Finding Gray is a Colloway Brothers short intro to Forsaking Gray. Get a peek into Gray and Livia’s story and see how they first fell in love.
Cocksure. Suave. Untouchable.
Gray Colloway is the very definition of these. He’s also sweet, drop dead gorgeous, and relentless in his pursuit of me. But I don’t let people in my inner bubble. That only leads to heartbreak. After I turn down his initial proposition for a date, he shows up where I work day after day until he finally wears me down and I give. I want to let him in. I do, but will Gray be able to truly break down barriers it took others a lifetime to shape?
Livia Kingsley is the entire sexy package. Outside of swimming curves and that angel’s face, she’s smart as hell, witty, and all fucking mine. I knew it the moment I laid eyes on her. Her resistance to give me a chance is cute and weak. And straight up futile. The harder she pushes me away, the harder I push back. But she gives in and our chemistry is off the charts hot, just as I knew it would be. And three years later when she agrees to be my wife, I am the happiest man alive.
Until she ruins me.
Intro to a 4 book series. Each book features a different brother and each can be read as a STANDALONE.
***Mature readers only, 18+. Features alpha men with foul language and penchant for hot sex.
I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
I went searching for more KL Kreig after reading the fabulous Black Swan Affair. This one's a short freebie prequel to the main event and it does everything a teaser is meant to do, introducing the characters and setting up for the start of the main story with a huge cliffhanger.
Gray is a bit soppy for my taste right now, thoroughly whipped and starry eyed, I prefer a hero with a darker, edgier side you have to work harder to get to, but I'm giving that a free pass as perhaps that's just him before all of the shit goes down. And also, the smut is a joy, so yeah...
Finding Gray is the prequel to Forsaking Gray that provides a look into the early days of the relationship between Gray and Livia before she vanishes.
I love these sorts of bonus books. For the reader who read FG (me) and loved it, but wanted more of these two, this book is perfect. I loved seeing Gray go after what he wanted. I loved reading about him in that pizza parlor night after night wearing her down. But for the reader who might just stumble upon this book, it is so damn captivating that it makes you want to know what happens next!
K.L. Kreig has such a fantastic talent when it comes to both telling a story and creating characters that you instantly latch on to. Finding Gray made me fall in love with these two so much more than before.
Pick this up. If you have not read The Colloway Brothers Series, read it now!!!!!
Livia is the overworked waitress from the wrong side of the tracks. Gray is the well to do college student obsessed with her. This a prequel to The Colloway series series . You get insight on what sparks the intensity of their relationship, but left hanging waiting for me.
As always, the writing was perfect because it's K.L. KREIG!!
However...
While I adored Gray, I kept finding fault with Livia. From the first moment of this novella, I didn't like her and I think their story would be better served if I dropped this and just started with Forsaking Gray instead. I don't want to go into the story hating the girl (although I pretty much already do). So I'm going to take a step back, make something else wash this gross taste out of my brain (thanks for that, Livia) and continue on with this series another day.
I’m not the biggest fan of prequel stories, and that’s what is offered with Finding Gray by K.L. Kreig. It is one of those stories that introduces elements to leave you curious, yet to get answers the full book needs to be read.
Although there were some interesting elements, I never quite connected with the characters. I’m not quite sure what it was, but I never came to like them. That said, the cliff-hanger left me curious to see what comes next.
I’m sure this will work for many, but it wasn’t quite for me.
It’s boring and super repetitive, I hate that the author never bothered explaining what the MCs actually looked like. I didn’t read the book 1, and this made me not want to read their real book.😐
I'm in cliffhanger hell now!!! Moving on to the next book ASAP! This prequel is extremely fast paced. Hoping the next book is more detailed, but overall great, steamy, hot read!
It was short. Insta romance. You get a little background info but unnecessary as a whole. Not bad but this could have just been an extra chapter in the beginning of Forsaking Gray. Not worth buying.
