No one charters the depths of passion on the high seas like New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair
In the darkest storm
Nick, Logan, and Zane Cutter are a tightknit, unstoppable force in the family treasure-hunting business. Now that half-brother Jonah has arrived at the scene, he's got a lot to prove—and a powerful enemy who wants to stop him dead in his tracks.
Love will find a way
A perilous sea journey. A bitter nemesis. A woman whose spectacular beauty and talents are to die for…Over and over, Jonah will be tested. Is he worthy of carrying the Cutter name? With his eyes on the prize, Jonah will fight with all his heart. But desire often comes with a price. . .
Always an adventurer in life as well as writing, New York Times best-selling author Cherry Adair moved halfway across the globe from Cape Town, South Africa to the United States in her early years to become a interior designer. Now a resident of the Pacific Northwest she shares the award- winning adventures of her fictional T-FLAC counter terrorism operatives with her readers.
Cherry settled in beautiful San Francisco, where she started what eventually became a thriving interior design business. "I loved being a designer because it was varied and creative, and I enjoyed working with the public." A voracious reader when she was able to carve out the time, Cherry found her brain crowded with characters and stories of her own. "Eventually," she says, "the stories demanded to be told."
When asked why she chooses to write romantic action adventure, she says, "Who says you can’t have adventure and a great love life? Of course if you’re talking about an adventurous love life, that’s another thing altogether. I write romantic suspense coupled heart-pounding adventure because I like to entertain, and nothing keeps readers happier than a rollercoaster read, followed by a happy ending."
Popular on the workshop circuit, Cherry gives lively classes on writing and the writing life. Pulling no punches when asked how to become a published writer, Cherry insists, "Sit your butt in the chair and write. There's no magic to it. Writing is hard work. It isn't for sissies or whiners."
Cherry loves to spend time at home. A corner desk keeps her focused on writing, but the windows behind her, with a panoramic view of the front gardens, are always calling her to come outside and play. Her office has nine-foot ceilings, a fireplace, a television and built-in bookcases that will house approximately 3,500 paperback books.
"What can I say? My keeper shelf has been breeding in the middle of the night, rather like drycleaners' wire clothes hangers.”
Cherry Adair was actually one of the first authors that I started to read when I got into the bookworld so I'll always read anything she writes. My memory isn't the best when it comes to these books though, so reading Stormchaser felt like I was reading a brand new author since I haven't picked up one of her books in awhile. It's the fourth book in the Cutter Bay series but would be fine if you were to read it as a standalone.
This story follows Jonah as he gets into the treasure hunting business and partners up with Calista West, a marine archaeologist. It will take you on some spectacular twists and turns, and of course throws a romance into the mix that will keep you captivated. I really enjoyed getting to learn about these characters and I thought the treasure hunting world was a really intriguing one. Ms. Adair didn't skimp on the details of their hunt and I was appreciative of that. Those details really had my attention and I liked learning all about this undersea world.
My rating was bumped down to a 3.5 because of the ending. As much as I was really enjoying this story the end kind of lost it for me since it seemed so rushed. I wouldn't have minded too much if the rest of the book wasn't so slow, but as it was it just didn't match the pace of the rest of the book.
Overall I would definitely recommend this story for anyone that likes a tame romantic suspense. I can't wait for the next book and to see if this author can redeem a character for me.

Stormchaser by Cherry Adair is a 2017 St. Martin's Press publication.
Cherry Adair is very good at creating unique storylines and never seems to fall into a rut. Some of her plots are masterfully woven and some rely more on action, which was the case here, but there is a level of suspense that builds along the way, which kept me captivated, wondering just how everything would work out in the end.
Overall, this one is a little different from what I normally expect from my romantic suspense novels. But once it gets going it is a very fast paced, super steamy, read, that kept me very entertained.
Jonah has the chance of a lifetime, uncovering the treasure all hunters dream of. The only problem, he can’t the cool, reserved doctor off his mind and every chance he gets he finds himself making reasons to spend time with her.
Smoldering sexual tension and a vividly told adventure, Stormchaser brings the reader through a gambit of nail biting circumstances.
I did find the ending a little rushed but I highly enjoyed Stormchaser and adored the premise. I recommend you dive right into Jonah’s and Calista’s story.
