Ed eccomi qui a commentare la lettura.
Riassumendo la mia stessa recensione, da un lato mi è piaciuta la trama d'azione/intrigo politico, ben pensata, anche se non originalissima (si vede comunque che l'autrice ha una certa esperienza in campo). Il problema di questo libro è che ha bisogno di un editing: ho passato tutto il tempo della lettura a correggere letteralmente tutto, talmente certi errori mi impedivano di leggere serenamente. Questo ha chiaramente tolto gran parte del piacere alla lettura, che diversamene sarebbe stata più agevole e gradevole.
Un altro problema, minore ma comunque esistente, è che la trama è molto prevedibile: ho indovinato tutti gli spoiler e credo anche di sapere già cosa succederà nel secondo libro.
Come dicevo, la narrazione risulta spesso appesantita da errori ortografici e soprattutto di punteggiatura, al punto che purtroppo a volte si perde il filo del discorso e tocca ritornare a rileggere le frasi appena lette.
Per cui, ecco le mie osservazioni riguardanti la forma:
- uso dell'apostrofo scorretto (tra articolo indeterminativo e sostantivo maschile è veramente inguardabile!)
- aggettivazione ridondante, che appesantisce il racconto
- errata consecutio temporum (occasionale, ma frequente; N.B. quando si passa al dialogo interiore, va usata la prima persona singolare anziché la terza, e i verbi vanno coniugati all'indicativo presente)
- indecisione nel dare del tu/Lei/voi: se si parte usando una certa persona in un dialogo, non la si può continuare cambiando modo di porsi all'interlocutore, altrimenti il linguaggio risulta artefatto e incongruente; così come frequenti cambi di punto di vista all'interno della stessa unità narrativa
- errori ortografici generici, probabilmente dovuti al fatto che l'autrice non è madrelingua italiana, soprattutto nell'uso delle preposizioni (almeno che = a meno che; infastidito di = infastidito da; differenze fra futuro e condizionale: potremmo/potremo)
- troppi vocativi: non sono sempre necessari se la scena è fra due interlocutori o se è chiaro a chi ci stiamo rivolgendo
Parere personale: taglierei su certe parti lunghissime (specialmente nei combattimenti) e sulle ripetizioni. Anche l'uso di più sinonimi aiuterebbe la scorrevolezza generale.
Per quanto riguarda il contenuto:
- Una cosa davvero fastidiosa è continuare a ripetere ogni tre per due quanto siano avvenenti e/o intelligenti i vari protagonisti o ribadire la loro descrizione fisica; inoltre, non c'è bisogno che un personaggio sia perfetto o esteticamente appetibile per apprezzarlo!
- Le storie d' "amore"... Sarà che io non sono una lettrice romantica, ma è indubbio che queste storie siano tutte identiche! Se qualcosa fa sorridere, suscita più di una risata il fatto che . Anche qui si capisce da pagina 1 che piega prenderanno le sottotrame amorose, ed è tutto molto - troppo - instalove, o un tira e molla molto contraddittorio. Diciamo che questa parte non è il punto forte del romanzo. (P.S. se un ragazzo mi dicesse "ti amo, donna!" probabilmente lo lascerei in due nanosecondi)
- Questo anche per quanto riguarda le amicizie: è impossibile - soprattutto fra donne ;) - che appena due si incontrano, dopo 8 secondi netti abbiano voglia di condividere tutto.
- Usare meno parolacce in contesti inappropriati, o almeno variarle.
- I personaggi dovrebbero essere un po' più coerenti: è quantomeno strano, curioso che un personaggio politico importante prenda a parolacce davanti a tutti un ragazzo sconosciuto, così come sembra improbabile che un'abile e rinomata avvocatessa si faccia i fatti della protagonista con domande inopportune dopo un giorno che la conosce.
Secondo me con questi accorgimenti diventerebbe un romanzo da 4*, perché la storia c'è, l'inventiva anche. Decisamente migliori le scene di combattimento: si vede che l'autrice è una professionista nel settore, probabilmente ci ha anche lavorato. Ha poi in mente un quadro sociopolitico e ambientale molto lucido ed interessante, molta inventiva soprattutto sulla moda, sull'arredamento e sulle operazioni di spionaggio; la maggiore conoscenza su questi argomenti si riflette anche su una maggiore correttezza grammaticale: la scrittura risulta più scorrevole, on point. Anche culturalmente è un libro interessante: grazie ad esso ho scoperto più cose sull'Ebraismo, sulla lingua ebraica e sull'ecologia.
Seguirò certamente le evoluzioni future di questa scrittrice, un'anima certamente buona che incoraggio a continuare a scrivere, data la fantasia e la capacità di creare situazioni. La ringrazio tanto per avermi dato il libro in cambio di una onesta recensione; comprerò i seguiti per sapere come procede l'avventura.

I have never read a novel that intrigued me like this one has.
Moonhuntress takes you to world of espionage, action, adventure, steamy love...
The characters are truly unique and memorable. The visual of the context takes you into another realm. I am following this writer!

