Wynn Martin had an opportunity to move to Austin and fulfill her dreams as a musician. Although it meant she'd have to drop out of school and leave her friends and family behind, she felt like it was the right decision. She also trusted that her new boyfriend would help make it a smooth transition.
But sometimes change comes hard and swift and leaves you feeling blindsided. Wynn was about to discover this reality.
It was in the midst of this storm that she realized she needed to deal with her biggest regret. If she could only set things straight with Ryan Collins, everything might return to normal.

I loved the characters and the general plot. I was not happy with the fact that she lived with Marcus, but I know that was something she regretted, so that made it okay. I really liked the songs!
I love this author and have read everything she has on KU and several that arent on KU too. I love the way she makes close relationships (both marriage and multigenerational family) so beautiful and attractive! My only complaint is that as a Christian author she doesn't take a strong stand on sexual purity before marriage. It comes through in multiple books but this one is probably the strongest. There is NOTHING that promotes premarital sex, but it is talked about like it's common and expected and to wait is just an option. God's Word is pretty strong on it being sin and not just a so-so choice. This section below from this book illustrates probably the strongest example of what I'm referring to.
"[Mom]I never did like you living together without doing *the other*. [Main character] I knew by *the other* my mother meant getting married. My parents were old-fashioned and had several times voiced their disapproval for my decision to move in with Marcus without getting married. In light of everything I had just gone through, I felt like maybe they were right. I didn't tell my mom as much I basically just ignored her statement..." I don't have a problem with stories covering people who were promiscuous in Prior relationships but I would prefer that actually shows repentance and recognizing that they made a mistake before God and not just calls it old-fashioned and acts like they now see the wisdom and beauty in waiting. Again... I love this author and her series. Really this is the only thing I was was stronger and more Biblically based.
I didn't think I was going to like this book. I love the Martin family but I figured I wouldn't want to read about the younger siblings/cousins, maybe because of my age? I don't know. But I did enjoy this book! I couldn't really relate as much with Wynn but it was still a very good, clean story of two people given another chance to love each other. I love how things come together and work out so well in this series. It might not be the closest thing to reality, but sometimes we need to escape reality a bit and I feel like this book was perfect for that. I also feel like some of the other members of the Martin family seem so perfect and Wynn, in her world and her opinion, was flawed, but she owned her mistakes and kept going, trying to be the best person she could be. I love that.
Forgiveness and Grace are the number one thing I got out of this book. I enjoyed reading how this couple handled their lives. We all go off the beaten track at times. Getting back with the Lord is always the greatest thing. I loved the way the author portrays this.
Sometimes God allows bad things to happen so we can grow. I felt that was the theme of this book and I loved it. Wynn and Ryan both had things they needed to learn before they could truly appreciate each other. They are both wonderful people and their story is a little crazy, but beautiful at the same time.
I really disliked Wynn and her horrible choices at the beginning of this book. However, I loved her humility and faith once she started making better choices. It was a good lesson in forgiveness and second chances.
Forgiveness is a thing, and Wynn Martin needs it from the one person she knows she hurt badly. Some beautiful moments of redemption and hope. Clean romance. Neat to see family members from previous books.
This was a good book, I liked the others better, but it was still good. I am really enjoying the family dynamics. I didn't feel as connected to the characters in this book, but I love their family.
It's a quick read I didn't love it because she doesn't have a backbone and was a little bit obsessed with Ryan. Like first she didn't want him and then she can't live without him and apparently he's the one. Everything happened too fast, but is still a ok book. I don't think I'm going to be reading the rest of the series.
St. James handles edgy topics like a samurai, with clarity, discretion, class, and subtly. I read each story the day it comes out, and spend a solid month checking for the next book. Whether she is writing about baseball players, missionaries, movie stars, company executives, or humble college drop outs who make poor decisions Brooke St. James will make you laugh, cry and think about your own life, the relationships around you, and what God/god you serve.
My One Regret (Martin Family 3) - PG13 Violence: none Language: nothing offensive Sex: descriptive kissing; regretful talk of life choices, but no detail
Awesome continuation of the Martin Family saga. I crack myself up about my former protests about reading books in a series when I now find I cannot get enough of these!
2* I’m glad these two got their HEA, but Wynn broke his heart first. That makes me sad. 😢 Wynn is kind of a mess and not the most appealing heroine. They don’t come together until very late in the book.
