Great book.
Hmmmmm....Dr. Wolf. This series is awesome. The writing style of the author is one where I can visualize every single detail as if I was there watching the whole scene play out. How incredibly talented she is! Aleric is a kind hearted sole of a werewolf who wants to help everyone he comes in contact with. And he has a heart of gold even though he had a rough past. A spell binding, heart wrenching series. Loving it!

So creative! Just when you think you've met the most outrageous fae creature, you haven't! Thinking they all went home when the rift was opened again, Aleric finds new creatures with new plans out to get him and take over human control. Very exciting writing, plot, characters -- a real win!

The Four Horsemen starts where Demon Spiral finished. Can I just say that I love it when an author does this?! Yes, in this instance, I've been reading these back-to-back, but usually, I have a gap between them. So to have that little reminder of what has gone on is just brilliant in my opinion.
We are back with Aleric and Dartan as they try to find the Four Horsemen or rather the First Horseman, to stop him from spreading the plague. Of course, it's not as straightforward as it appears, but Aleric is exceedingly good at untangling knots and putting the pieces together. With his friendship with Dartan, and budding relationship with Lilian, Aleric has it all going on. Add into that a Horseman who loves cooking, a flying cat who adopts Aleric, a sphinx who doesn't want to be there, plus gorgons and a vampiress, trust me when I say it's all action!
I loved the flow of this story as we learn more about Aleric, and his and Dartan's relationship carries on in the same vein, with ever-present witty comebacks from both of them. With an ending that leads to the next book, this was completely enthralling. Absolutely loving this series. Definitely recommended by me.

The Four Horsemen are definitely not what one would think... I mean, Pestilence named his horse Buffy and his name is Perry! He loves to cook and feed people - healthy food. Famine named his horse Fluffy and goes by the name Fabian. He's a softhearted sort that adopted two orphaned grims. War (okay, I forgot his name already) but he named his horse Bob (but Aleric secretly calls him Muffy) and only likes it if warriors fight, not people who aren't trained for it. And Death - or Doyle - is in love with a nymph named Haga, named his horse Duffy, and hates having anyone come to him prematurely - unless they deserve it. And they DON'T want to start the Apocalypse. Go figure. Plus, Aleric goes charging around trying to save everyone again. Perry accidentally starts a plague - ah, read the book. Meet new characters, laugh with old, and let's not forget a werewolf with a minky.

Because of the characters, I loved this story. It was like a family reunion or something. Aleric is a werewolf. Because of a weird accident, the rift between realities is torn open. Something started the plague and Aleric knows who. It has to be the first of the four horseman. Now while I loved this story, I had of had to laugh at the way she portrayed the horseman. One is a chef, trying to build a business and live his life. One is a sobbing mess because his horse is missing. Too funny though. I think if I wasn't so into the story, I might have had issues. But we learn to accept the weirdness of this series and love it.

Aleric and his crew if fae creatures are back and better then ever! This time they are dealing with the four horseman Perry, Wallace, Fabian and Doyle. They may sound scary but they are super sweet. They each have a request to have Aleric figure out and deal with. This is a very action packed adventure with a mystery and love. Lillian gets more if a role and maybe dr. Wolf will find love!! There is a dragon in their mist's so it's off to figure out how to defeat it.

As with the prior two books, this is a non stop rollercoaster of a read. The pacing is well down with a few places to catch your breath before diving once again into the action and mayhem. Not much time is spent in the hospital this time round and Aleric's relationship with both Lilian and Dartan have significant progression.

Romance... Finally
Or sort of. Really, I get the whole wolfie bonding thing, but she just all of the sudden is his girlfriend? When? How? Something is just missing.

Hard one to review
These books move along at an extremely rapid clip, somewhat like the movie "Speed". And similar to my reaction to that movie, things would happen that were just a tad bit too coincidental and/or over the top. (Deliberately cheeky on my part.). They- the books- can be really entertaining at times, and I do like the cast of characters. Especially Minky.
On the downside, there are a number of times where the characters from Fae would reference things of our world, which made me shake my head. Consistency is a good thing. There were also misspelled words and occasionally poor grammar. (If I had a dollar for every time someone "was bit" rather than "was bitten" or "had been bitten", I'd be able to pay off the national debt!!!) Another thing while I'm on a roll: the character of Lilian. For about three pages her name had unintentionally been written as Lillith, and then she's back to being written as Lilian. Lest you think this was a plot device, be rest assured that it wasn't. It's a plain old-fashioned boo-boo on the author's part. I get it that authors want to self-publish; it's laudable. But when your work reflects badly on your authorship, for Pete's sake, get someone competent to look it over!
All that being said, I will read the fourth and last installment because I have already come this far. And I need to make sure that things work out for Minky!

Huge cliffhanger
That’s the only reason I drop this one a star. Normally this authors books feel completed but you know there’s more coming. This one ended on a cliffhanger and that’s not my thing!

I actually cackled at different points throughout with Aleric's "inside scoop" on the Four Horsemen!
What a story. From the last book's ending with a patient mumbling about a horseman to the full-blown fear that the potential apocalypse was imminent, through to the end (which I won't spoil), this was a thrill ride. Not to mention, these are the four horsemen like you've never seen them before! Wonderful characterizations that both jive with and contradict the typical image of the horsemen. (In fact, just about all the characters in here are amazing.)
It is a series, so there isn't a lot of introduction to characters or prior events. Does end on a new cliffhanger to lead into book four. Very good addition to the growing saga!
