The Last Dysfunctionist: The Space Between Atoms Book 2

Rate this book
The year is 2425 and the arrival of The Affinity has changed the balance of power on Earth. The benevolent creators – whose sole intention is to bring peace to warring Christian and Muslims – have encountered a deeper more sinister adversary than even they the non-atomic entity called The Exile. This being and its figurehead, Irkalla, have manipulated humankind throughout time.

During the battle in St Peter’s Square with the Scolopendra (a malevolent creature created by The Exile), The Affinity’s envoy Vaughan was lost, leaving Maria as their only champion. Liliana, the Hidden AI, saved countless humans from the Scolopendra, as well as an epigenetically-enhanced two hundred-year-old Cole, the last dysfunctionist.

But in the event’s aftermath the traitor-priest Meniux kidnapped Cole’s son, Malachi.

Now the planet is in turmoil in Christian and Muslim lands alike – the rise of Irkalla-driven occult armies plague both realms. From Vatican City to New Mecca and within the Darkland, Cole searches for Malachi. Aided by the Hidden AI, Cole and his allies continue on their individual journeys, which prove inexorably linked both to each other and to the fate of humanity.

Directly following events in The Marconi Paradigm, The Last Dysfunctionist is a fast-paced, multi-layered, character-driven story that delves into our ideas of consciousness and, ultimately, the thin line between good and evil.

What's not to like about a post apocalyptic warzone, with forces on all sides vying for your very soul? Great follow up to The Marconi Paradigm
