There is more than one author in the Goodreads database with this name
Not only do you only get 7 books not 20 there are horrible grammar errors all threw out the book and I mean horrible. Ones that could have easily been fixed if the writer reread what they just wrote or typed even once. Maybe two and half of these seven books where good the rest where just either back acting pornos or just plain crap. At the end of the seven books you find out that you have to go to some other web page to download the ready but the web address doesn't work and I couldn't find any answers as to how to get the rest of the books without buying it all over again at a higher price and really I don't think it would be worth it to just get maybe two or three good stories out of the rest.
This is for 3 of the books and I will return to review the rest once I have completed the box set MOON COVEN Let me first say I was sad to see the story end as it is a paranormal twist to a Romeo and Juliet type story that pulls you in and keeps you reading wanting to know what is going to happen next. All in all it reminds you that love can overcome all no matter who says it is forbidden.
ESCAPE TO EDEN Sage's story pulls you in and makes the reader root for her cause in a very exciting and well written book. I had a hard time putting it down!
ROYAL SEDUCTION Ok I really really really liked this story and hope that there will be more to Neva and even Misty's stories. I mean who wouldn't love to have two sexy men that can turn into dragons as mates!!
Review based on Royal Seduction by Isis Pierce only.
What will happen if we mix niemal girl, dragon shifters, gods from mythology and crazy friend (during book it will be explained ;) ), we will receive good pnr with a strong heroine and sexy heroes! I was really glad that it was more about situation, emotions and relations rather than personalnego interaction! Good job ;)
OMG!!! This story was awesome!!! We have a lot of different supernaturals here (dragon shifters, shifters of all kind, gods, witches, and everything in between). We even have normal people. I loved the main characters!!! Neva, Evan and Devon were amazing!!! I want to read more about them!!! Kudos to the author!!!
1. Blue Blood Trilogy by May Sage **2 Stars I loved the way this started. Alien race invading earth because of fertility issues. Some are nice some are mean, some people accept and others fight back. Lena was great and I loved her relationship with the Emperor and his cousin. It was so fun that I was able to ignore the fact that it read like an epilogue. Then it just got annoying. The never-ending sarcasm and sass, the unnecessary secret keeping, the overly dramatic responses. I made it to the last chapter and literally couldn't will myself to read it, I just didn't care anymore.
2. Changed by Debbie Herbert **2 PR Stars This wasn't really good or bad, just kind of meh. I get that it was a short story but I think there was too much squeezed into this one.
3. Redd's Descent (Dark Wood Series) *1 DNF Star I thought this seemed like an interesting premise but a chocolate chip cookie in someone's nether regions was just seriously disturbing.
4. Theta Waves (Book 1) by Thea Atkinson **2 Stars This wasn't terrible, just not for me. A post apocalyptic world where anything religious is snuffed out immediately. A girl who can see someone's past lives by tasting their blood and she's also a drug addict. And then she gets grabbed by a bounty hunter and goes on the run. This was weird, and once they started to get too into the past lives thing, I gave up...I'm really just not into stuff like that.
5. Dead Town Angel (Foxblood .05) by Raquel Lyon Not Interested 6. Garda: Welcome to the Realm by Stacy Eaton Not Interested 7. Messiah by J.E. Taylor Not Interested
8. Moon Coven by Connor Kressley *1 DNF Star Julia and Roman are from rival covens but they love each other. They maybe dated for a while...then Julia tried to kill herself and Roman went blind in one eye. What happened was never really explained (up to the point I read anyway) and it became extremely infuriating to read a book stemming from events that you're never told.
9. Royal Seduction (Paranormal Seduction #1) by Isis Pierce *1 DNF Star This had an annoying heroine who was so sure that everything she read in paranormal romace books must be fact. Oh, and she was super confused when people who had different hair color were twins (especially after she described the one as having bleach blond hair). And this had the most awkward and ridiculous "shifters meeting their mate" scene.
10 Sorceress Found (Gargoyle & Sorceress) by Lisa Blackwood Not Interested
11. Laws of Attraction by Jayne Faith *1 Star This an ok premise but just didn't work for me. With everything going on it made no sense for Spider to be there, and Jake didn't seem like he would work with someone like that. So it just seemed like he was only there to cause conflict, and that just fell flat.
12. The Scavengers by S.M. Schmitz Not Interested 13. The Vorkian by Nirina Stone Not Interested 14. Unleashed (#1) by Rachel McClellan Not Interested 15. Verity by Kerry Adrienne Not Interested
16. The Night by N.R. Larry *1 DNF Star This was strange...I don't think we really need a break down of every step of going to the bathroom.
