I've generally liked Ziegler's other plays, but this one just didn't work for me. It's far too 'poetical' for its own good (people just don't talk the way they do in this), and always seems to be dancing around issues without addressing any of them head-on. And, most egregiously, the play uses direct address to the audience about half the time, with the characters TELLING the audience the story rather than acting it out, which always annoys me.
2 M, 1 F - all in 30s, play about a woman with old and new lover, and the fact the old lover can’t let her go. Themes of love, perspective, time, commitment, instability, obsession, and connection.
Was very hesitant at first but upon my second read through, fell in love with the play. I hope I am able to direct it at some point because I am bursting with love for it.
