Vicky is in love with Payne. But Payne is a complicated man, and she knows he only sees her as a warm hole to relieve himself in. The heartbreak over that is real, but she loves him too much to stop what they share.
Payne and Vicky are explosive in bed, and he doesn’t want that to stop. But he also won’t admit how he truly feels for her. Maybe he’s a bastard for keeping his mouth shut, but he doesn’t want to ruin what they have by saying anything.
Keeping her at a distance, and only having her by his side when they are between the sheets is what’s best for both of them.
When Vicky finds out she’s pregnant with Payne’s baby, she knows she can’t stay with a man that doesn’t want a commitment. Leaving is the best option for her and her unborn child.
When Payne finds out Vicky left, he realizes how badly he screwed up. Now he’ll do anything to bring Vicky back, and make her his old lady. She’s it for him, and he’ll prove that to her any way he can.
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
This is the third book in the Soldiers of Wrath MC: Grit Chapter series. Payne is the President of the Soldiers of Wrath MC in their Grit chapter. He thinks if he had an old lady she would have a constant target on her back and be in danger from his club's enemies. Vicky came to the Soldiers of Wrath clubhouse to be a sweet butt (club whore) but once she landed in Payne's bed that's where she stayed. Vicky didn't plan to fall in love with Payne but she did and she knows he'll never claim her and now that she's pregnant she has no choice but to run away. Now that Vicky is gone he realizes what a fool he's been and that he loves her now he just has to figure out how to win her back.
After King I needed Payne and Vickys story like yesterday. And I have to say Sam & Jenika did justice to theirs story. Though, I would liked a little more strain between them at the begging before Vicky making the run. What can I say? I love drama. Lol. But in all it was good. Loved how Payne opened his other side for Vicky. He was still rough around the edges, possessive alpha male but he also become sweet and caring. Payne let himself to show his love for Vicky. It was amazing to see his hard-core biker side interflow with softer one.
And like with Paynes book, I need the next one like yesterday, after those few little snippets about other members of the club.
Typical MC story. Man-ho club members. Club groupies, etc. I didn't care for either of the main characters. Vicky leaves Payne for a reason and that's never really resolved. Payne's attitude 'I don't want a woman' to 'family man' is instantaneous and makes no sense. This was novella length and a quick read. I may have enjoyed this more 10 years ago. My reading tastes have changed and I prefer more story and character depth now.
She is pregnant and she loves the baby daddy but he doesn’t feel that way about her, now her only option is to leave…
I am not sure that I like Payne after his physical heavy handed treatment of Vicky’s best friend, Clara. I mean who chokes a woman except maybe a wife beater, rapist or killer, so I mean really if he is supposed to be a decent guy, why would he abuse a woman? This makes me wonder what kind of man Payne really is even though he appears to be good to Vicky. I really like Clara and how she stuck to guns and stood up against Payne even when he was choking the shit out of her. I get why Vicky left Payne but I really think she should have told him why she was freeing him and not expecting anything, it would have been the right thing to do, except then we wouldn’t have this awesome story. Payne’s reasoning for not committing to Vicky was his fear for her safety but the thing is there was no indication that she was in any danger from her association with him or the MC so for me that didn’t wash to well as an excuse, because every indication was that there was peace and the only real danger was to Payne himself if a deal went bad and now that I am following this line of thought I am realizing that he thought he was thinking he was saving her from that? Interesting how the brain follows thought processes to a final conclusion. The bedroom scenes were there but not as page steaming as I would expect but they were enough to tease your senses a bit. Given all of that I still really like this story, I can’t help it, the authors did a great job of sucking me into the story and keeping me there and coming to the end was a real bummer.
I seriously did not like Payne in King's book, I wanted to hurt him. Thankfully I have a change of heart. Vicky is so totally in love with Payne and her heart is breaking because she thinks Payne only wants her for one thing. Vicky has a secret and does what she thinks is best for her. She decides to move on without him. Payne is a sexy alpha jerkface a**hole. When he realizes Vicky has left, he freaks. He is finally realizing just what she means to him and refuses to give her up. Will he find Vicky and convince her to come home where she belongs? Will she give Payne another shot to be in her future? Get the book, you won't be disappointed!
I kinda skipped over the other books.. I might read them later lol
Payne is the Prez of the club and has been pushing and pulling Vicky along.. and she had enough knowing he won't every settle down or want her she packs up and leaves. Realizing his mistake he tries to find her but Vicky doesn't wanna be found right now, since she is pregnant and wanting to distance herself from the club and Payne.
4 months have passed and Payne finally finds Vicky seeing her pregnant he finally man's up and claims his woman making her his old lady, but it's still a push and pull between them for a few.
We also get a small sample of Grim and Reaper with Smalls sister Cat And Small and maybe his lady? Are there books for this already?!?!
Can Vicky give birth without drama? Let's see what happens..
