I'm a bit on the fence with this book. While most of the research cited is solid, the audacious confidence of the author is a bit offsetting. I'm fairly sensitive about overselling the conclusions of individual studies and the author does seem to do this throughout. It was as though the author picked up a book on classic studies in organizational and industrial psychology, took their most obvious implications, and packaged them into a digestible format that dilutes the nuance and limitations of the research. I would caution readers to beware the promise of easy solutions to hard problems in the world of work.
Using the power to navigate the situation so you never lose. Employee that felt important tend to perform better. Shocking facts, financial rewards actually demotivates other people instead of the usual opposite expectation by workplace manager. Put your own stamp on the work to improve your motivation. This book offers many strategies to adopt stronger bond among organization and your life.
I loved the book. Like all of Leiberman's titles, it's clear, concise and practical. His stuff is always a cut above the usual self-help and this one doesn't disappoint.
