Didn’t you get the hint yet? I’m not a nice guy. I’m the man you need to fear. Hell, I sell fear. We call it protection, but in the end? Fear is what they want in return for their payment. I’m Grigory ‘Ford’ Dudnik, head of The Dudnik Circle. The Russian Mob, in case you need a label. We take care of threats, gangs, enemy or distasteful situations our clients may find themselves in. We have an obligation to do what’s wrong on a regular basis but even within the fine lines of murder and just plain old handling shit, we’ve got honor.

If that’s not enough…I’ve managed to tangle myself up with the head of another gang. Tarzan. Type of person? Hanged a man at a construction site, climbed the rope and stomped on the guy’s neck while swinging on the rope. Seems like Tarzan wanted to kill him twice.

My past and future seem to collide as we are contracted to handle a gang connected with snuff films. Loose ends are now left dangling; I either need to grab hold of the ropes and string knots or cut ties. Or feel the burn of the rope around my throat, leaving no room for revenge.

*** This steamy, dark, kinky, standalone romance is not for the faint of heart. You’ve been warned. ***

ok so here is the deal. I am ok with gratuitous violence. I can handle anti-heroes. And if that was all I had to deal with here, this would have been a solid 4.5 star read! I enjoyed the entire story!

Under my spoiler, I am going to relate why I could not rate that highly.

WHAT. A. RIDE.

Talk about a couple that is absolutely made for each other. Twisted and dark, Ford and Justice are a perfect match.

So different from the books I've been reading lately, Ms Schmidt managed to grab my attention from the first pages. Set amongst Russian gangs, violence and darkness are plentiful. However, right smack dab in the middle of it, two enemies fall into love. Not to mention the set up of the future stories.

-filthy talking alpha hero
-tough as nails heroine (not my preference, but Justice is the only type of woman who can be with a man like Ford)
-no cheating - once they meet, there is no one else for either of them
-lots of violence (it's a mafia storyline)
-twisted sexual preferences for both
-heroine pushed hero away for a short time
-good secondary characters with story set up for at least 3 others
-no epilogue, which was disappointing

Ford By Esther Schmidt was an intriguing read, I did enjoy this, but I also had some major issues with certain plotlines, This detracted a bit from my overall experience but taking everything into consideration, there still was more good than bad, so this kept me reading .
So first things first, a brief account of events going on here.
We have Ford who by his own admission is not a nice guy, Grigory ‘Ford’ Dudnik, head of The Dudnik Circle. The Russian Mob.
Yikes!!!
Ford manages to get tangled up with the head of another gang, Tarzan so-called because she hanged a guy then climbed up stomping on the guys head while swinging on the rope, PSYCHO MUCH LOVE!!!
 photo Katy-Perry-Is-Female-Tarzan-in-Roar-Music-Video-Teaser-378644-2.jpg
So in good old romantic mobster fashion, Ole Ford is struck all googly-eyed when he accidentally abducts Tarzan aka Justice and absconds with her to his evil lair, while she's still knocked out

CUE EVIL VILLIAN LAUGH!!!

 photo th.jpg

So If you're wondering how you can accidentally abduct someone,
well, gather round and listen carefully, it's so a mishap if you don't know who you've actually kidnapped, Yes, if this was just Jenny from the Block, that would be A-Ok, So long as it isn't someone important.
Ya got that!
When Justice awakes tied down and blindfolded shes ready for some playtime because this so isn't a scream your head off moment Girly is it !!!

 photo b8ac6f27ada21531bdfe0b.jpg

Shaking head in disbelief here.
 photo th 3.jpg

1) YOUVE BEEN ABDUCTED HONEY!!!
2) YOUR TIED DOWN SO HE CAN HAVE HIS WICKED WAY WITH YOU!!!
3) HE LIKES TO MURDER WOMAN IN HIS BASEMENT!!!
4) BUT ONLY HALF OF THEM HUN SO YOU DO HAVE A 50/50 CHANCE GOOD LUCK!

 photo th 1.jpg

So our two psychopaths connect a meeting of minds and bodies, merging like The king and queen of their crime empire and taking on together, a rival gang who are heavily invested in snuff movies.