Complete PSA -but in my little book world.....Next up is this Colloway brothers series - but first I had a note to read the "prequel" to the series in this short little novella. But....note to self(and whoever else). This was a prequel that was actually published AFTER the 4 book series....therefore it is more of a little "extra bit for the fans" type of a novella. You know when readers/fans just want a little bit more of the characters you love after you finish a book...and then the author gives you a little bit more of how they really met. That's what this is.
I would recommend not even reading it as a prequel. In my opinion almost everything in this is already in book 1 - but a touch expanded on. I wish I had not read this novella first as I think the beginning of book 1 sets up nicely with the story as is. I didn't like knowing from this prequel how it all went. IF you want to read this than do it as intended...to be read after for a little bit more. BUT I am loving this series so you should for sure start with Book 1 ~ Forsaking Gray
So this was meant as an introduction to Gray and Livvy and how they met before their book (Forsaking Gray ) and it's everything you expect it to be.
It does have a time jump to show they were together three years later after a fast, hot pursuit by Gray who is insta-lust/love with Livvy.
And then the dreaded cliffhanger. Noooooo! ( luckily I have the follow on right away! yay! )
Man, I did not expect it to end like it did. Obvz it needed some kind of shook factor to then place them in their full length novel. We definitely got that.
I loved Gray, he was so cocky and sure of himself and what he wanted but damn charming and cute with it. My kind of alpha hero. And I think Livvy will be one of those heroines you just know life is about to knock the shit out of her so I hope she rises like a queen!
Super gorgeous fast read. And it definitely wet the appetite for more. I just love this author's words.
Kreig you wonderful, wonderful mastermind… you got me out of a lil slump and right into heart-torture… I love it!
• Describe the characters / Who was your favorite character, and why? The novella was totally intriguing but for now I know that I like both and in the same way. Gray is such a perfect lover… wish everyone could get someone like him. And my heroine… she is strong and tough as nails.
• What was your memorable part of the book? The relentlessness from the hero was an absolute turn-on.
• Did the story grip you and keep you turning the pages? I fell after the first pages right into the story and loved every moment of it!
• Is anything left unresolved or ambiguous? Yes, this one ends on a cliffhanger and is a background story to the first book in the series. I wanna know what happened and I wanna feel all the feels!
• Did the book made you feel something? I could smoke right know (not that I am doing it… but if kinda feels like it)… that’s how it made me feel… =)
• Would you read another book by the same author? Yes, yes YEEEEEEEEEEES! She writes wonderfully with so much passion in her story’s. This is not the first book I have read from her… The Black Swan Affair was awesome too… and would recommend to everyone who loved this book!
• Would you read this book again? This is a short book… just and introduction into the main event… so I think I will not read it again… but I gotta tell you though this book got me so freaking hooked!
Wtf ! Really ?? I liked this book , but I’m a little disappointed! This story has great potential...but ain’t evolved enough!! 9 chapters , of which the half Livia is not sure if she can trust /love/end up in bed with him , meanwhile at home we find a prick of a father and a sister whom we know only the name ( but all Livia world turns around her ,like Livia said ) The remaining chapters, the story moves from Gray in love to the time where he is going to move back to Cambridge , to (hallelujah their first night together ) , to 3 F******g years Later where she just agreed to marry him and the last -drum roooooooooll- SHE just f***************g vanished !!!!!!!! Whyyyyyyyy !!!!!!!! I don’t understand!really don’t !!!!!
And you know why in this moment I’m feeling a dumb person ?? Because I’m going to read the sequel......... I need to convince myself that the Next Book may have the wow factor !!!!

I love this Prequel into Livia and Gray's story. I enjoyed how they met. Gray is simply sweet. The ending was sad though. I simply cannot wait to read the next book.

I was about 30% in Forsaking Grey when I realized there was a prequel to it. I saw it was short and decided to check it out since I wanted to read more about Livia and Grey’s story in the past. It was a nice short prequel to the actual story, but everything in it was pretty much already told in some form in the other book. I couldn’t quite get this insta love between the characters in here too, but I hope everything will make more sense after I finish the main story. Other than that this was a cute, sweet, quick, free read and I can’t wait to dive back into the main story again, cause it sounds much more intriguing.