I received this ARC copy of Stormchaser from St. Martin's Press. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I had such high hopes for this one...*sigh*. But sadly, it was only a lukewarm read for me. Most of the problem was because it's been years waiting for this one...I sort of lost track of the whole storyline of this series. Gradually things started coming back to me, but it never captured the excitement that I had for the first story in the series (Undertow)--which was 6 long years ago.
Another problem I had was ---I didn't fully believe the love between the hero (recently discovered Cutter brother Jonah) and heroine (marine archaeologist Dr. Calista West)--it felt more like a serious caes of lust to me. Yes, they were attracted to each other, had some hot times in the sack, but she had a secret agenda and when that secret and her betrayal was finally revealed, I can't believe how easily Jonah seemed to forgive her. It just didn't ring true to me.
I was ok with the premise: Jonah thinks he has found the Lost City of Atlantis beneath the wreckage of a ship he is salvaging in the Mediterranean and Dr. West was going to prove/disprove his find...but they spent sooo much time talking about it that I sort of lost interest. There was a bit of suspense near the end that I could imagine being in a movie...but, meh, I just wasn't feeling the whole book. I also thought it ended rather abruptly.
This series started out with so much promise--I thought it was original and exciting but each book seems less exciting than the previous.
I haven't totally given up yet. Hurricane is up next, and we finally meet up with the Cutter's chief rival, Rydell Case. Hopefully Ms. Adair gets back on track with that one.
I think this might be one of those times where not reading previous books in the series may have hurt the chances for me to connect completely to the story. We start out with Callie taking a job with Jonah Cutter to help him salvage and document his discovery. He believes he has found the lost Atlantis and Callie is an expert in her field.
We learn real quick that she only took the job to sabotage it for the Cutters nemesis, Ryder, Callie's brother-in-law. I'm assuming it's revealed in previous books why these men don't get along, but you don't learn it in this book until the second half. What little you do learn, doesn't justify her deceit, in my eyes. I had a really hard time liking Callie because of this.
I loved Jonahs character. He fell hard and fast for Callie which made me fall for him. In turn, that made it even harder to like her for betraying him. Unfortunately, this made the first half of the book a bit of a struggle for me. The thing that saved the story for me is that I'm apparently easily won over. Once Callie gave into her attraction to Jonah, I started rooting for them and could enjoy the 2nd half of the book.
I would really like to know more about what Rydell thinks the Cutter men did to him to deserve his revenge. It didn't touch anymore on the subject but Rydell's story is next in the series. ARC provided by NetGalley.
This one was just a "meh" read for me. The story is very disjointed in my opinion and I could never develop the warm and fuzzies for these characters. The sexy times are well done but I never feel that chemistry between the two MC. Add to that all the craziness and mystical happenings in the story and it just doesn't feel real. The premise of the story, the exciting discovery of what could be Atlantis, set up everything for an exciting story, I wish it had all come together.

Starting out the book with two people who are struck by Instalust and the only thoughts they think about for the first 20% of the book are sexual is a real turn off. Then a fairly good story develops and some very interesting situations present themselves, with a touch of woo-woo.
The Cutter family is legendary in treasure hunting circles. From the father, Daniel, who started the business to his sons, Nick, Logan, and Zane, who only added wealth and legend to the name. Now, Jonah Cutter, a sexy half-brother, is out to add to that legend and literally make history. Jonah has discovered a 12th century Chinese Junk that was carrying treasure that just happened to sink on top of a lost city. One major complication is his marine archeologist. In addition to not being a team player she totally dismisses his theories about the lost city. He also has a major problem with the way his body isn't listening to what his mind is telling it about Callie West.
Dr. Calista West is a marine archeologist who has a deep dislike of the Cutter family and has plans to undermine this exploration any way she possibly can. She is undercover for her brother-in-law, Rydell Case, a nemesis of anyone named Cutter, but what she didn't plan on was her explosive and visceral reaction to Jonah. She hates the Cutter family, but all she wants is to jump Jonah's bones. Dr. West's area of expertise is ancient cities and the granddaddy of them all is Atlantis. That Jonah thinks his lost city is Atlantis has Callie, as an expert on Atlantis, intrigued even though she firmly believes it doesn't exist. Jonah is out to prove her wrong.
It would have been nice if there had been a Novella, or at lest a Prologue, detailing how Jonah came to be accepted by the family. Since it has been years since the last book, all I remember is that Jonah captained for Nick and told him they were half-brothers.
If you are a fan of the Indiana Jones type of adventure, then this book and this series is definitely one you don't want to miss! STORMCHASER is exciting and entertaining, and will definitely fire up your blood for some adventure.
