In the very near future a seastead offers consumers a choice in governing systems. Adam Tenney’s daughter takes that offer, but what can he do for her when pirates threaten the seastead, the U.S. refuses to recognize it, and he is trapped in a desk job on land?
A tense situation aboard a near-future seastead, a colony on the ocean's surface. I'd like to see more seasteading fiction. Like other examples, it dwells on the tough political position of people trying to start a new country with a pro-freedom bent in a world that doesn't like either part of that.
A lot of food for thought, in a good way. More like an extended opening chapter than a stand alone. That said, it made for an entertaining read that left me hoping for me. So, job done.
