Brody will have to face his demons and tell Holly the truth of what it means to truly live life to the fullest…even when they’re both running out of time. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

The Montgomery Ink World contains the following series, though each series is a stand alone and can be read in any order. Feel free to hop around:
Holly is a good girl, she has a respectable job, wears cardigans with pearls, and never does anything crazy. But she's had enough of living her life never having fun memories to share so she decides it's time for a change. Then Brody enters her life and she knows he's the perfect person to help her with her quest to fun, and maybe along the way they can both find something even better.
This novella was a perfect way to start off the new year. It was sweet and light, with a swoon worthy Hero. I'm not a big novella lover because there are many times where the story is over so fast that I never saw the connection between the characters, but that was certainly not the case with this book.I loved the instant connection Holly and Brody had because it was so believable and their chemistry was so evident.
Their book is part of the Montgomery Ink series and we get to see some of the past characters featured, but it can be read as a standalone with no problem. I definitely recommend this book for anyone that's looking for a fast and light read. ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
Holly and Brody. Both have unhappy childhoods they never talk about. Never been with anyone long enough to let them close enough to share that last part of their souls. I don't read much of the series, so a lot of the side characters from previous books meant little to me. But I didn't feel it impinged on the story any. It's a pretty straight forward tale where a boy meets girl and they start a friendship over a bucket list that leads to more than either had planned. I liked both MCs . It's comfortably predictable and 3 stars because I wasn't wowed, and it was kinda repetitive. The ending was really sweetly romantic and had me smiling. There is an epilogue but for once it was almost 'too much', because CAR had already ended the story so well.
Honestly it would have been 4 stars easy if it weren't for CAR's typical telling over showing. CAR is the queen of repetitious inner monologuing. That's why I prefer her novellas. Also, less of the MCs pushing one or the other away, which always gets old fast in her longer books.
listened to on audio and the reader, Gregory Salinas was very good. At over 2 hrs it was just long enough to keep me entertained running errands ; )
I have loved Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink series and Adoring Ink is another fantastic novella in this series. While it is under the Montgomery Ink umbrella, neither the hero nor the heroine is part of the family, but good friends. A chance meeting leads two people to explore new things including falling in love.
Holly Rose once fell for a Montgomery, but realizing that he was in love with two other people led to their romantic relationship ending, but their friendship is stronger than ever. Holly leads a good life; she loves her job as a teacher despite the many extra hours it takes to do her job well, she owns her home, and she has more friends now than she ever has, but Holly wants to break out a little and try some new things and when she meets Brody Deacon he offers to help her in any way he can.
It was fun watching these two go on their adventures and Holly discovering new ways to have fun. Holly is sweet and caring, but Brody brought out her sensual side which was fun to see. Brody had a bit of a rough exterior, but with Holly he let his softer side show. Having friends in common made them comfortable with one another from the start which made it easy for them to speak their minds and not play games.
They both had a bit of baggage which led to some misunderstandings, but for the most part Adoring Ink was angst free and filled with fun, laughter, and sexy times, making it a complete delight to read.
The first thing I want to make sure I tell you is that even thought this is part of a series, it can be read all on its own just fine. That is the case with the whole series. I've skipped around for one reason or another and have always felt I was reading a complete story. I LOVE THAT. Yes, I'll be going back to the beginning sometime soon and #BingeRead the series in order, but I didn't have to to enjoy the books I have read and that all on Carrie Ann Ryan's story-telling skill. She's really really good. She incorporates everyone in books but yet makes sure the focus is on our lead couple only. You never need a backstory from another book to enjoy the romance journey of the current book.
Adoring Ink is one of the lighter reads I've read by her. I would call it romantic and FULL of feels! For a novella, it packed quite a punch! It was heartwarming and sexy. I can't wait to revisit Holly & Brody when I set out to binge read the series! :)
Adoring ink is the story of Holly and Brody. Both characters are known to the readers, so I am not going to introduce them. I liked Holly once she broke up with Jake and I was quite happy she was going to get a story. To be honest, I don't remember Brody and I am not even sure if I had the chance to meet him., so technically for me he was a brand new character. Brody and Holly were a great couple, but I didn't feel like they were great one and I felt like they could be a couple that comes together in a subplot. There was something about them that didn't click for me and while I liked that Holly found someone I wasn't excited about the possibility of these two getting together. That's what threw me off the book and I wasn't able to like it as much as I had liked the other books in the series. I wasn't disappointed by the book, but I didn't feel like the main couple was meant to be the main couple in a book. I don't know if you can understand that, but I don't have any other words to explain it. I would recommend the book because even if I had this tiny problem, it was quite enjoyable.
