There is something new and deadly living on the islands of Darwin.
Months after the incident in the Sea of Cortez, marine biologists Maria Quintero and Kevin Hoyt are now in the spotlight. Whether they wanted it or not, they now have their own reality show, and the network is getting restless that they haven't yet returned to the water. The solution seems simple enough: taking Maria on her dream trip to the Galapagos Islands, where a tourist has disappeared under strange circumstances.
It seems like a simple, relaxing trip. Which can only mean that they will soon be fighting once again for their lives, even as evidence starts to mount that there is a conspiracy afoot...
Is this total popcorn fare? Yes. Will I continue shoveling it into my face as quickly as it comes out? Also yes. Look, if goofy, far-fetched science thrillers are your bag (looking at you, The Meg), but you're tired of all the cishet white nonsense... This one's for you. I'm not sold on her (apparently trademark, I'm all series) 4th wall breaking, but I'm strapping in for the next one.