The Cutter name is synonymous with treasure hunting and Jonah Cutter thinks he has found just the thing to make own name, separate from the rest of his family. For him to achieve this goal, he needs the expertise of just one person: Dr. Calista West.
Callie has her own reasons for accepting the offer from Jonah, but her close contact with him reveals a very different person from what she expected. A sizzling attraction to him, coupled with the potentially explosive and life-changing nature of their discovery means that her original goal falls to the wayside. But can she go through with her assignment after getting to know Jonah so well? Can she convince Jonah to trust her when the truth comes to light?
The time between the previous installment of this series and this book is pretty significant and I wish there had been some kind of write-up to bridge that gap and connect this book with the previous ones, but it stands alone very well on its own that it may not be an issue, except for dedicated followers of the series.
Callie and Jonah's attraction is instant but the secrets, lies and deceptions are so many that they form an effective barrier between them. Can you say drama overload? I had my reservations about their relationship, but the one part of the story that completely drew me in was the underwater discovery. The intrigue, the danger, the factually inexplicable occurrences were all very captivating and added to drama of a different kind.
The ending was a little rushed for me and Jonah's easy acceptance of Callie's lies felt a little far-fetched, but overall it was a really enjoyable read and I'm very excited about the next book.

This is quite the underwater rollercoaster of a story full of bad guys, natural disasters, and emotional upheaval. Jonah is sexy and hot…no surprise there, but it took me a while to like Callie. Her initial bitchiness made me wonder about his intelligence in pursuing her. Of course, it led to some sizzling sex as well as her change of attitude. All in all, a fast and exciting read that makes me anxious to read the next one.

The long wait is finally over. Ms. Adair returns to the paranormal world of Cutter Cay. This book can be read as a standalone. Stormchaser focuses on the half-brother, Jonah who wants to be just as an amazing treasure hunter as his three brothers. When he finds a sunken Chinese ship off not far from the Greek Isle, is believes he's struck gold. Because what is under the ship is what really makes all the difference in the world. Trying to keep his find secret, he needs a leading archeologist who won't believe his find to try and disprove it. This marine archeologist is none other than Calista. Calista is more than meets the eye. Her private ties are in direct conflict with Jonah and she's determine to support he man who helped her. To do this, she will gleefully steal Jonah's find out from under him.
The premise of this book is filled with conflict. There is betrayal after betrayal as well as messy emotions. I probably could have done without those pieces as it's a bit drama laden for me. What really pulled me to this book is the underwater city Jonah finds. I love how Ms. Adair creates a possible scenario for this city as well as how it came to be and what is protecting it. The paranormal parts as well as the mystery of strange occurrences kept me riveted. I'm just as intrigued as Calista.
From a character perspective, I liked both Jonah and Calista. Their conflict is understandable. Their sexual tension and romantic interest didn't really do much for me. It fell a bit flat. The only time it was a bit interesting was when another woman tried to flirt and play with Jonah. The lustful female's seduction was so terrible it was hilarious. As a sexual romance, this story contains several steamy sex scenes. These are catered to the romance reading crowd who enjoy sexy men getting it on with bookish yet beautiful women. The sex is straight up vanilla and sweet.
The ending felt rushed and I wished there was more to it. I hoped that there would be more about the secret society as well as the underwater city. Alas, we are left with a cliffhanger on that subplot. For the main romance plot, it is a nice happily ever after as expected from Ms. Adair. This book is recommended to paranormal romance lovers who have a thing for lost cities and alpha males.
This is about the half brother Jonah to the other 3 Cutter brothers from the previous books. I read those years ago and I have to admit they weren't that memorable. Callie is the sister-in-law of the Cutters' arch-nemesis Rydell Case and hired on in order to sabotage Jonah's salvage operations. Seems very unbelievable that Jonah has so little background knowledge of Callie before hiring her on in this day and age.
A pretty meh read overall.... it only got interesting about 85% in, and it's telling that the most interesting aspect of the book is the "treasure" Jonah discovered. Having said that, the next book is about Rydell, who first appeared as a competitor in Vortex. I will still read that just so that I'll complete the series.
FINAL DECISION: A story with lots of lies and deceit on the heroine's part, the connection between the characters really works. My complaint about the book is that her lies are forgiven way too soon.