So here's my main gripe and it may seem a stupid one, and I know you shouldn't look a gift horse and all that But Ford & Justice are Virgins, I do find this a highly unlikely scenario, but let's put that aside for a moment as that isn't my main bitch, My major shock stems from the fact that they are both instant sex Gods, no fumbling for them like us lesser mortals lol they dive right in and there instantly experts in all things carnal and sexy.
Also what is the crack with them both kidnapping and doing away with their little playthings if there not actually going to well play properly with them, what's the point.
the sex scenes themselves were steaming, there was absolutely nothing wrong with them at all, they were hot and panty wetting everything you could want BUT!!! and I'll say it again, they were both bloody virgins, not porn stars!!
Also, call me soft but the killing of innocent woman SO A BIG TURN OFF!!!
even if it was only second-hand information I found it really difficult to get past this.
I also struggled understanding how ford could have such an issue with the snuff when he has essentially done the same thing, maybe not during and for kicks but after he had finished playing with the woman he used.
you would think with what happened to his sister, this would be abhorrent to him.
this also negated his reason for abstaining in my opinion.
so let me get this right it's ok to take what isn't offered and then get rid of the problem if It protests too much. but let's not shag them because I'm so damaged from a past trauma and it wouldn't be nice.

 photo th 4.jpg

Mmm Makes sense NOT!!!

So Rant over for me, PHEW!!! glad I've got that off my chest peeps.
Anyway, All that aside, This was an easy read that sucked you in, I think my favourite scene was in that darn aforementioned basement again when Justice got to play observed by a gleefully sadistic Ford.
Some Go for Roses, This couple Rope & Torture, To Cute!
I suppose you could say Justice & Ford were a match made in Hell, Who needs heaven with these two badasses lol.
So I really wouldn't class this as a dark read more an unconventional romance with elements of grey, Ford was too googly eyes and sweet to Justice to be considered dark.
Maybe he was an evil bastard to all and sundry but I'm quite sure Justice got a free pass for life.

 photo th 5.jpg

So all that remains is for me to say Thank you to the author Esther E. Schmidt for providing me with a free readers copy of Ford (The Dudnik Circle #1) will be interesting to see where this series goes next. This is my own honest personal opinion.

Another amazing read by Esther E. Schmidt. Every book I've read by this author has been a hit for me. She has quickly become a favorite and auto buy.

This is Ford and Justice/Tarzan's story. They are each leaders of their own Russian mafia gang. The way they meet is absolutely crazy and as you get more of their story you know they were made for each other.

They're both a little on the psycho side but Ms. Schmidt makes you love them anyway. There's a scene where Tarzan is torturing a guy with a little help from Ford and I found that I actually had a smile on my face. Not really sure what that says about me lol.

As long as this author keeps writing MCs that are all about each other once they meet, I will gladly read each and every one. She is very talented and her writing and storylines work for me every time.

Grigory "Ford" Dudnik is looking for a target, a woman for the night and when she bumps into he has her. She is not what he expected though, Justice is aka "Tarzan" a leader of a gang who has a few tricks of her own. Ford usually ends the night with the woman being disposed of one way or another, Justice though he has decided to make his own. However his woman has her own ideas and a rival gang has decided they want her, Ford knows the best way of survival is combining their forces and getting Justice on board is key to that.

This was a bit darker than her other books. The story reminded me a bit of the Spitfire series from Jordan Silver, so if you enjoyed that you will like this one. Liked Ford, once you get past his oddities and he gets involved with Justice, he softens and becomes just as crazy as Justice. Entertaining.

Where to begin with this book...

I found Ford to be quite the interesting man when I first read about him Broke's book. He was a rough, tough, no holds barred kind of guy. Secretive and left me wondering what was his story. Get ready for the dark, deep world of the Mafia!

