Meteors, signals, apologies, and that tricky little thing called humanity - four years after the events of Portal II, Wheatley's been handed a second chance, but it's not going to be plain sailing…
Still such an all-time favourite. I am another who actually had this fanfiction printed and bound in a hard copy, just for myself. That says it all I think. The only bad part is how long I’ll have to wait until the next read.
I probably shouldn't have added it to Goodreads, but, as so many people on the internet have actually hand-made a hard copy of this incredible Portal fanfiction, I figured it deserved a place in Goodreads as well.
I love the concept of Portal so much - it's the only video game that I've actually wanted to play long-term, and I'm even happy to watch walk-through videos of it - for hours! Because the humor, the characters - all of it is so on point and now this - a fanfiction, a good, solid story, capturing all of the beloved characters so well, giving a bit of depth here and there, but, most importantly - not losing anything at all from the originals.
I haven't even finished yet, I have some 15% left of the story, and it's not a great, life-changing piece of art, no. It's one of those books that are a big deal just because it just grabs you by the neck and pulls you in - I've been doing nothing else since Monday night - and is perfect for what it is. And this time it's a Portal fanfiction. And I love it.
Edit: Aaaaaand I'm done. So many questions. But I forgive the story that. I'm not one to hate books for plot holes.
