“He is a good man and the world deserves to know the real Logan Lassiter. Now, if only he’d let me show them.”
Allie Mooreland is that girl everyone loves to talk to. And if you’re talking football, she loves talking to you. Logan Lassiter is the hot shot wide receiver for the San Antonio Rattlers. He’s a man of few words on the field, and even fewer words off. He’s a simple man who doesn’t want anyone knowing his personal business. Especially reporters. So when Allie is tasked with spending three weeks with him during the off season so she can write the first exclusive article on the record-breaking hero, she realizes her work is cut out for her. Allie’s Make America fall in love with Logan Lassiter. But when she travels to small town, Texas, and starts getting to know Mr. Lassiter, she finds that her job shouldn’t really be that difficult. Logan’s sense of familial duty and his generous heart are easy to fall in love with. Unless you’re under professional obligation not to. Even after Logan professes his feelings for Allie, she has a decision to let go of the one thing she’s always found her identity in, or step off the sidelines and let her heart be loved.
**This book is the first in the Wounded Hearts Series. It can be read as a standalone.**
Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm a real person. I make mistakes, use words I probably shouldn't, have horrible grammar, eat and drink things that are totally unhealthy for me, and still call Jesus my Savior. (Psst! I want my characters to be like that too). I love long walks on the beach (seriously) and would much rather be at home under a cozy blanket reading than be in a room full of people. Well, at least most of the time.
I've been happily married to the absolute coolest man alive since 2007. He makes me laugh every single day, and encourages me in everything I do (even when I cook vegetarian inspired meals). We have a bright and sunshine-y little lady who is nothing short of proof that God still works miracles. She's the light of my life and the source of all my workouts (have you tried chasing a toddler around lately?? One word: Cardio!!!)
I love Jesus and I love to hear feedback from my readers. I have three main goals when I write: first, that people know that Christians are everyday people, making everyday choices and have problems with succeeding in life, just like anyone else. Second, that their story will resonate with you in some way and bring hope to some place of darkness. Lastly, that you will come to realize that God will meet everyone exactly where they are, even if they're broken, hurting, or lost. Because we've all been there...even Jesus.
A fantastic book! One I had a hard time putting down and the reason I barely got any sleep last night because Logan & Allie's story kept making me say "one more chapter!" I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who loves sports romances, heart warming stories and two amazing characters who keep you coming back for more!
It's a sweet book. More on the innocent side, as there only a few kissing scenes. I like the relationship and the attraction between the main characters. The only downside for med was all the talk about God and Jesus. I don't feel that it did anything to the story. Some people like it, I didn't. Won't be a reread for me.
Allie and Logan. Two complete opposites and yet together the sparks definitely fly! Allie is a reporter who is assigned to a famous football player, Logan, in order to make him appear more human and approachable to his fans. She goes to stay in his town to see him at home and get to know the man behind the football better. My enjoyment of this story was only enhanced by the inclusion of Logan's family - his sisters, brother and parents. In his parents Allie finally sees how close and loving a family can be. We are slowly shown why Allie is so guarded with her emotions and why Logan is the man he has become. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants a fascinating, uplifting dramatic read with a cracking romance at its heart. And who doesn't?!
DNF 68% Somehow I just after I reached the half of this book, I felt I had enough of the cheesiness and the whining of Allie. Not a bad book, maybe I´ll finish it later ...