THE STORY: Jonah Cutter is the illegitimate brother of the Cutter clan. He has a lot to prove to himself and to make himself feel that he belongs in the family. He believes he has found Atlantis and brings the skeptic Dr. Calista West aboard to prove it. Calista has agreed to come onto the project for only one reason -- she is working with the Cutter's enemy and intends to thwart Jonah's project. But that was before she met Jonah and begins to have her loyalties challenged.
OPINION: This book was a fun read as it twisted in ways that I did not expect when it began.
Calista is a woman who intends to help her only family with his revenge against his enemies, the Cutters. She will help him sweep in and steal Jonah's find. She is a widow, but pretends to be married in order to keep herself safe from any advances by Jonah. But she doesn't expect to find a man who she can admire and a project that might actually be the find of the century. Nor does she expect to begin to fall in love with the one man she should keep away from.
Jonah can't keep his eyes off Calista, but he has no intent of making any moves on a married woman. His own family history protects him from the moral hazard -- or so he believes. Even as he knows that Calista is off-limits, he cannot stop thinking about her.
I enjoyed this book which has a twisty and unexpected plot. What Jonah has discovered and the crew's attempts to uncover its secrets keeps moving the story forward. I liked the chemistry between these characters and I especially liked Jonah who was a nicer guy than I expected in the beginning.
And that leads to my complaint about the book. Calista lies to Jonah throughout the book but when her lies are uncovered, there are no real consequences for her. She is forgiven after only a short time and after no groveling on her part. Although a huge part of the plot of the book, there is no confrontation with the enemy and no serious consequences for Calista. I just think there needed to be more considering the magnitude of the deception.
WORTH MENTIONING: This book really made me want to read the next book in the series which will be about the Cutter family's enemy.
CONNECTED BOOKS: STORMCHASER is the fourth book in the Cutter Cay series. It not not necessary to read the other books first, however, because I haven't and I didn't feel that I missed anything.
Standalone book but perhaps having read the previous three would have given more background on the Cutter brothers as well as why Rydell, the heroine’s brother-in-law, is a player in this story.
This is Jonah and Callie’s story. Jonah Cutter is into archaeological underwater treasure/salvage hunting and believes he has found the motherlode of all finds under the seas near Greece. He has hired Dr. Calista “Callie” West to authenticate as well as dive and do other academic things on the hunt. Callie is there under pretense with subterfuge and bad intentions predominant in her mind. Little did Callie realize that she would be ensnared by pheromones AND the lure of a potentially huge find that could make her name in academic circles. Add into the brewing forbidden lust between Jonah and Callie a couple groups of nefarious rather ruthless and questionable characters, some disturbing paranormal stuff and a lot of scientific jargon and you have a larger than life story that kept me entertained today. It is not my first choice of book to read but it was enjoyable all in all.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. This is my honest review.
Blurb: No one charters the depths of passion on the high seas like New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair! DESIRE RUNS DEEP...Somewhere off the coast of Greece, a king’s ransom in gold, emeralds, and silver coins lies waiting at the bottom of the sea. Finding this ancient treasure would be a dream come true for marine archeologist Calista West. But that’s not why she’s here. She didn’t climb aboard Jonah Cutter’s magnificent yacht seeking fortune or fame. She’s come for revenge—against the sexiest, most seductive, modern-day pirate she’s ever encountered…Like his famous half brothers, Jonah is a master of salvaging ships—and driving women mad with his movie-star looks and raw animal magnetism. Tall, dark, and devastating, he manages to make Callie forget her mission. Every moment they share under the hot Mediterranean sun is an erotically-charged adventure neither can resist. But when Callie discovers what he’s really after—the lost city of Atlantis—is it too late to change the course of her heart…or go all in with the lover of her dreams?
Thoughts: This was my first book in this series, however I have read other books from Cherry Adair before - many of which are treasured favorites of mine that still go back and re-read on occasion. Stormchaser caught my attention and I decided to give this book a shot - after all it had such an intriguing storyline. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the standards of some her previous books for me, and just seemed to fall a little flat. There also seemed to be just a lack of intensity between the characters. I really wanted to fall in love with this book - and this series - but it just did not hit the mark for me.
Well written romance/adventure. I didn't bond with the characters or story as much as I have with this authors other books, sadly, and found it easy to put down. Lots of action, treasure hunting, diving and the possible discovery of Atlantis.
