Taking the second grade school-boy Zhuang Zhuang as the protagonist, The Firecracker Sound in Pocket tells the common and interesting stories about him. Zhuang Zhuang is naive, naughty, kind and lovely but he also has the disadvantages common to he plays tricks on the girl transferred from the town; he puts the firecracker in the pocket and destroys his clothes. Each story is very interesting.

Ho una fascinazione per il modo in cui si esprimono i cinesi nella loro narrativa. Non è una questione stilistica ma più un tratto culturale e comunicativo. Raccontano le cose con un che di crudo, viscerale, incredibilmente concreto e allo stesso tempo riescono comunque a trasmettere un forte senso di appartenenza a quella che è l'esperienza umana, nella maniera più quotidiana e disillusa possibile.

In questo romanzo la storia d'amore è tutt'altro che romantica, ma questo la rende ancor più concreta. È l'esperienza più comune che esista. Parla delle relazioni tra persone che, pur volendosi, non si trovano mai. Pur parlando, non si capiscono, o scelgono spontaneamente di non capire la verità.

Come ho detto, sono affascinata, ma la valutazione del libro è dovuta al fatto che queste storie mi lasciano spiazzata, arrivata alla fine del libro non avevo chiaro come sentirmi a riguardo

After reading "Hot and Cold, Measure for Measure", I feel like such love doesn't turn out how people hoped, expected or planned. Wu Di's love is hot like fire while Zhang Ming's love is cold and deep like ocean. It's hard for the fire and the ocean to be together not to mention Wu Di's love became destructive."

四篇小说，自然是《火焰》最佳，从心疼吴迪到只剩叹息；《永矢我爱》情节设计虽然俗套，但是通过文字表现出的痛苦远超故事本身；《无人喝彩》中四个人的晚餐以及《过把瘾就死》中的对话都让人回味无穷。文字的张力和情节的刺痛感恐怕可以激起每一个在爱情中沦陷过的人的共鸣。
