It's not particularly compelling in terms of language or style. The topic of shark attacks isn't my favorite shark topic so this wasn't going to be a favorite anyway, however some of the language to describe attacks was repetitive and carried a lot of detail without doing much with the detail in an understandable way. The authors are clearly studied and knowledgable but there's not much to interest the average reader or avid shark fan with this book. It was informative, but mostly boring and lacked oomph. The copy I read is a 1988 publication, so in the year 2023 it is old news but not old enough to be formative to shark sciences.
