BOOK ONE - 5 STARS!
I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, sexy, steamy, suspenseful, and had quite a few twists and turns along the way. This book was really good and just as the getting was getting good... BAM, the book ended making me want so much more.
This is Elizabeth's story. Elizabeth grew up with meager means. She hasn't lived a rich life... until she married the "right" man. She is a Senator's wife and wears that title proudly. She has had the line, marry for money not love, instilled in her since she was a child be her mother. Elizabeth did exactly that. She is doesn't love him and she definitely isn't happy but she bears it and smiles. Well that is all about to change when she meets... HIM. He makes her feel. He makes her wants. Most importantly, he makes her want to live for herself for once. Will she take a chance on the idea of love?
Elizabeth.... I have mixed feelings about her. The vain"ness" she shows is horrible. She is up front about why she is with he husband... money over love. Yep she was raised that way and that theory was instilled in her but come on... she is basically pimping herself out. Yes, she has her reasons for leading the life she does but at some point, she has to live for herself. I loved her towards the end because the REAL Elizabeth was breaking through. And our mystery man, seriously yummy and sexy! I am totally rooting for him!
That ending... damn! What a effing cliffhanger! I can't wait for the next! :)
I highly recommend this book... cliffhanger and all!

BOOK TWO - 5 STARS!
And the conclusion is here. I was dying for this book after the ending in book one. Picking up where book one left off, we are back in the lives of Elizabeth and the man she loves. And it was fantastic. This book was full of suspense, action, intense moments, and tons of steam. This book was pull you in and devour you by the end. Full of twists and turns, get ready for one wild ride.
I loved and admired Elizabeth. She made me feel. God I felt so sorry for her. She literally was living in hell with no escape or relief. I just knew that she would find peace if she pushed herself. She got to many breaking points but the strength of love helps you push on and find strength. And Alex was her rock. He was more than she knew but he was what she needed all along. Alex was strong, amazing, and so loyal. I loved how his protective and alpha side came out with Elizabeth. These two had tons of chemistry and the steam just poured off of the pages.
Oh and that cover . . . one word . . . lickable.
I highly recommend this book.

I was pulled right into this story. Lots of twists & turns and plenty of suspense.
This is Elizabeth’s story. She is the wife of a Senator. She married for money and not for love. So is she a happy woman; no she is not but she will act like it to the outside world. Does she love him? No she does not love him. She got married and stayed married as that was what she was taught. Marry for money not for love. You can feel the sadness and unhappiness that rolls off the pages of this story.
I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Great writing and wonderful story!! Elizabeth and Alex/Bryce were brought together by her husband Sen. Callahan Fitzgerald. Alex was her bodyguard and eventually became her friend and lover.
This story is like a movie written out. Love, Betrayal, Corruption, Action and of course Sex....
Cal's and Elizabeth's marriage was not all picture perfect as they led everyone to believe. He was a manipulative, controlling and abusive husband. Elizabeth allowed her Senator Husband to treat her in that manner because she needed his money for her poor mother's sickness. Without Cal's monetary support her mother would not survive. She plays the supporting/loving wife for all to see after all he is also running for President.
When Alex comes in as Elizabeth's bodyguard he notices her and all she does to maintain herself as the perfect spouse but he sees right through her facade. They both fall hard but knowing that he is not supposed to fall for his mark is what makes it difficult because behind the Fitzgerald' s "perfect" marriage is a trail of corrupt politicians and drug cartels.

I love these types of suspense/drama/romance novels! Elizabeth and Alex's story was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time!

I loved reading this amazing book. This is the second time and I'm sure that I will probably read it again at some point. Rachael not only made her story interesting but managed to involve the reader emotionally in the lives of her characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a mix of intrigue, heartbreak and undying love. I look forward to reading more novels written by Rachael Duncan