Wow! This book takes off in fourth gear high side and never stops! Bina Kophfler is a Mossab agent working on a high stakes mission in the middle east when this story takes off. She's dedicated her life to the service of her country as a very capable and deadly spy. As the story unfolds she discovers she's seeking an enemy known as the Horus Co. In the beginning she knows so little, but she's sent to various places around the globe in search of answers. She isn't alone in her quest. Other agents are seeking answers too and this is where she meets sexy, SAS English agent named James. Bina may have an exciting, dangerous life, but she is very alone and lonely. She longs to be loved and for a time she believes James is the man to fulfill all her dreams. Then she meets, hot, dark and dangerous Dante who kind of turns her world upside down. But she's convinced she's in love with James. The two are on the brink of something serious when James is sent on a mission in South America and comes up missing. This opens up an opportunity for her and Dante, but will it be a happily ever after?
I loved how this author so seamlessly blended romance and high intrigue creating a plot that never failed to satisfy. There was always something happening that made you want to turn the page. Bina was a very strong, courageous character that in some scenes was kicking ass but in others she maintained vulnerability and femininity. A very good balance I thought. Another striking complexity to the story was how well the author painted scenes. You could almost see yourself on tropical islands and in places of danger imagine yourself there as well. Based on the ending I can see this book is going to be a series. It could stand alone, but trust me you'll want to read other works. If you're a fan of romance and spy adventure, you really couldn't find a better read.

Some of the beginning chapters play like vignettes, introducing new characters and plots. The author weaves her ethnic experience into a very detailed, believable story full of beautiful scenery, Israeli, Italian, and Indian culture that could easily become the next edge-of-your-seat blockbuster.
To be honest, the setting change in several chapters confused me at first and I began to think this was a book of short stories-- until connections revealed themselves. So patience is a virtue here and it pays off in a million shekels.

While the thriller story line side of the book is very good and the tension mounts, the romance side of the book is kind of cliche'. The characters are well developed and all have their own stories which does make for an interesting read.
There are special op groups from all over the globe joining forces. This includes Mossad, SAS and the CIA - - their primary mission is to track down the origin of the Horus Co. and destroy it but this is not a simple task. Leading scientist have disappeared -- here one day and gone the next. Supposedly they died in different accidents or did they? As events develop the tension and excitement build to an action filled end.
On the other side is the romance story surrounding Bina the Mossad Agent. First it is a familiar tune: gorgeous spy, everyone falls in love with: an old acquaintance who is a Mossad agent, one SAS agent that she loves dies or does he? then she is in love with another agent and then at the end the reader is left hanging as to her future personal life. What annoyed me a little is 3 men in love with her and every one of them call her 'baby'. It kind of got old.
The ending of the book had too many loose ends. I realize this is to lead into another but everything was left in the air.
Like I said though, if you want to read Moonhuntress just as a spy thriller that part of the book is very good. Connie Shipley also did a great job with character development.

Il romanzo parla Bina una giovane e bellissima agente del Mossad che, cercando di districarsi tra pericolose missioni e una vita privata incasinata e misteriosa, dovrà affrontare un'organizzazione criminale che proverà a distruggere il mondo.
Secondo me il romanzo ha alcuni lati positivi ma anche alcuni lati da migliorare.
Molto interessanti sono le ambientazioni l'esotica Israele, l'affascinate Italia e le bellissime isole con le loro magnifiche spiagge. Ben pensata dall'autrice la parte d'avventura e l'intreccio spionistico che anche se molto lineari incuriosiscono e invogliano a proseguire il lettore.
Purtroppo non ho apprezzato i personaggi tra cui salvo Astrid, Isa e la simpatica coppia Aaron-Alex che sebbene secondari hanno una minima caratterizzazione che mi è piaciuta, mentre la protagonista lo trovata un po' incoerente, prima è una donna forte e decisa poi diventa un'adolescente che non sa resistere ad un paio di addominali. Un'altra cosa che non ho apprezzato è la parte romantica del romanzo che è anche molto consistente, Bina intreccia delle relazioni con: Liev assolutamente inutile sia a livello di storia che di crescita personale della protagonista, James poco caratterizzato ma che io ho preferito tra i tre e Dante personaggio che ho apprezzato poco anche se il più presente.
Nonostante tutto è un romanzo scorrevole e leggero con un colpo di scena finale che fa presagire bene per il seguito.

Mossad Agent Bina Knopfler finds herself teamed up with both the CIA and SAS to prevent a potential fourth generation, clean nuclear bomb from getting into the wrong hands. The possible consequences of such a weapon would be catastrophic as nations would no longer worry about nuclear fallout and be able to inflict the largest amount of damage to their foes without the deadly side effects.
This novel was extremely well written and well researched. When reading it, I could not help but appreciate how much time and effort it must have taken to research all the military, political, historical, and geographic information that went into creating such a story.
This novel was also a quick read with very vivid characters. Her character development was superb and gave overall credibility to the story. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone interested in any thriller genre.

D'accordo con Jessica, il romanzo ha lati positivi e meno. Sicuramente ci sono ampi margine di miglioramento per le prossime avventure.
Mi sono piaciute le parti d'azione, soprattutto la prima, senti il ritmo che incalza. Bene nel complesso a mio avviso i personaggi, meno, ma è un mio gusto, il lato romantico / spirituale e certi intrecci di trama un pò tirati. Efficaci la maggior parte delle ambientazioni.