17. Hunter Bond by Carysa Kaye Not Interested
18. The Deepest Black by Rainy Kaye *1 PR DNF Star A girl goes around killing evil fae...because she can see them for no reason. She runs into a fae she has seen before and they decide to team up. This is very long winded and it makes no sense...the characters are flat and I gave up a little more than halfway through.
19. Flames of Auriel (Celestial War Chronicles #1) by Erin Bedford *1 DNF Star Spoiled princess doesn't want to do princess things because wearing dresses and learning your responsibilities is dumb. She is promised to marry the spoiled prince with no personality. I'm just over female leads who promote the idea that doing "girly" things is somehow wrong or embarrassing. Just because something may not appeal to you does not make it bad.
Blue Blood May Sage I love the way she creates a world and draws you in. I don't like the way she skips over several years. This story was very good. She could have easily given several characters their own books. It was definitely a book, not a short story.
Changed Debbie Herbert felt like a very short story and didn't really draw me in, although I wanted it to.
Redd's Descent: A Dark Woods Series Book C.M. Albert I skipped. I may go back and read it at some point. It's a dark retelling of red Riding Hood.
Theta Waves: Book One Thea Atkinson is about a homeless drug addict with a gift on a post apocalyptic setting. It was an interesting read but as you can tell it's meant to be the first book in a series. It reads like an actual book not a short story.
Foxblood: Dead Town Angel Raquel Lyon I skipped because the first line of the summary said " Would you know if you met your guardian angel? "
Garda: Welcome to the Realm Stacy Eaton I skipped as it also seemed to focus on some sort of Angel situation.
Messiah: J.E. Taylor was a much longer read than I expected. It follows the life of an alien from about the age of eleven to well into adulthood. It's got a lot going on for one book. I'm unsure where the title came from but the book was very thorough and interesting.
I haven't gotten further than that yet. There seems to be nineteen books, although I may have miscounted. This is Wicked Legends Second Edition. Hopefully I'm posting the review in the right spot. The other titles are Moon Coven, Royal Seduction, Sorceress Found, The Laws of Attraction, The Scavengers, The Vorkian, Unleashed, Verity, The Night, Hunter Bond, The Deepest Black, Flames of Auriel. I read a review that said there were only seven stories instead of twenty and I do not understand why her version would be that short unless maybe she only downloaded a preview instead of the book??Seven books in is about twenty percent of the book on my Kindle. page 3322 on my Kindle is the beginning of book two and only seven percent of the entire book. I hope this helps. I will try to edit this review as I finish a story or two so I can give a fresh and clear opinion. I also got this book with my Kindle Unlimited Subscription. However, in my opinion it's current price on Amazon is super cheap even if you don't have Kindle Unlimited. * EDIT* Moon Coven by Conner Kressley AND Rebecca Hamilton is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet. It's modern day and full of witches and magic. I enjoyed it. It is a complete book. Not a novella and no cliffhanger.
Some of the stories were pretty good, one was out of this world fantastic, "The Night" by N.R. Larry the anthology was worth it for that story alone!! Blue Blood Trilogy by May Sage was another good one alien/human female mates, fertility issues. The banter between the emperor's mate and his cousin was delightful, the emperor's confusion was mostly funny a little strange at times, was very short but very interesting, would like to read more. Theta Waves (Book 1) by Thea Atkinson I liked as well, very strange premise a post apocalyptic world where anything religious is killed immediately. A girl who can see someone's past lives by tasting their blood and who's also a drug addict. She gets grabbed by a bounty hunter and turned into the mayor whom she reads and he wants her dead but instead the bounty hunter kills the mayor and they go on the run. It's a strange story but very interesting if your into the past lives/present lives type of story. Moon Coven by Connor Kressley was a good Romeo and Juliet story a bit short and without necessary background information for the story to make sense in some places but quite enjoyable. Flames of Auriel (Celestial War Chronicles book 1) by Erin Bedford was another good story about an arranged marriage between kingdoms when the prince and princess were children seeing each other once a year for the summer, prince an spoiled brat and princess a tomboy grow up to realize they fell in love but only after they thought it was too late. Lots of intrigue and a little eh spots but enjoyable read. Sorceress Found (Gargoyle & Sorceress) by Lisa Blackwood way too short to get interested and the rest some of which I read were eh or not worth it and some I wasn't interested in so I didn't read them. I like that the anthology was set up with a blurb in front of each story so if it's a genre that I'm not interested I could skip it.