Stormchaser is book four of Cherry Adair’s Cutter Cay series. This is a wonderful five book series. I’ve started with Stormchaser and loved every second of it. It can definitely stand alone. This is an adventure/romance series with all the trimmings and more. The plot is fast paced and well thought out. The characters are realistic and well developed. The romance sizzles and the intrigue and adventure never end. This is the story of Jonah Cutter and Dr. Calista West (Rydell). An imaginative story about finding the lost city of Atlantis! Yes, it is! As well as other treasure. Adair pulls off an intriguing plot and wraps it in and exciting package of true love. She does it with such zest for life and yet manages to remain true to the exciting premise of otherworldly science, not to mention good old-fashioned human greed. Jonah is one of the Cutter brothers (from another mother, but accepted by the brothers) and wants to prove himself to his successful brothers and show them how dedicated he and brilliant he is. Dr. Calista West (a.k.a. Callie) is/was married to Adam Case, brother of the Cutter rival, Rydell Case. She uses her professional name, not her married one. There’s a lot of bad business and blood between these families. She actually had ulterior motives for taking this job, besides being paid four time her usual rate. Rydell wants her to spy on Cutter and let him know what treasure he’s after. The attraction between the two main characters is immediate and very hot. Both fight the attraction with all they have. Callie uses her wedding ring (her husband died four years earlier due to illness) to keep single males at bay. Jonah, coming from a father that was unfaithful to both wives…doesn’t believe in poaching. The angst is sizzling as they fight the attraction. Callie is just as attracted to Jonah, but conflicted out of loyalty for Rydell. Ah, the tangled webs Adair weaves… I don’t do spoilers, so I’ll just say that the plot weaving these two together through attraction, adventure, danger and more is one whale of a ride. It’s more than entertaining, it’s enthralling. This story and series is a keeper! Copy provided for honest review.
My Review: Treasure and romance with a possibility of betrayal? Sounds great! And it really was very good. If we had half stars I'd give it four and a half. But I was able to put it down and go to bed at 56%, so it can't have five stars. I have long been a Cherry Adair fan and am really glad to see her releasing another book for this series with the fifth book set for next month.
The controlled Dr. Calista West didn't really seem to have a problem keeping her hands off the handsome salvage chief, Jonah Cutter. It was more that he wouldn't stop touching her that she had the problem with. His arm on her armrest, his knee next to hers, his hand on her wrist, holding her hand, at the small of her back, cupping her cheek. His lips on hers. Once touched, she didn't seem to be able to stop herself from touching back, though. Ms. Adair hasn't lost any of her talent for writing an engaging sex scene. She knows that fine line between hot and steamy and overdone and draws it expertly.
But what about Callie's mission? Her promise to betray Jonah and steal his big find out from under him? Who will be the real loser? Get this fourth book in the Cutter Cay series today, hot off the press and find out. Is it really Atlantis they've found? Where will the loyalties fall? I don't kiss and tell! You'll have to get your own copy of Stormchaser and read it. I highly recommend it!
I'm looking forward to Rydell Case's story next month, Hurricane Apr 4, 2017
I was provided an eARC by St. Martin's and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I am not being compensated in any way. All opinions are fully my own. ~ Judi E. Easley for Blue Cat Review
I have waited a long time for StormChaser to come out so to say I was excited to get an advance copy isn't even close. I quickly dove right into the book pun intended but soon something just didn't jive with me. From beginning to end this story was disjointed to the point a reader would all of a sudden question what happened and how did a week pass? Time seem to fast forward tan slow down and fast forward with no indication than 3 days later. Make the reader feel like they are missing part of the story. The flow was beyond choppy. As for the Mystery it was interesting but really nothing new or surprising. Reader will know right away what is going to happen at the end of the book with out much thinking.
Jonah and the Dr had a bad case of lust. Cherry Adair can write a sex scene, with fun, sassy and enjoyment. This book had all of those but zero connection between Jonah and the Dr. The Dr.s Lies seem to get covered up in the quick ending that will leave readers with a headache as they trying to figure out what happened in those last few pages. I had to reread several pages to understand half of what happened many times over.
The end of the story was choppy, lack a coherent ending and I had not idea who most of his crew were expect for the drunk because that character really had no reason to be there. He wasn't funny but more annoying.
I had reread the other three books in the series to make sure I was caught. This book didn't live up to the first free.