Instalove/lust Tough cocky asshole alpha male Stubborn tough insecure gal No cheating Drama Background chara (from the club I want Smalls story and Grim and Reaper) Unplanned prego Sex Anal play Hea Epilogue
Payne and Vicki needed time apart for them to see what they really had in each other. Vicki has been in live with Payne forever..Payne loves Vicki but won’t lay claim to her for fear that she will become a target against him. Admirable but unnecessary. Even without the claim, she’s a target..he might as well come clean and claim his woman..and her secret.
Enjoyed Payne’s book. Sure, he became a big marshmallow once he owned up to his feelings, but watching him thrive and grow was worth his sappy love moments.
This book wasn’t bad but not as good as the others in the series. What I hate is that it’s been 3 years and they haven’t finished the series, which seems to be a trend. They set up for the remaining characters: smalls and the mystery jogger, as well as Reaper and Grim with Cat, but there is no book for them. It might not have been an issue but with the number of books these two put out there is no reason for the series not to be finished.
This was a good story about Payne and Vicky. This was a story that made me want to cry in places and made me laugh too. I am looking forward to the next one.
When Vicky up and leaves Payne without so much as a goodbye, he loses it. He doesn't understand how she could just leave him. But when he has to face the truth that he hurt he by not claiming her and now must face his feelings, the hut begins. Vicky loves Payne with everything she has but when she finds out she's pregnant and believes Payne won't want her she runs. But when he does catch up with her the true fight for love begins.
This story was great for the series continuation. I really liked that we got to see more of Payne and Vicky. The author picked up where book two left off so I highly recommend reading it first! I really liked this because while there was the normal clubhouse stuff that wasn't the focus here. To me it showed that it's not always crazy times and fights. The battle Payne and Vicky had were their own demons. Vicky - she needed so much more than Payne could deliver. Trusting him was the lesson she had to learn throughout this story. Payne - he had to realize that he had a strong woman at his side and trust in her and them. I like that he didn't really change except to figure out how to show Vicky what he felt for her. This story was a great quick read and I can't wait to see where it takes us in the next one.
This story was exactly the way I wanted it to go. I wanted their story after King so urgently and this did not disappoint.
Vickey decided that she couldn't be with Payne anymore cause all he saw he as was one of the Club Whores. So she left and she took a secret with her that she didn't share with Payne
Payne didn't know how much he cared for Vickey until she left him and took everything with her. So he decided that he will get her back and do everything in his power to let her know how much he loves and that he can be the man she wants him to be.
I loved how this hard strong biker went about winning his women and became the man she wanted him to be.
Awesome job ladies. I need Reaper and Grim's story...
Payne is in love with Vicky but he's a hard mc alpha who won't show his feelings. Vicky is in love with Payne but wants more from him that the hit crazy sex they have. She's ready for a real relationship but is tired of waiting. Now that she's pregnant she realizes it's time to leave before Payne destroys her. This is the wake up call Payne needs. Will Payne find Vicky? Will Vicky forgive him. This is a great story that is full of agnst waiting to see what happens. Now that Payne has opened his heart and soul he's not sure what to do with the feelings he's having. I loved seeing Vicky stick up for herself and Payne's suffering for being a idiot. This was a great book by the duo Snow and Crescent.

Payne screwed up so bad when he didn't acknowledge Vicky as his old lady. She thought he didn't care so she ran and took a secret with her. When Payne realizes how bad he has messed up, he's determined to find her and bring her home. It's going to take a lot of trust and showing his feelings to prove to her he loves her. He finds her, goes to get her and gets the shock of his life but he is going to prove he has what it takes to stay by her side for the rest of their lives. I loved this book and liked that we get caught up with King and Beast and their old ladies. Now, I want the twins or Smalls book next!!!
I love this series. Vicky makes a discovery...and it will change everything between her and Payne. Instead of hanging around waiting for his reaction....she takes off....and hides from him.
Sometimes it takes a person leaving, to realize what you want and need to live. When Payne finds out Vicky has left, he stops at nothing to bring her home
I love all these books, and each one gets better and better!!!!
That old saying, you don't know what you got till its gone. ....Payne almost lost everything because he was afraid to tell Vicky how he truly felt. Finally he went out and faught for her love and together they both got everything and more then they could have every dreamed about. Great sweet love story
This was a quick read, mainly because this book is a continuation of the series. A lot of background and relationship was established in the previous series books. There are a lot of misunderstandings between them and our hero puts in a lot of work to show that he's vested in this relationship and that he wants it to go further and deeper.
Eh..super predictable, after everything was said and done whoever didn't realize that Vicky was going to run back to Payne and continue her Obsession with him, well you're just plain fucking stupid.
Truth is the bits about Smalls, Grim and Reaper were more interesting than Payne and Vicky's ridiculous relationship..
Yet another great addition to this series!! Jenika & Sam are two very talented ladies!! I couldn't put it down until I was done!! A definite must read!! I just absolutely loved it!! Happy Reading!!! :)
I loved reading this. The story is so sweet, even if we are reading about a badass MC. You can't help but love these men and their women. Together for each other and the other MC members no matter what. It's a great series. I am looking forward to more.
