The Servant Queen and the King she serves

Rate this book
The Queen marks her 90th birthday this year. To celebrate, Bible Society has joined forces with HOPE and the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC) to publish a book about the Queen’s Christian faith.

This beautifully-illustrated short book uses the Queen’s own words to describe her faith in God, offering us all an inspiration.

In all that change, the Queen’s faith has remained consistent. The Servant Queen explores and celebrates the place of Her Majesty’s Christian faith in the context of her formal role, public ceremony, her personal and family life, in times of celebration and in the face of adversity.

We’re also honoured that The Queen herself has provided the foreword for this book.

This encouraging tribute written for her Majesty's 90th birthday was given me by my Scots pen for more than sixty years. It's a summary of a life of a monarch devoted to Jesus Christ and her determination to rely on her faith to guide her each day through the good times and the bad.
Queen Elizabeth says, "Each day is a new beginning. I know that the only way to live my life is to do what is right, to take the long view, to give of my best in all that the day brings, and to put my trust in God...I draw strength from the message of hope in the Christian gospel."
The book is an inside look at the life and rule of the most famous, and probably most respected woman in the world. Would that more world leaders were guided by the same principles.

THIS was the kind of book I thought I would be reading when I picked up the Faith of Queen Elizabeth. This book was filled with quotes of hers, all pointing the way to faith in Christ either right from the Bible or by her example to the Commonwealth.
She extraordinarily led the world by example from her childhood years, but especially from her coronation by asking others to pray on her behalf that she might faithfully execute her office to serve the people and glorify her God.
A short, worthy read, with beautiful photos! I was so happy to find a copy at a reasonable price.

This is a sweet, quick read that gives a bit of insight in Queen Elizabeth's faith life. It quotes quite a few of her Christmas speeches, which I enjoyed, and reflects a lot on how her love for God shaped her character of diligence and duty. You can easily read this in a day and come away with a few nuggets of inspiration.

A brief, but well-written and illustrated book about the faith of Queen Elizabeth II, her belief in Jesus Christ as "the anchor" for her life, a faith she lived quietly, but acknowledged openly on many occasions, especially during her traditional yearly Christmas broadcasts, portions of which are included in the book.

Throughout her life, the Queen has consistently proclaimed the Christian gospel. It has given her strength and comfort and peace as she has grown in Christ.

I really enjoyed this insight to a fairly private woman and her Christian beliefs.

Every word, every picture was delightful! I highly recommend this book about the late great Queen Elizabeth II written on the occasion of her 90th birthday in 2016.

Nice little book on the Queen. May be a stretch in some claims, but it did make me consider picking up something more substantial on this woman and her impact on the world.

Interesting to read a book about the Queen and her faith, and as a British person I'm not sure I am able to dislike anything written kindly about the Queen!
