Shifter Romance

Destiny Roads thinks the tall handsome stranger is like no one she has ever met before. She is an author of the macabre and the paranormal. She is doing a book signing with the final stop in her hometown of Phoenix, Az when she receives a note from John Nelson.

At first she thinks he is just some rabid fan, but when she reads the note she realizes that she has to meet this enigmatic stranger to find out what he wants and how he knows so much about her.

Meeting him at a coffee shop down the street she discovers that John is a bear shifter. He has sought her help in discovering a cure for the curse because she is the leading authority on all things supernatural.

She decides to help him because she knows that he is for real and she can’t help herself from being entranced by his smoldering eyes, chiseled good looks, and his bad boy charm.

But stepping into John’s world is going to be far more interesting than any of her books. Destiny is about to start a journey that will take her to a world beyond imagining where she will discover a love so pure it can accomplish anything.

Is Destiny ready? Is she ready to unleash…

First let me say that the writing style of this book was good. Some parts of the story, such as how John was turned, were unique and amusing. I think the author is probably really good and I may check out other books she has written, but I will be a bit more careful to only read some of the more 'typical' shifter romance books.

This is the second book I have read by Selina and I have really enjoyed both books. Destiny Roads is a paranormal author who did tons of research before ever writing a paranormal book. She is thought to have lots of knowledge and expertise on the subject. She on the last stop of her book tour when she is slipped a note and asked to meet someone at a local coffee shop. She goes and meets John a handsome stranger. He informs her he is a bear shifter and has some questions for her. He wants to know how to not be a shifter anymore. He wasn’t born one but changed by accident by an ex. Destiny knows of only one way and she is willing to help John with his predicament. She finds herself very attracted to John. Partly because of her shifter nature and partly just because of the way he acts as a man. John wants to just a regular man again. He doesn’t like how he isn’t in control when his bear takes over. He also finds himself attracted to Destiny and maybe she is what has always been looking for in a partner. I liked how this book focused on how not all shifters may like being a shifter, also that it focused on how there may be a cure for the shifter curse. This book is sort but well worth the read. I look forward to reading more books by Selina in the future.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

***I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

I was surprised at the new approach that was taken with regards to being a shifter. I've never read of person made a shifter that could actually reverse the process. I've only heard of this in vampire related stories so kudos to the author.

Paranormal author Destiny is contacted by a actual shifter. The shifter John wants information he thinks Destiny might have to "help" him with his affliction. She tells him about alphas and that there was a possible solution to his condition. She told him that by killing the alpha of the bloodline could free him from the curse. She and John set out to cure him and to explore their feelings for each other. John and Destiny are in for an adventure.

This is the second book I read by Selina Coffey (Kane being the other) and it is the least favorite of the two. Bear No More had parts that were written beautifully and parts that were rushed. Maybe if it was longer (it is super short), it would be better, with characters that do not feel one-dimensional, because the plot has promise.

John goes from killer to regular guy in an instant which threw me off. Destiny supports him no matter what, even though he decides to kill two more, even if it is to lift the 'curse'. As a couple, I did not feel their chemistry, and that deducted from the story.

Overall Selina's writing shows promise, and I will read a few more of her books before I decide if her work is worth it or not.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This story was not for me. I read tons of PNR and shifter stories and honestly, this story did not work for me from almost any level. There were too many details about places and things. I would rather have read more details on the characters themselves. It reminded me of one of those hokey movies where someone is attacked by a werewolf and undergoes violent, murderous shifts during certain times. I didn’t like it, but I always try to read at least 2 or 3 stories by an author that is new to me before I decide that I don’t like their stories or particular style of writing. I have another story or 2 in my Kindle from this author, so I’ll give it another go at sometime within the next week.

Considering it was a short story, it was better then I thought it would be. Well written and once I started I wanted to see how it would end. A few parts made me laugh. Liked the different take on how shifters came about. I also liked that it was clean in terms of sex considering it is a shifters story. No chapter sized sex scenes. More inferred then described in detail. Would work as an introduction to a series. New author for me and this story worked well as an introduction to how the author writes. Good short story and I would check out more of her books.

This is a very quick read, about 400+ pages. It's a different view of bear shifters so it was a little bit refreshing that way. Destiny loves everything about learning the paranormal life of shifters and has learned a lot over the past years. John was never a bear shifter until one night his ex bit him and since then he turns into a bear and kills people. He doesn't want to live like this anymore. So he asks Destiny for her help. Can they figure out how to help him? I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Got for a honest review.

I liked the story and the characters. It moved at a steady pace to keep the story moving along. It was different from other shifter books I have read. So that was a nice change. I only had one question or thought while I read it. The spot were he kills Amy. Did they leave the body in his house, and not do anything with it?

Thank you for letting me read your story.

This was a really quick read that could have been expanded on but was a good story. This was definitely a different take on shifters where the human is the knowledgeable one on the subject. Destiny and John had a quick and cute relationship.

This book is short but sweet. I think it had an interesting storyline. I enjoyed the romance between the characters but do wish we could have gotten more time with them.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book for an honest review and I have to say it was the fastest book I have read in a long time. It was a little far fetched regarding the shifter sense of being able to remove the curse.

Selina Coffey has written a great story with a whole new slant on shifters. This is a short read, but I was drawn right into the story. Destiny originally meets John because he needs her expertise. Sparks fly in more ways than one! This is a great, quick read for Paranormal fans.

This was my first time reading this author and the paranormal storyline was written very well, an original , the characters had chemistry and it wasn't just one huge sex scene from beginning to end .

More like a 2.5 could have been much more if not a rushed story.

Bear No More had an original, or at least for me, storyline. I wish it had been longer, given time for the characters to evolve, not to have been as rushed.

A very short read (38 pages according to my reader). I liked what was there story wise, but I had a hard time connecting with the H&h. With the "intrigue" happening as well, the romance and getting to know the characters was very rushed. There was also so little holes in the story, (sister and "clean up") that maybe need a little detail or awrap up.The book was well written and had a different take on shifter romance that was a nice change, however, die hard shifter fans may not like that take. *I received an free copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.*