Julia had left her family home 18 months ago and was called back by her grandfather. Julia wanted to stay on the farm in Iowa but when the head of the family and coven tells you he needs you to come home you go. Roman was her ex but he was also the oldest son of the coven that her family had been in a feud with for years. After seeing each other they both realize it's not over. But grandfather has other plans he expects Julia to marry a man from another coven to combine that families and there power. The dark magic that follows is extreme . I love this box set so many wonderful stories
I enjoyed the stories in this collection very much. Some more than others. There is any number of paranormal entities represented in the various stories. Some of them I will be looking for more or continuing stories. The one thing I will say is in some of the books, there are some noticeable grammar issues. Not enough to turn me off finishing, but a second editing wouldn't hurt. But overall, a collection I would recommend to any one who enjoys paranormal or dystopian works.
To begin, these tales deserved every bit of 5 stars! I gave 4 because no one believes 5. These were great bits of mind candy. My only complaint is these stories needed their own individual series though lumping them together certainly was a great introduction to each of the authors! Now to go find more of these! Thanks!!!
Kindle Unlimited, so many writers and so many different types of stories which are sort of in the same genre but not, maybe sub-genre, well worth the read and it's not as if you have to luv every story, although I liked them all in different ways, so definitely worth a read
Dystopian, fantasy, paranormal, a little bit if everything. The dystopian stories were quite intriguing, the paranormal ones not so much at times. A good read in general.
I am not a huge paranormal fan. Given that, I was impressed by the writing of each novel or novella in this box set. If you are a paranormal, fantasy reader this box set is definitely for you.
I LOVE THIS COLLECTION!! Amazing comes to mind as I drool all over the list of books in this collection. I do have some reviews to post on some of the books and will update as I read more so here you go:
Moon Coven - Kressley/Hamilton ~~ The heart wants what the heart wants and sometimes it goes against everyone and everything you have been taught to believe. Julia and Roman have a lot to deal with since their families are arc rivals. What happens when their clans are threatened and there is deception and plenty of it from the inner ranks. Between the twist and turns how do you know who to trust? A splendid plot and wonderful writing style makes this a must read and I highly recommend it to all who love magic and love.
**This is a review for an updated version of Moon Coven" the correct version of Moon Coven is now available in the collection**
ESCAPE TO EDEN - Rachel McClellan ~~ What a nice read and well done story line. A teenage Sage wakes up with no memory and the words run now on her fingers. What happens next is an action packed story that goes from one action to the next. While everyone else around her uses enhanced abilities her abilities come in the form of emotions and words. I love that she is passionate ad stubborn, strong and emotional, although sometimes the story seems drawn out it is still a great clean read which is refreshing. Definitely a story that will grab and keep any young adult, it is also fun with some laugh out loud moments.
Wicked Legends: A Dystopian Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy Collection by Rebecca Hamilton and 24 other authorsis a great boxed set. It´s an anthology of PNR novels from international and national bestselling authors.
I review Box Of Secrets by Raquel Lyan. Piper works at Hayhurst Antiques. A mysterious stranger -Rixton- comes to sell a antique box. Her father disappeadred six month ago. Then she finds a mysterious letter, other strangers appear and there is an third dimension. This novel is well written and I rate 4 stars.
I review Rebecca Hamilton´s Moon Coven Julia Fairweather´S coven is at war with Roman Blackwood´s for a long time. After years Julia is back home in Savannah with her family. 18 month ago Julia left Roman. They meet and things get Hot and Steamy. There are enemies and danger awaits. 5 beautiful Stars and Thank you Rebecca Hamilton.
I review Rainy Kaye´s The Deepest Black There is Ember, a fairy hunter. The fairies wants her dead. And the fairies are nothing like tinkerbell. No they are violent and evil. She´s abducted but escapes and in the end she´s fae herself. This is my favorite story. The Deepest Black is well written and 5 rate 5 Stars and Thank you Rainy Kaye.
If you loved the first book in this series, then you will adore this one. You won't believe what Romy goes through, or what she finds out about her parents' and the planet's history. This has more twists than a rollercoaster.
Entertaining - even more so than the first book - engrossing - please remind yourself you have to get some sleep - and utterly enjoyable.
The Deepest Black by Rainy Kaye
If you thought you knew everything about fairies, you haven't met this dark and flesh eating lot - nor do you want to!
Ember is our heroine, but she is less than perfect (for a nice change). She is an awful lot stronger than she thinks she is, as you will find out. Remy is a Fae, but he doesn't eat flesh...at the moment anyway.
This is a mysterious, action packed, entertaining romp filled with lots of beings of all kinds. I zoomed through the pages, and so will you. The ending was scary, then quite beautiful. I don't want to say anything more than the blurb on the book, as it would spoil the twists and turns for future readers.