Adoring Ink was a short but super good audio. I wish it was a bit longer because I really liked these characters and their chemistry was amazing. In it, you will meet Holly and Brody. Now Holly is a nice girl. She has a good job and wears respectable clothing for a woman her age.. but that's about it. Holly sounds like a possible cat lady, right? Correct.
Then a man enters life, his name is Brody, and she instantly becomes a ball of joy. I will admit that they were pretty cute together. The whole novella was pretty damn sweet because of these two and their chemistry. I wouldn't say it was insta-love but they definitely clicked with each other early on.
Overall, I really wished this wasn't a novella because it was way too short in my opinion!
Holly and Brody’s romance made my heart sigh with happiness! The sweetness and vulnerable emotions balanced out the smexy, making this light-hearted read perfect.
First grade teacher Holly Rose wishes she was the wanton, sexy woman she has dreams about, but pearls, cardigans and sensible shoes are her preferred real life MO. When she meets the deliciously inked up Brody Deacon, the two hit it off immediately. Brody wants to help Holly find her adventurous side, and he wants to experience every single minute of it with her. He has no intention of falling for her, but like taking a step off a ledge, he's helpless to stop himself from the descent. But there's no way Brody can let himself be the guy she needs, even if she claims to be sure it's him.
ADORING INK is a novella in the Montgomery Ink series, and also a stand-alone addition to the innovative and fun 1001 Dark Nights series featuring sensual and erotic stories by a variety of popular authors inspired by the classic The Arabian Nights tale.
There's something that's just so gorgeous about an inked up good guy with a heart of gold and a libido of a porn star. And add in there the exciting, adrenaline soaked adventures and you've got yourself one fun read. Brody and Holly had some great chemistry, and it was yummy seeing the buttoned up good girl let loose and get her wild on. This is a fabulous series and one I wholeheartedly recommend.
Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; no violence/murder.
Adoring Ink: A Montgomery Ink Novella by Carrie Ann Ryan This story has elements that will just draw you in and I couldn't stop reading until I finish the story. This is a quick read and a page turner. I give it FIVE HEARTS! “I had hot flashes while reading the whole book! I loved this story! Carrie Ann Ryan is one author I’ll be sure to read in the future for my reading pleasure. Carrie's sex scenes are absolutely awesome and they are edgy and little taboo that makes the heart race. This a fun series and a great addition to Montgomery Ink series, but this is released as a 1001 Nights novella. This is Holly and Brody story, they are both adopted members of the Montgomery Ink family, Holly through Jake and Brody through Alex. That's what I love about series you get to visit with the other characters from previous stories. Holly is a teacher, everyone thinks she's shy and sweet good girl, but she has a list that she feels she needs to do. Brody Deacon is a tattooed mechanic who loves ink, women, fast cars, and living life like there’s no tomorrow. When they meet they have a explosive chemistry. This is a short story that has something for everyone. The main characters are well developed, there's lot of adventure and it's heartwarming. I voluntarily reviewed this book without obligation because I love sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.
It's official I need to go back and read all of the books I have missed because I want to know more about the secondary characters that I am not familiar with. Don't worry about it though if you haven't already read the other books Adoring Ink can absolutely be read as a standalone, I just personally want more books to read but then again my TBR list is huge so one can always dreamed lol.
Holly and Brody have an instant connection. How they first meet would so be something I would be doing so i had a huge smile on my face when I read that. Brody I'll take one of him please cause he is hot ladies and gentlemen!
This is a novella but it is not lacking at all in heat, romance or depth. I was able to read this fairly quickly due to the length but it feels as though I read a full length book. Adoring Ink is a must read for anyone looking for a hot sexy quick read.
What a great little side story to the Montgomery clan! We meet Holly as she becomes Jake's ex in a previous book. She is super sweet and totally realizes that she is not the ONE for Jake. He goes on to marry Maya and Border. Holly decides she maybe needs to set aside her well ordered life and live a little bit. Enter Brody. He is more than willing to help her with her bucket list.
Neither Brody or Holly was looking for anything more than a good time. Funny how the best laid plans often go awry. Turns out they complement each other very well.
