Virgil Harris has a secret. And a problem. He was happily retired in a small Texas town until his mother’s near fatal beating during a home invasion. Encouraged by his success when the men are captured and convicted, Virgil turns his brand of cosmic retribution onto other unsavory folks in his little town who have escaped legal punishment. All goes well until Virgil's handiwork becomes coffee shop talk and arouses the interest of a secret organization of conspiracy watchdogs. Virgil and others like him become the group’s primary target, thanks to the organization’s leader, who has a secret of his own.

About the author

Janet Christian grew up in San Antonio and has been writing fiction since childhood, winning several awards for her imaginative short stories. Some of her work was featured in published anthologies, including the annual Half Price Books award-winning "Say Goodnight to Illiteracy". Janet spent a long and industrious career as a professional technical writer. She also edited and published two magazines and served as 2003 President of the Heart of Texas Sisters in Crime in Austin. She published her first novel in 2012.

Now retired and writing full time, Janet lives a ranch near Lockhart, Texas, thirty miles south of Austin. Janet and husband Eric have four goofy dogs, an ever-changing population of cats, and a small herd of spotted-wool Jacob sheep. When she isn't writing, Janet creates pottery art pieces in her combination pottery studio and tiki bar.