Most of these were fabulous - and the authors put together a huge, FREE, compilation of books. I can't say 'thank you' enough for giving me the chance to read works that I might have missed otherwise. I'm impressed enough that I will seek out and purchase more titles from these authors.
Charmed and Dangerous: When Callie and her best friend Skye mess with the Ouija board one night when they were 12, Callie's life gets changed forever. She gets sent away to live with her aunt in New Jersey to keep her safe from the danger that's to come. Callie is supposed to become a super witch when she turns 20 on the Summer Solstice. When she comes back home 7 years after being sent away, she runs into James, an immortal. They fall for each other but immortals are taught to stay away from witches for the fear of being bound during the witches life. Will the two be able to stay away from each other? What about when Callie learns a secret that her mom and grandma have been keeping, will they all make it out alive in the end? Surprising alliances must for come together if they want to survive the upcoming battle of dark magic. Loved this book! Can't wait for the third book in this series!
Moon Coven by Connor Kressley (This is a review on the updated version of Moon Coven)
Julia Fairweather's coven has been at war with Roman Blackwood's for generations. However love takes no notice of little things like that. To make things worse Julia's coven have decided to cement their domination over Roman's, she will have an arranged marriage to a warlock from another family.
Roman is determined to keep his distance and Julia is struggling to accept that she has to do her family duty and marry a stranger. Can they resist the pull between them, or will their families tear the area apart in their war?
I loved this story. I could see and hear everything in my mind as I was reading it. I found it addictive and ended up reading it faster and faster as I got nearer to the end of the book. Definitely a Romeo and Juliet but with a nicer ending.
I will review more stories in this book as I get to them.
I couldn't get past all the grammatical errors to get into the first couple of stories.
Moon Coven switches from first and third person I couldn't keep up with what was going on. That was by chapter 2. Not sure what the second story's name is because I only got to the blurb and couldn't bring myself to read anymore with how horribly it was written. If that is what I have to look forward to, this is not the book for me. I don't like having to decode each sentence to figure out what it means from the lack of puctuation and switching of point of view. I read to relax not stress.
I loved the variety of stories in this book. There is something for everyone who has a love of the weird and wonderful fantasy. It is a bargain to have stories from these great authors at such a discounted price.
Here's my recap of the first 10 books in the set. Warning: don't download the sample and decide not to buy the set just because Blue Blood's editing is so atrocious (seriously, it's terrible). That's not indicative of the whole set.
Blue Blood: Plot, 4 stars. Editing, 0 stars. If you're not bothered by misused words and bad grammar, at least know that the story was good. And it's a full story. Strangely though, of all the stories I read, this was the only one with no synopsis. It's sci-fi, and a good story, if you can get past the lack of editing. I soldiered through, but just barely. Not recommended, because quality matters to me.
Changed: 4 stars. This synopsis read like it was for publishers. The story was about soul harvesters; I read part of it, but didn't finish it. Seemed to be well written.
Redd's Descent: A dark fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood. Didn't read it because fairy tales aren't my thing.
Theta Waves: 5 stars. Apocalyptic sci-fi. This one was a real gem. Mostly well-written and polished, with the occasional misused word. The plot was original, like nothing I've read before. There's a Part Two, but this had resolution and felt complete. Although there were unanswered questions, as a reader I wasn't left frustrated. And yes, Part Two is on my wishlist.
Foxblood: The writing was OK, but the plot was overly simple. Would likely appeal to YA audience. DNF.
Garda: Subject didn't appeal, so I didn't read it.
Messiah: 1/2 star. Science fiction. This was really, really simplistic, and the plot felt very bare bones and poorly thought out as if someone dashed it off in an afternoon. "Hey, I think I'll write a book today!" I kept stopping and thinking 'wait, that doesn't make any sense.' No logic to the characters' actions. DNF.
Moon Coven: Not a fan of stories about witches as a rule, so I didn't read this one.
Royal Seduction: 0 stars. A dragon shifter story. I like these occasionally, so I had high hopes, but it read like an author's first effort (maybe it was). Awkward phrasing, stilted dialogue, and misused words like deducted instead of deduced. The heroine Neva became Never in one paragraph (you really should know your heroine's name). And the plot was so silly that I found myself mentally rolling my eyes. Another DNF.
Sorceress Found: Plot didn't appeal, didn't read it.
The Laws of Attraction: 5 stars. Pure sci-fi. One of a kind plot, sheer fun to read. I. Loved. It.
So that's as far as I've gotten. I'll add more as I get through the set.
One other thing. Most sets have all the synopses with handy clickable links at the beginning. The clickable titles are nice, but the synopses along with them would be even nicer.