It was great to get a sneak look at some of the rest of the Montgomery clan. As always, girl time is a lot of fun! Happy that the author brought back such a wonderful character in Holly so we could all catch up on her life. Lovely HEA!
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
So hot, dirty words and all--Holly meets Brody-a friend of the Montgomery's and he insists on helping her fulfill her "Holly' list. While they try new things, they both vow not to fall in love with the other.
Adoring Ink is Holly Rose and Brody Deacon’s story, and while they appear to be an unlikely pair due to Holly’s good girl demeanor and Brody’s hard and fast lifestyle, Brody might just be the right guy for what Holly wants and needs - someone to check off her adventurous bucket list and give her the thrills and chills that she’s always been too afraid to embrace but now can’t help but want to experience EVERYTHING.
I’m new to Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink series, and while I don’t have a lot of background about the Montgomery family, Holly and Brody’s novella was a perfect introduction because even though neither the hero nor the heroine are related to the Montgomery clan, Ryan provides enough background information and sets the story up in a way that allows for easy assimilation into an already established series and the fact that Holly and Brody have ties to the family whose lives are the focus of most of the books in the series, it provides readers with a different perspective - one that provides insight that we normally wouldn’t get.
I’m so glad that I discovered the Montgomery Ink series in 1001 Dark Nights Discovery Bundle; it definitely sounds like my kind of romance series, so I’ll be sure to check out the rest of the books and their alpha male characters!
I'm glad that with this book Holly got her HEA, because really it was hard not to feel sorry for her with how things ended up between her and Jake, even though I was happy for Maya, Jake and Border.
I loved how Holly and Brody met, loved that it was just random and they both were having fun. That theme of fun continued as they got to know each other. It was only as both shared their past that things got serious. While I hated that Brody ran, I was glad he finally pulled his head out of his ass and realized what a good thing he had with Holly.
Short and sexy. Some of the lines were a little cheesy but overall I enjoyed this one. I didn't expect some huge character development considering how short the book was so I can't ding it there. I'm sure I'll see more of them in later books since the series is so connected.
This book is way out of order for me so I'll need to go back and read some of the earlier ones at some point.
Holly and Brody, oh my. This is a short sweet and dirty in between story for Montgomery Ink. You don't have to read the other book in the series to enjoy this one but honestly why wouldn't you they are awesome!
Holly hasn't really lived a life she loves, she had a difficult childhood and then everything was focused on her career. It wasn't until one ink covered motorcycle riding bad boy offered her the chance of a lifetime that she decided to start living a little. Brody knows he shouldn't get involved with Holly, all their mutual friends are warning him not to hurt her, but he can't stay away. He appreciates her openness to doing new things and he wants to do them with her. She's sweet and sexy all wrapped in a adorable little package and very much too good for a nobody like him, but he can't help himself. Holly soon realizes that she loves Brody but will the truth of their past tear them apart?
While I have pre-ordered this book, like I do almost all Carrie Ann Ryan books, this review is freely given of an advanced review copy.
We know Holly from her relationship with the Montgomery clan and her dating Jake before he got with Maya. Holly has always been the good girl elementary school teacher, but we never knew her past. While her and Brody seem so different, they discover they are both who they are because of their childhoods. Brody decides to help Holly with her adventure bucket list, not knowing that the biggest item, that wasn't on the list, would be them both falling in love. This is a fantastic addition to the Montgomery Ink and 1001 Nights series.
This story was just one more example of the fact that Carrie Ann Ryan only writes good books. This story is the one that shows you will fall in love with the one you are meant to be with, no matter how much you try to stop it. Brody and Holly are meant to be together.
It was hard to watch Holly have to defend herself and try to justify her and Brody but I love their story. Brody it always seemed was never going to settle but Holly made him want more. He is a good caring guy and has more layers than anyone realizes. Him and Holly click. He is the adventurous one who makes her feel safe and want to take chances. She makes him want more. She doesn’ t think he wants anymore than a good time but he slowly realizes he wants more and he doesn’t have a freak out like I expected as he saw this. Holly had more of one to me than he did. I hated seeing them hurt because of their past and how they held onto the tethers of the pain from the past. Holly more than Brody. He was really more a dreamer and believer than he made himself out to be.