Envision the toughest, deadliest woman you know and then add someone who could make Hitler look like a baby. That is Justice and Ford!

Ford thought he was out at the club shopping for his next "plaything" when he meets Justice. He has know idea what he's about to get into by "taking" her home that night. He is about to meet a tigress in bed!! Wow, does it get interesting from there!!

Justice has many facades and not many people know the "real" her. She does it that way to keep her secrets safe and her in control. Ford is the last person that needed to know what she kept hidden. But she can't fight the attraction between them.

Get ready for hot, rowdy, beyond rough sex! Never thought the scenes that occurred in this book could turn hot, but they sure did! I feel that there was a bit of a missing link or depth with Ford and Justice, but this book was still a great read and another Esther E Schmidt winner!

From the first page you already can tell, that this wouldn't be Esther's typical style ride. This will be something else. And I so freakn much loved this.

Ford and Justice are kinky, dangerous, funny and extraordinaire. I fall for them from the beginning. And through the story my fascination with them grow. Theirs unusual personalities just clicked for me. Ford & Justice are like one soul divided in two bodies, they are so alike. I love that about them. The first meeting of theirs was... Well, something else and I really enjoyed it. I have to confess though, that at first I was worried a little about how theirs meet started. But I shouldn't had. Because hello, its Esther work we are talking about. She will never gave you the obvious outlook. You will just shake your head with amazement and think how she came up with this remarkable and enticing moments, that you just want more of them.

This is the best work of Esther's. At least for now. Because this book showed, that so far Esther only let us to see a little glimpse of her playroom and there is still lots for her to share with us. And I so can't wait for it.

First, let me tell you...Esther E. Schmidt was born to write Dark Erotica. Ford is by far my favorite of all her books, and YES!!! I have read them all.

Second, this is my warning, Ford is not for the faint of heart. Esther touches on some deep dark shit. If you can't handle that...you are totally missing out of one of the best reads I've seen in a while.

In the beginning, I thought she was giving away all her secrets too soon. But, she surprised the shit out of me and led me into a total and complete mind *#$@. I will never question her direction again.

Ford is a man you want to hate so badly but without warning you'll realize you're already in love with him.

Justice is a gorgeous woman. She's strong and doesn't take shit from anyone, especially Ford.

When these two domineering people get together the sparks fly and you don't wanna miss the outcome. I wish I could tell you more, but I know what Esther would do to me if I did.

So, just.... Trust me!!!
Smut is my addiction and I would never steer a fellow smut lover wrong.

4.5/5
Dark, Dirty, Hot Romance
Possible triggers for some people

OK, this can get a little complicated, so I'm sorry if it make no sense. Message me for more details.

Some back story:

-Both Virgins. ( they have never had intercourse with anyone but each other)
-H's sister was raped and murdered and he hunted down the man responsible and kidnapped his daughter. He was about to rape her in front of him but couldn't... he relised what he was about to do and it destroyed him. He never wanted to be "in a woman" ever.

Fat forward 4 years

-4 times a year H pick out a women to bring to his basement, tie up, master-bate then either kill her or let her go. NO SEX was ever has with any of these women or oral.

-once a Month h would do the same thing.. but with men... but always killed them... again NO sex was had. She's a virgin

-H picks up h for one of his "outings" not relising who she is..... a Russian gang leader, like he is.... and the girl he almost raped all those years ago.

-insta connecting and love pretty fast
-OTT alpha male
-Both virgins, inter course wise, H hasn't even ever had a BJ
-h is tough as nails!!! Female gang leader and bad ass
-this couple makes the ultimate power couple!
-obvious some push and pull when she finds out he was the one who almost taped her, they did not recognize each other and found out after they have been together.
-lots of LOL moments and OMG Moments
-HFN no epilogue.... BOOO, but they most likely will appear in other books..

