Three years after Jerry Sparks and his students were hunted by the megalania, Max, Jerry, and Linda are still studying the creature, learning more and more about it every year. Now, however, a new threat looms. A flying creature from another era has been attacking villagers in a remote part of the mountains of New Guinea. Max and his team of researchers are asked to come to identify the creature, which seems to resemble the pterosaurs not seen since the age of the dinosaurs, and perhaps find a way to stop the attacks. They soon discover that the pterosaurs are not the only danger hidden in the mountains. Now the group must find a way to protect each other and the villagers from the one enemy they had not prepared for, themselves.
Okay. This book is not as intense as the first book and takes awhile for the action to start, but still worth the read. Introduces Wendy and I am sure we will see more of her and her involvement...spoilers! A whole different culture is explored and serious trust issues are revealed. The way this book is written, and especially the ending, leaves one panting, yeah I know what I said, for the next book in the series. And the language is do clean. Did catch s few errors that the editor missed, but not Nearly as bad as some books. Keep your eyes out on this one sci-fi and adventure fans. He takes you out of the box and out of your comfort zone. Well done indeed.
