A history of Echuca, once a bustling inland port on the Murray River, at its junction with the Campaspe River. Here steamers called, cattle passed through on the way from NSW runs to the goldfields of Victoria and more.

Parts of the port have been retained, a couple of steamers still run, but dams and drought5 have reduced the mighty Murray to a palimpsest of what it once was.