This is a hard book to rate safety wise. Technically it's safe with exceptions because he meet h but then saw OW naked (no details in the book). Even though he was a virgin this could be upsetting to some people. But to me this book was pretty darn cloes to 100% safe.

I was lucky enough to get a ARC and all I can say is thank you.
The story is full of interesting stories and characters that means you just can't put it down. And it looks like this series will be one of my favourite. Now normally I don't read Mob/Mafia books as I'm a MC kind of book girl but this book may just have changed my mind.
Esther E. Schmidt you are one talented author and I'm your newest fan. Keep up the great work.

This one was a little dark and a maffia story and to be honest
I don't even like maffia stories but this one pulled me in!

And the HEAT level was high. **Fanning over here**

Sweet mother of all that's holy. you know how people say they feel like a an addict waiting on their next fix well that's exactly how I feel when it comes to Esther E Schmidt books. They just hook you from the first few lines, every time I read one of her books I think she can't possibly top that and she comes along with a new book that just out does her last one and leaves you blown away.

This is the first book in The Dudnik Circle series.
Ford damn that man is all kinds of dirty rough and sexy as sin. He is the boss of a russian mafia family and he isn't afraid to take care of business. While he is rough around the edges there's also another side of him you get to see now I'm not saying it's all hearts and flowers because it ain't but as you get into the story you get to see what has shaped him into man he has become.

Justice my god she lives in a world that is dominated by men but she is one serious sassy no hold bars call it as she sees it type of badass heroine and I really want to be her when I grow up. She hasn't had an easy life but she didn't let that stop her from becoming the woman she is today.

When these two come together it's not in the best of circumstances but that doesn't stop the explosive chemistry they share.
This is a dark romance that has just the right balance of intense gritty angst passion and hot as hell filled scenes. There is some good banter between all the characters that blends in perfectly with the storyline. I'm really excited about the future books in this series because who doesn't love a book about hot alpha mafia men.
Honestly I can't say this enough if you haven't read anything by Esther you really should she knows how to deliver some major addictive books. For me Ford is worthy of 10+ stars.

This book is absolutely amazing! But then again it is an Esther Schmidt read so its totally expected. I have yet to read one of her books that has not pulled me in from page one and had me hooked page after page. Esther was born to be a writer and this is yet another book to prove that. Whether shes writing about MC or Mafia, Dark or not, you are guarenteed to be addicted to her books within a short time.

Ford and Justice are a dangerous duo apart but when they get together its kinky and jam packed full of action, adventure, and Mafia.

Justice is a woman who knows what she wants and doesnt take shit from anyon even Ford the head of the Dudnik Circle. While Ford is someone who within the first chapter you want to hate and dislike but before you even realize it you have fallen in love with him.

There is so much to say about this book but without giving anything away all I can say is YOU MUST READ IT!! Another one of Esther's book that you do not want to MISS!

I seem to be in the minority with this read. I absolutely loved Tarzan and her strong willful boss bitch persona. She was the only saving grace for me to continue. Her secondary characters definitely got my attention too.

Now what didn’t work for me....

1. Badass psychopaths mobsters who rule their underworld kingdom and kill oh so easily are VIRGINS!! Yep, they were virgins.

2. Characters weren’t parallel. Inexperienced virgins magically turn into pro porn stars during their first time..
Ford’s history with women... he kidnapped women and had his way with em, yet he didn’t have intercourse.. ANYTHING BUT SEX...oh and sometimes he killed em. But he’s a virgin.

3. The storyline was choppy in certain places. Accidentally kidnapping a woman and starting a mob war.. yeah nope.

Regardless, I’ll be reading the next book because the character caught my attention.

Ford thought he was on the hunt for his quarterly prey. Unbeknownst to him the woman he has in knots could easily be the predator. His plans are derailed when this mystery woman has him breaking his own sexual code. He's not built to feel, especially for infamous 'Tarzan'. In a world of the volatile mob lifestyle, can these two powerhouses work together?