The two characters are sweet and loving. Very kind and Brody is sexy as sin. He soars for me in this book and his growth is leaps and bounds. Holly didn’t pull on me as much as Brody I think because she was clinging more to the past and trying to fight herself more but also she was more into listening to others and not letting change just come. Brody was more adventurous and grew and matured more. He realized that he was more than he seemed. He found love and yes he did flub it a little but he still found himself loving Holly and wanting her.
What I loved the most wasnt’ the crazy attraction and sexy scenes the most, it was the feeling of safety and belief in the other that Holly and Brody had. They were equals and supported one another. They believed in the other and were each other’s rock without even knowing it this occurred.
This is a well written, sexy, fun book about letting go and coming out of your comfort zone. About risking your heart and letting someone in. About letting go and seeing where something takes you. About love and belief in the one you love. Great characters who grow and find love and safety in each other.
Adoring Ink was such a fun, heartfelt read. I really enjoyed getting to know Holly better—she surprised me in the best ways and made me laugh more than once. Watching her and Brody fall for each other felt equal parts sweet, bold, and quietly emotional. Their connection starts off feeling like a carefree fling, but the opposites-attract spark between a steady, list-loving teacher and a quietly intense mechanic who tries to keep people at arm’s length really brought the romance to life.
This novella brings back everything I love about the Montgomery Ink world—the found-family support, the warm familiarity of returning characters, and even those subtle hints about relationships that might develop later. (Yes, I still have predictions.) Based on what we learn here, I can confidently say I was not a fan of either of their families, and there’s a moment with Brody that absolutely cracked my heart open.
Between the humor, the quieter emotional moments, and the spark between Holly and Brody, I made quite a few reader noises along the way. It may be a quick read, but it has more depth than I expected, and the dual POV helps the story land exactly where it needs to.
Spice (for readers who want to know): ch. 5, 7, epilogue
A lovely, enjoyable addition to the Montgomery Ink series.
So glad to have a book about Holly. Although the blurb was a bit confusing for me. It says that Holly fell in love with a Montgomery......She was dating Jake in a previous book, but he is a Gallagher, not a Montgomery, so I wasn't sure if it was the same Holly that I was thinking of. I was hoping it was as I liked her and wanted her to get her HEA as well since Jake did with Maya and Border.
I didn't know much about Brody, but he seemed like a fun character. I remembered him briefly when he was getting ink from Sloane in his novella and wondered if it was the same guy as well.
These two were a great fit and I'm glad they got their own story. I just wish it was longer as I would have liked more development for them both. But we will hopefully see them randomly through the series as they are part of the Montgomery extended family. :)
This was a wonderful story about Holly and Brody. Holly is tired of being the sweet one. She decides it's time for her to live life to the fullest and makes a list of things she wants to do. Brody, a friend of the Montgomery family, tells Holly he would happy to help cross off the items on her list. Holly believes in happy ever after, but Brody doesn't believe he can have that because of his past. No cliffhanger, hea. This book covers people from the series but can be read by itself. However, the Montgomery Ink series is worth reading. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book
First of all, the description is misleading. Holly never fell in love with a Montgomery. She fell in love with Jake, who was a Gallagher.
I am obviously missing something here. The book was ok, but I get tired of the guy thinking he is not good enough for the girl and the subsequent struggle about it.
The narration was ok. Everything was just ok. I thought I would move on to find out what happened with Wes and Storm Montgomery, but I may pass. If those two books follow the same formula as the previous ones, it seems kind of pointless. It makes me kind of sad because I do like the Montgomery characters. Their stories just end up being kind of boring.
Holly the quite one decides she wants to be adventurous during her summer break from teaching. She decides to play the music Lou dance in her vehicle and sing badly. When sees a mike sitting next to her at a light laughing. She stop singing and he tells he to keep going, she didn’t remember opening her sun roof. She meets with her friends and he over hears her wanting to be adventurous. Says he wants to help. Her friends tell Brody would be the perfect person. Can they do this without hurting each other? Can they keep themselves from falling in love? Will their past always cripple them? Come on in and find out.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! Adoring Ink is a sweet, fun romance between Holly Rose and Brody Deacon. Holly has been in love with a Montgomery before but left him for his own good, believing he deserved more than she could offer. Now, Brody is a man living on the edge, unsure of what his future holds. When Holly asks him to help her tackle her bucket list, the two embark on a spontaneous journey of rediscovery and passion. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the story explores themes of seizing the moment and living life to the fullest. It’s a heartwarming romance with a lot of depth despite its novella format.
