Travelling deeper into the Beast Realm, Lost and his party find begin their experience of meeting new races. Lost is convinced that the second stone tablet is in this land, and is motivated to find it.
Little is he aware that a much thicker plot lurks behind the game, entailing a dark future for many.
In an adventure of friends and foes who could end up being foes and friends, one trial after another appears before Lost, testing him in all aspects.
Not worth reading and not very interesting so wouldn't waste time and money on set as I did. I purchased based on trumped up reviews and just figured the bad ones just didn't enjoy it or were overly critical- I was wrong. Hope this review prevents others from such as I was not able to get refund after reading 1st book in the set.
Extremely disappointed with the character development, or rather the reversal of development and the complete stagnation of the AI. The story refocuses back on the main three characters and the companion AI but fails to move any relationships forward outside of a slight development in the MC and his companion AI and even that is so slight until the very end as to be stagnant. The other two protagonist real life personalities took a step back and instead of three friends learning and growing together they just create nearly pointless conflict outside of the aunt and growing their friendship would have easily had the same effect IMHO. I understand that this was a book written with some huge writer block issues it still feels like a huge down note for the series. I have faith that the author will get things together and refocus himself for an excellent volume 7!
Had me for the first three but the story just isnt my thing
The writing and LitRpg style is surprisingly good. I really enjoyed the first 2 books.
My issue is with the strange wolf-girl-fantasy-incredibly-attractive "Fen". Her plot line developed too slow, and I have never been a fan of clingy hot artificial intelligence types in these kinds of stories and this is no different. I am glad to reach no.6 but will not be picking up the new ones. Enough is enough. I cant handle it anymore.
Sad because I enjoyed Lost's and Co immensely save for Fen.
At some point the falling number of readers will hopefully make it no longer worthwhile for the author to keep churning g these out, juvenile characters who act annoyingly stupidly, adolescent erotic misogynist fantasies and repetitive dialogue that goes nowhere. What started out as a promising series has degenerated in to a more and more irritating wander through a pointless story- though to call this episode a story is to high a praise- don't even bother starting
This was my least favorite book in the series so far. It completely ignored everything that made Lost so fun in the previous books. His legendary class, his speed skills all of a sudden suck, mediocre raids and dungeons. I felt it focused on Fenn too much and in a boring way as well.
I couldn't make it through this one. Sad to say I'm done with this series. Plot lost focus, and the characters became one dimensional. I enjoyed the series, but it ran its course for my entertainment. I will continue to read D. Wolfin's works though as I really liked his new series Chronicle of the Eternal.
The conversation and interactions of the characters felt stilted and forced in the first half of the book. It did get better the second half, but I think I'm done with this series.
Wolfin has a way of making me want more! I read through the 6 books and cannot wait for the next in the series. I also want to check out his new series. If it is as good as this one, I already love it!