This is my confession: At first...I honestly thought that Ford was a serial killer on top of everything else. Thats the brutal vibe he sets off first thing. I do however love the twist about both Ford and Tarzan...kind of a little sweet mixed in with the carnage. In the over done Russian Mod genre...Esther really knocked it home for me. I am ready for the next book! Oh and Peacock? Cant WAIT for him to get his!

So I have read the reviews on this book and know many people took issue with Ford killing and assaulting innocent women . Justice apparently did the same to innocent men . For purposes of this review I will say this is fiction . There is a warning from the author so no this didn’t bother me . Yes both the hero and heroine were antiheroes and psychopaths.

Ford kidnaps women about once every three months , tied them up, and sexual assaults them but he never has intercourse with them , not that it matters . When he abducts Justice she is turned on by what he does . When he realizes who she is they discover they are made for one another.

Justice was a kick ass heroine but knew when to give Ford the control that he needed . They were perfect for each other in bed and in life . I really liked them both.

This book was not what I expected but it was so much better . I will definitely be reading the rest of this series .

Sooo.... I read this book and let me tell you, among other things that came into my mind when reading it was: the Praying Mantis, The King of the Jungle and Dexter, what they have in common? You can read this book and follow my train of thought. The protagonists were sociopaths, Ford was the anti-hero we all want, there was a good dose of torture and violence, some steamy moments, including shibari foreplay and I really want to read Peacock's story.

Ford

Two of a Kind!
A Perfect Pair!
This couple is each so sick and twisted there is no one else for them, they belong together.
A past incident they didn't know they shared should have kept them apart but actually kept them waiting for the other, somewhat saving themselves for the other without realizing it. That part blew me away! Separate but practically living the same life.
This book was dark and definitely action packed. It was awesome! Couldn't put it down.

This is the first book in this series however I love all of this Esther’s books and eagerly picked up this book without reading the synopsis. Ford is head of the Dudnik Circle gang. Ford has gone and gotten himself in a bit of a spot. He has a way of picking up women that isn’t actually conventional. Will out one night he picks up a girl and later when he learns who she really is when things get interesting. Tarzan is the leader of the Russian Doll gang. She too has an unconventional way of picking up men in fact it’s similar to Ford’s way. Turns out Ford picked up Tarzan. Both Ford and Tarzan’s past are just as connected as their present. Due to an event in their past they both haven’t been with any one even though they pick people up. Once they learn how their pasts are connected will they be able to have a future together? They are drawn together and both do things with each other they have never done with anyone else before. There are others things they have to face besides their intertwined pasts. There is another mafia boss who wants Tarzan for himself. As well as another gang kidnapping girls and making snuff films. This other gang is also connected to Ford’s past. Will he able to straighten everything out and claim the only girl he has ever felt anything for or will he lose everything? This book is fantastic and I can’t wait to read more from Esther. I love how the different series kind of tie in together. All the characters in this book are fantastic. The book is kind of fast paced but easy to follow and keep up with. There are some twists and turns in this book for sure. Esther is a fantastic author who creates worlds that just pulls you in. I was totally hooked once I started reading and read the book in a couple of hours. The characters she writes have such depth to them and seem so real. I can’t say enough about this book and Esther’s other books.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

What can I say about this book other than its dark and dirty and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for the faint of heart. The book contains issues of kidnapping, murder and assault so if any of those things offend you I suggest you give this book a miss.

Ford is the male lead of the story and not exactly the nice guy you might expect him to be, actually he is beyond that. He’s head of The Dudnik Circle or in simple terms the Russian mob. Patience is the female lead and well she’s just Patience, I don’t want to say too much about her character because I don’t want to spoil the book, but let’s put it this way, that girl is badass.

Some people could perceive Ford and Patience to be the bad guys of the story and in a way they very much are, but I actually fell in love with both characters through the good and the bad. Ford is dominant and loves to be in charge, but there is no way Patience will let him walk all over her.

Once I started this book I actually struggled to put it down even for a moment because the author pulled me in with the story and action, and with the little twists along the roller coaster of a journey.