Thank you Netgalley, Publishing Company and the author for an Advance Copy I hope to be able to review another book by Cherry Adair in the future. I love the first three Cutter Books and look forward to Book #5
Finally the Cutter series continues! Wasn't sure this book was ever going to be released. While this book is part of the Cutter series, it can definitely be read on it's own. In fact, it's been so long since I read the last one that I really didn't remember the characters and I did fine. This book has everything that we have come to expect from Cherry Adair - steamy romance, plenty of suspense and a great storyline. Jonah Cutter has found the salvage site of a lifetime and now he just needs to have it verified by the newest member of the team. Too bad that team member has her own agenda that may or may not coincide with Jonah's!
Fans of the Cutter brothers will gobble up the tidbits about the main characters from previous entries in this series about modern-day pirates. Stormchaser has some noticeable gaps in terms of Callie's motivations for totally unethical behavior with the potential to tank her professional career, and with Jonah's initial lack of background info about her--as if the Internet doesn't exist and certain details wouldn't get revealed by a pre-employment investigation. None of that keeps Stormchaser from being a fun read because C.A.'s storytelling talent always shines. Bring on Hurricane.

Uhhhhhhhh.....I'm so confused by the ending of this book. I literally just finished it right before I started to write this. The heroine has infiltrated the hero's boat, to help her brother in law (she's now a widow) take down Cutter Salavage from the inside. He, of course, eventually finds out, and he's rightfully pissed, but then they're attacked and a volcano erupts and they have to run for their lives. By the time they get back to the ship safe and sound, he's over it. He tells her he loves her and it ends. WHAT? That's it?! There was no closure when it came to Callie and her brother in law/lovers rival. I was totally expecting a conversation where they'd discuss Rydell Case's behavior which had been talked about in previous books, and why he hates the Cutter brothers so much. But nope. Nothing. I knocked off a whole star because of this.
I was going to give it 4 stars, like I did for the previous installments, but I hate the cliffhanger. The only thing that prevented me from giving it even less stars was that there were a lot of dive scenes. I love how she writes a dive scene! There weren't enough of them in the previous 2 books, but there was a lot in this book. I liked the idea of them finding Atlantis, though it never really was fully proved.
As for the hero and heroine, I loved Jonah. He was a great hero. I wish the author had of had more inner commentary for Callie, having her acknowledge that he's a good, honest man and wasn't what Rydell had led her to believe. Callie herself was not my favorite heroine. I instantly disliked her from the moment I started reading. I hated how buttoned up she was and how unwilling to even be friendly to the other members of the team because it was "easier" not to get involved.
I get that you can lust after a person and not like them, but honestly I was surprised that he fell in love with her. She was just so......meh. Speaking of lust, there's A LOT of mental commentary about lust and what they want to do to each other. It was excessive and not needed so often. And once again, like in every other book in this series, they have tons of unsafe sex and no one seems to care. At least they talk about condoms this time but not until they've had unsafe sex a whole bunch of times. And the one time he does put on a condom, she gives him a hand job! He doesn't even need a condom for that!
Thank goodness the author wrote a book for the "evil" brother in law. Hopefully it will dispel the air between him and the Cutter's and I'll get some closure. And have a better ending.
Mystical and intense are the words that come to my mind after reading this book. The author Cherry Adair's vivid imagination and attention to detail makes this a wonderful and exciting read.
Callie's character is intense and how she orders her life from her traumatic childhood is a great example for all people. She is a fully dimensional character though somewhat lacking in her personal life. For this reason the addition of Jonah's character is perfect. He is larger than life and continually pushes up against her boundaries not allowing her to stay in her safe zone which forces her to grow personally.
Not having read the other books to this series I do have some questions regarding Rydell's back history in regards to the Cutter boys. I look forward to reading books 1-3 of the Cutter Cay Series to fill in the holes though it isn't necessary for reading this book.
I really liked all the intricate details of the dives as I know I will never scuba dive but from her writing I felt like I was there experiencing all the unique events.
Mysticism is an area that can either draw you in or turn you off but in this book I was fully immersed in the possibility that the lost city of Atlantis actually existed. The author did a phenomenal job in developing this part of the book.
I give this 4 stars from making the mysticism believable and the relationship between Callie's loyalty to Jonah and Rydell realistic.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
I found myself bored while reading this one and thought things were predictable. I liked Jonah, liked how enthused he was for the treasure and the others potential finds. What I didn't care for with him was his attraction to Calista, even knowing she was married. Sure he tried to fight it, but he still acted against what he claimed he would never do. Of course Calista was hiding so much, not the least of which was her husband had been dead for 4 years. That along with her secret connection to a Cutter enemy didn't make me like her. Calista acted so aloof, almost like she was better than the rest of them. So when she came clean about her husband and gave in to the attraction to Jonah I wasn't rooting for them, her last secret was bound to make things messy.
