Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
Definitely wanted more with this one. There should have been some interaction with other family members that missed someone that disappeared twenty years prior.... or something.
There was a considerable amount of action, and danger in this addition to, The Exiled, series. I liked both Morgan and Renato, although, I was kind of hoping that Morgan would reunite with, Jaycee, since they were cousins and Morgan was presumed dead. I did enjoy the little twist of what Morgan shifted into, which is a unique situation for the Bracverse. I also liked Morgan's feisty little friend, Kyle. He was too cute. The execution of the story was well done, and I remained totally engaged throughout the plot. I'm so glad that I have the next one. These winged beasts are fascinating.
It took 4 years for this story to be released and then it's only 111 pages. That's way too short!!!. No real explanation why Morgan was drawn to the mountain, why he was able to find the door, what really happened to him after being bitten. No interaction with Jaycee and other family members. No explanation why Morgan's blood strengthens and heals Renato. Thats really dissapointing.
If I remeber correctly then there were two of Jacee's family members being bitten. Morgan and Donovan. Will the latter just be ignored or will there be a story about him? If not, there should be at least a short explanation in the upcoming books as why he was bitten. Otherwise why mentioning him at all...
This book happened way to fast. It was two days, literally. I've read shorter books that had more going on. I've waited a long time for Renato's book and I'm highly disappointed that THIS is what I've waited for.
I think this is the best one in the series so far. Renato was such a tortured individual so I was glad that he got his HEA. I will say that I didn't like Nazaryth at all in this book.
¡Aaaaghh!
One of the reasons I had for putting this off is because I didn't want to get enmeshed into it only to have to wait YEARS to see any follow up.. That and I just hadn't been ready to read this.
Well, don't have to wait years or months....yet... until I get done with #5 and then..... probably back to waiting again..
This turned out better than I thought. Reading the blurb I was wondering how Morgan can help anyone take over hell but after reading ya get it. What I didn't like was the lack of detail behind Morgan's birth. It was more or less glossed over. Plus why and how he lost his memory isn't covered as he clearly remembers what happens immediately AFTER the bite once he recovers his memory.
Final note.... While I'm kind of doubting Kyle will find a place with the beasts I am hoping he will get his mate... not mates I hope just one.
Ever since the day Morgan woke alone in a strange room, with no memory of how he got there or what happened to him. He has been hearing a voice in his head. Morgan thinks he is going mad and the only way to drown out the voice is to get rip roaring drunk.
Renato is dead inside. His one and only chance of having his zaterio has been lost. Taken from him by those his hunts. Now he hunts for vengeance for his long lost mate. Until one day he sees 4 hounds enter a building.
This series has been sitting on my reader for a while. I'd forgotten all about them and how much i loved the winged beasts. But i have to say this felt lacking. Everything happened so fast. Kyle was so protective of Morgan but as soon as Renato turns up he is kicked to the curb and forgotten about for the rest of the book.
Lynn's never worried about timelines before. This story could have been just as easily written as though it was only a few months later. 20 years later was of no use to the story.
When I had read the winged beast misfortune i admit I felt his lost. To see him get his story told was true satisfaction. Morgan is relatable and I'm curious if sweet Kyle will have a story...it would be nice. Happy looks good on these two main characters.