There was one death in the book where it happened so quickly if you blinked you missed it, but one of the characters actually explained that sometimes the heat of the moment gets the better of them and people die before they want them to. I actually like how that was added in or I would have found that death quite disappointing.

Overall I loved the book from start to finish and did not find that any of the topics offended me in anyway and it actually gave some of the characters more depth, and reasons as to why they are who they are. If you don’t mind you stories nitty gritty and with lots of dark subjects covered then I definitely recommend this book.

This is my first read from the author and I quite enjoyed reading it, although at some scenes it was hard to read for me but I got through it. On the one hand you have Ford and on the other you have Tarzan/Justice; both run a respected 'Russian' gang that shouldn't be under estimated! When you read the story, you would think Tarzan/Justice can be handled but you learn right off the bat, you are 'dead' wrong! Definitely my kind of girl! In a world of violence, she stands her ground! That's one of the main things I really liked about this book. She and Ford mesh well together and it was very entertaining to watch them get more acquainted... But will obstacles tear them apart or yet closer?... It's a war out there after all, and when bodies are dropping around them, who'll have the upper hand...
*I received this book for an honest review* and I regret nothing :-) Definitely worth the read for me.

Ford, is the first book in the Dudnik Circle series by Esther E Schmidt. This book was very different to what I have come to expect from Esther. It's a darker erotic romance but it's no less engaging or entertaining than her previous books.

I will say that whilst reading the first chapter, I wasn't really sure what I was getting myself into, and I wasn't really sure if this book was going to be to my liking, but I am so glad that I kept reading.

Ford and Justice are incredibly complex and an intriguing pair of characters. Their bedroom antics are interesting as well as completely hot! Their story is full of drama, suspense, action and intrigue. This pair are completely fascinating with their dark and kinky side, but there are also moments of humor interspersed within the book, that provides a lighter side to this darker erotic romance.

The connection between Justice and Ford, is incredibly intense and the twists and turns in this book keep you thoroughly engaged from start to finish. I read this book in one sitting and didn't see several of the twists in the plot coming.

I can thoroughly recommend this book, you don't want to miss this new series and I look forward to reading more of the Dudnik Circle.

Ford is book one in the dudnik circle series. This story is short, fast paced, dark and action packed. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. If you have triggers than I would give this story a trigger warning as it features sexual assault and rape. I obviously didn’t like Fords hobby of what he did four times a year to girls. That being said, it made him intriguing. At first, I wasn’t a fan of him but as the story unfolds, I like him more and more. I loved that Ford got more than he was expecting when he kidnapped Justice. I freaking love Justice. I have a weakness for sassy and strong heroines. I love that she was the boss of a feared gang. I loved that she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. She had a dark side. She didn’t flinch or blink an eye about killing people.
The chemistry between Ford and Justice is clear to see and I really liked them together. I liked that they had shared interests and were both feared by many. They’re badass.
I liked that Justice got over her and Ford’s linked past and gave him a chance.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an action packed read. I cannot wait to dive into the next book in this series.

Arc for an honest review.
These guys are tough, violent and do not give an inch. Ford avenged the murder and rape of his sister several years ago, but has suffered for the wrong he inflicted on an innocent at the same time. Tarzan is a leader like no other in this group made up of different Mafia leaders, proven strength on several occasions. Justice suffered a trauma years ago which has affected how she lives her life, especially when it comes to sex. I loved this book, the subject matter is violent, the Mafia the same. Underneath it all they each just need to find their personal match, then you get not only a love so very fierce but the vulnerabilities that make them equals as well. The leaders working together to overcome mutual enemies was uncommon but I thought made sense. I liked that this was hard but also had humorous moments that made me chuckle to myself, the sexual content had me on edge almost as much as the characters were themselves. I cant honestly say that Esther has written a bad book ever, but this is definitely one of the best. But I love them all, the men and women I adore for all their flaws and the love they show each other without any embarrassment.