Besides this drama the drama with Fire Island was very predictable. Right away I knew what they were protecting, even why. Odd how things came to a head so fast at the end, to fast that when Calista's secret came out it was barley a blip as Jonah and her were fighting for their lives. In that aftermath everything else was glossed over and the story quickly ended with declarations of love, which annoyed me as they never did deal with things.
I'm hoping the next book is better.

I’ve been a Cherry Adair fan since Kiss and Tell seventeen years ago. She’s one of the OG romantic suspense authors who drew me into the genre and got me addicted to the breathtaking notion of falling in love while running for your life.
And warmer temperatures on the horizon mean Adair’s latest installment of the Cutter Cay series, Stormchaser, is hitting the shelves at the exact right time. Fans of Jacques Cousteau and his magical underwater world will love this story!
So many storylines are swirling around in this novel. Will they, or won’t they? Is this THE ancient city, or isn’t it? What is the mystical element surrounding the small Greek island? Can I finally let myself fall in love?
Stormchaser is full of adventure and excitement. It’s got just enough mystical elements to make you tilt your head and wonder at the possibility of an ancient secret, yet it’s planted firmly enough in reality that you can close your eyes and feel like you’re on a treasure hunting quest. I can’t wait for Hurricane next month!
I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend reading the other books in the series just so you know the backstory. But it's not completely necessary in order to read this book. This title can still be read as a standalone. Its about Jonah Cutter who is a half-brother to all the other Cutter brothers as you found out in the previous book. And Calista West who is a related to Ry Case-who was also mentioned in the last book. Be prepared as it starts off slowly, but once you get a little further in you won't be able to put it down! I really liked the chemistry between the two main characters along with the fact that Jonah fights any attraction until he finds out she is widow. I loved the fact that there was NO cheating!! The historical aspect was a great addition as was the slightly paranormal twist to it. My only drawback was it seemed to end rather abruptly. It didn't feel as though it was finished to me. They never really said what happened after the volcano erupted. There was no meeting with Ry or even just a showdown. It just seemed to end. I am really hoping that we find out in the next book! Can't wait to read it!
Dr. Calista West comes to the Mediterranean near Greece to work with Jonah Cutter. He comes from a family of treasure hunters. Callie is there to help him recover artifacts from a Chinese junk, but when he tells Callie that he's found the lost city of Atlantis, she's stunned. She's here under false pretenses. Callie is really there to betray him to his enemy. What happens next is a suspenseful story filled with unexpected twists. Jonah and Callie are an amazing couple. They have common interests and amazing chemistry. The lost city enthralls and amazes Jonah and Callie. As they learn more about their discovery, strange things happen. In spite of herself, Callie finds herself falling for Jonah. What will happen when he learns the truth? I couldn't put down Stormchaser. The lost city is a thrilling setting. It was so amazing that I wanted to know more. I loved the touch of magic that is interwoven in this exciting adventure. I loved the characters. Callie is an intelligent and strong woman. Jonah is a dominant alpha who's met his match in this feisty woman. The secondary characters add more drama to this story. Cherry Adair has written a great romantic suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm enjoying the Cutter Cay series. I can't wait for the next story. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read. My comments are my honest opinion.
Jonah's turn to impress his brothers... they've gifted him with the outstanding Stormchaser - he's located a Chinese ship... and then beneath the ship, he believes he has found Atlantis...
and he woos Calista - anthropologist who has thoroughly researched Atlantis and soundly concludes that it is all legend, no fact... expecting that if she agrees it is, her opinion will carry a lot of weight...
It doesn't make sense that with the Cutter resources, he didn't check out Calista more thoroughly, because she is sister-in-law to the Cutter's arch enemy - Ryland - whom there have been many court battles over... and she takes this job because Ry is family, and she sees the court battles as the Cutter's greed, so she is happy to spy on them, report to Ry, so Ry can usurp them...
but... she's excited about the discoveries... and Jonah isn't like she expected... and there is that darn attraction... so her calls to Ry start to get fewer... and the stop...
Throw in a bit of Guardians who protect the secrets of the advancements of Atlantis... and ultimately most of what they found (including the ship) is re-covered by the volcano erupting...