I loved this introduction to Livia and Gray, as well as the Colloway family. Even though the attraction between Livia and Gray was quick, I absolutely loved how they took it slow. Not only did Livia make him work for it by getting to know her, but Gray was genuinely interested in her and her well being. The ending was a surprise so I'm looking forward to diving into Forsaking Gray asap!
I have no clue when I actually read this book, but it was a fabulous insight into some characters I absolutely ADORE. It was neat to get a detailed backstory. Definitely read this :)
Got this as a freebie from Amazon awhile back. Just getting to it now. This was the prequel (short story) to the main series of the Colloaway Brothers. Although I had no context (haven't read any of the books), it seemed like an interesting story and now I'd consider reading the series.
The story line was good it just felt very rushed and like there wasn't much character or story development. It ended on a cliff hanger but I wasn't attached enough to overly care what really happened next. Had a lot of potential but left a lot to be desired
Written by a new-to-me-author, K.L. Kreig, this is a sixty-four- page prequel (Amazon freebie) to an older series introducing readers to the Colloway brothers. For the most part, this book focuses on the insta-love romance that develops between Gray, a college student at MIT and Olivia, who works as a waitress at a diner while raising her younger sister. The girls have a poor excuse for a dad who drinks and gambles -- worthless to say the least.
There’s steam, a few laughs and enough angst that keeps the temptation at a high eager to know more. I adored both Gray and Livia. Couldn't help feeling sorry for her with such heavy burdens to carry. And high-fives to Gray for his kindness and support to her and her sister.
Prepare yourself for a holy wow moment with a heartbreaking cliffy that will leave you in a panic and rushing to get “Forsaking Gray” in your sights. Books 1-4 are all available on Kindle Unlimited featuring a different brother's story and can be read as standalones.
They seem like a cute couple and their story is a replica for the ones I have been consuming like hot bread all week but I'm not ready to dive into this one just yet.
There is something about them that turned me off by the end of this novella. Their story was steady in its progression with many possibilities ahead but I am just not interested in them as a couple, especially Gray. I just didn't connect with him. Maybe it's because I had just finish reading 'Found Underneath' by the same author and in reading this, it felt like I never left that story. I'll revisit the series but this novella didn't make me want to read the next, it made me realize that maybe it's just not my cup of tea. Plus side? It's FREE on Amazon.
Overall Rating :: 3 stars Series :: Book .5 of The Colloway Brothers series. Hero/Heroine :: Gray/Livia POV :: Alternating. Cliffhanger :: Yes. HEA ::

This is a nicely paced novella, leading into Forsaking Gray. There were sexy times and some insight into how hard to get Livia really was. After reading a bit into the next book though, this pre-novella doesn't really seem all that necessary, if I'm honest. Just a few chapters into Forsaking Gray, and everything that was communicated here comes across perfectly well already. But whatever! I'm not the writer here. Still well done overall.
Before I write my review I fill the need to remind everyone this is a 18+ book.
I really loved the story, even though this was just a novella a book before the first book. About how Gray and Livia meet and their first three years together.
I liked the way Livia and Gray meet. And who don’t want a man who won’t give up on a girl. It’s sad the life Livia has been forced into though a mother who left her and her younger sister and a dad who drinks and gambles. And she’s stuck making sure her sister has a good life. But it’s real life situations that most can understand which makes it a great book. The ending of the novella does leave questions am glad I have the first book ready to read or I would have been upset cause there is a big cliffhanger.
Oh the love. All the love. This prequel tells a tale of a beautiful love found........and then lost. And you just know....it's gonna hurt. After you read this prequel, you will have no choice but to immediately go right into book one because once the stage is set by K.L., and then torn to shreds from beneath your feet......you won't be able to wait to find out what in the ever loving eff happened. At least, that's how it was for me. I'm about 99.99% confident you will feel the same way.
Gray fell for Livia when he first met her and pursued her relentlessly until she gave in. He didn’t care that she was a waitress and had a sucky home life. He wants to take care of her and her sister. Gray did the knee drop and she said yes but then disappeared into thin air. I can’t wait to read their full story and find out what happened during those five years they were apart. Great way to begin!
