Boy i am on fire five issues before i could fall to sleep. In this issue gwen meets miles morales and she is totally invading his life with all the secrets she knows about him. It seems she's going to have trouble with those aliens though.
I am a fan of Gwenpool, and I love when she gets to interact with other heroes! This time around is Miles Morales, the new Spider Man in town. Her, being a total fan girl dork, makes it known in an occupied train that she knows who Miles is, and he of course thinks of her as a threat. Soon enough though they are saving people and encountering mysterious enemies. The Spider Man references abound, with Gwen calling Morales "Tiger" and he saying in passing that "Gwen's" are no good for Spider Man fellas. Eeeks!
On the other hand Gwen has her friend back, though in ghost form, and he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself (he can't touch anything, or be touched, don't know as of yet if he is going to have powers or how long he is sticking around). The M.O.D.O.K. team has decided to follow Gwenpool's lead, she did defeat their old leader after all, but will they continue to waive the banner of evil doers? I guess we will find out with the next comic book when Gwen meets the mysterious boss who gives them the assignments (so when you think about it, MODOK was just a manager).
Gwenpool is the ultimate comic book fangirl. Her room has big posters of superheroes who she's now interacting with. Seems to me like her favorite is Miles Morales, aka the new Spiderman. They finally meet in this issue, thanks to Gwen having a mild fangirl freak out, and end up teaming up and working together. All the while, Gwen is avoiding her responsibilities as new boss lady of the evil space people she's working for.
This issue wasn't necessarily a filler, but more so an introduction to the next half of Gwen's story. It wasn't the greatest, action packed issue, but it opened a door to the craziness and probably good turned bad things Gwen is going to get herself into next. This time she'll be accompanied by her new friend Spidey. I'm excited to see what happens next.
I got a random issue of Gwenpool from Marvel's digital codes and it turns out I still love this series outside of the holiday specials. Why is their advertising working so well on me? I resisted ordering every issue immediately on ComiXology but I do have the first two trades on hold with my public library.
Issue #5 – “The Ghost of Consequences” Gwen resurrects Cecil as an undead ghost using her meta-knowledge and a touch of dark magic. She tries to play hero by stopping a bank robbery but makes a mess of it. The issue continues to juggle fun with consequence. Her growing bond with Cecil becomes one of the emotional cores of the series. We start seeing that Gwen wants to be more than a side joke.
I guess I need to read about the new Spiderman because I had no idea there was a new spiderman. I thought that dude just filled in for an issue but now it looks like he's the new Spiderman.
I think it's cute the him and Gwen are teaming up. But perhaps not for Spiderman... you know how he always has a problem with Gwens (har har har)
Gwenpool/Spider-Man team-up! This was okay though not as entertaining as other issues. But hey, I'm interested in who the client is and what happens with this team-up arc. Lastly, I was a little bothered that the artist changed.
