Jayda Thomasz is a sassy homicide detective who never lets her emotions get in the way of a case. So when a serial killer re-emerges after 25 years, the last thing she expects is to catch herself fantasising over the hot, smooth-talking stranger who crosses the path of her investigation.

Seth Friedin is a reporter chasing the story that'll make his career. When he enters the world of swinging for research, he never imagines he'll be distracted by a hard-talking female detective whose kiss plagues his mind long after she's gone.

Past experience has shown Jayda that reporters are ruthless and unscrupulous. But when the murders get personal, will she make a deal with the devil to catch the killer? How far will she and Seth have to go? And do you ever really know who you can trust?

Lethal in Love is a serial that is part suspense and part romance.

I found the combination to be both fast paced and riveting right to the very end.

This story is about a police officer and a reporter both wanting to find out who the serial killer is and along the way they find attraction for one another.

Both have their own issues to deal with whilst they are doing their own investigating.

The romance never detracted from the main whodunit and I found it only enhanced the characters story.

I enjoyed that it was based in Australia and the dialogue reflects this.

I loved the twists and turns in the story and always enjoy being surprised when reading a suspense novel.

I read this initially in instalments but it is fantastic it comes as the one book all in one so no excuse to stop reading.

Look forward to reading more by Michelle Somers.

Lethal in Love is a wonderful romantic suspense that had me guessing all the way through who the murderer was, and as the story progressed, you wondered how on earth they were ever going to catch the serial killer. The writing is fast paced and compelling, and the characters are all well fleshed out and relatable. This is the first book I've read of author Michelle Sommers and it certainly won't be the last!

Lethal in Love is an unusual story. It’s a twist of two genres, a full bodied love story and a suspenseful psychological thriller. Normally a thriller might have a secondary romantic plot, or a romance book might have an element of suspense or crime-not so with this clever novel!

Jayda is the the female lead, a detective trying to track down a serial killer. Seth is a handsome reporter chasing a scoop which he hopes will lead to promotion. There are a number of well drawn secondary characters, but it is Jayda and Seth who really come to life.

I love the early descriptions of Seth in particular, for example we learn–amongst many other things–that he has fathomless eyes and the scent of a forest meadow.

Both Jayda and Seth are running from disappointments and betrayals that have shaped how they react to people and situations. The development of their partnership, and their personal growth as they realise they don't always need to shut people out, is the cornerstone of the story. The serial killer and the police efforts to find him provide an edge and urgency that drive the story along.

Michelle Somers writes very well. Her dialogue is realistic and the settings are sketched with just enough detail to support the story. It's a long book, but it's fast paced and well structured. I really enjoyed it and I stayed up well past my bedtime several nights in a row to find out who the serial killer is… and of course to find out what happens with Jayda and Seth.

I suspect some readers of the thriller genre could be a little annoyed with the love story cleverly entwined through the action, but I’m also sure romance readers will very much enjoy both aspects of this novel.

Let me start by saying I loved this so much that I stayed up all night. (I got 2 hours sleep!) I just had to find out who the killer was.
I thought I knew...I really did. But...I was wrong.
This book is funny in bits, sexy (ALOT!) mysterious and very very addictive.
Being set in Melbourne just gave it that extra something.

You NEED to read this fantastic novel. You will not regret it.
I already bought Michelle's other book Murder most unusual. Which I will start as soon as I get some sleep!

Lethal in Love is a highly addictive serial crime thriller with romantic suspense elements. The story itself is told through six installments, or episodes, that were originally released roughly every fortnight in a similar vein to many well known classics (like Dickens whose work was released in serial format).

The story is captivating, and full of twists and turns that is sure to keep you glued to your seat and turning the pages as quickly as you can manage. In-between each installment I would find myself wondering about each cliff-hanger and what was happening to our characters. Were they safe? Had they realised their feelings for one another? Was the killer getting closer? Were they getting closer to catching the killer? Even now almost six years later this is a novel that I find myself thinking about every now and then. I'm thinking a re-read of the entire novel in one sitting is in high demand in the not so distant future.

Michelle Somers has produced a corker of a thriller! It was edgy, gripping and super, super sexy.

Lethal in Love had my heart racing and my stomach in knots until the killer was revealed.
A smashing romantic, suspense thriller that was fast-paced and gutsy. I absolutely enjoyed the dialogue between Jayda and Seth, it was clever and witty and their romance was fabulously hot.
A brilliant read!

I was intrigued in this complete story from beginning to the end. Heart stopping moments, murder mystery, and a story line that has your mind racing. You also get romance in the mix. A love story you get a little frustrated with, but then grow to love. You really have no clue who the serial killer is until the person is revealed. I loved this story. I whole heartily recommend this book.

Great read, I read this in two sittings, it would have been one, but at 3am my eyes were hanging out of my head. The story had me hooked from the start, with many twists and turns kept the suspense throughout the story.
