Meridian is a small town in western Connecticut, quiet, unassuming. Until a warm June night when police are summoned to the old decrepit Baxter house. Three boys are there on a dare and now one of them is dead. His pasty-white face is frozen with shock. Police are he looks like he was frightened to death!

Days later, another victim is found, his condition very similar to the first victim. But neither of the bodies was mutilated by they did it to themselves!

Katy Rasbach is a pretty, inquisitive teenager mysteriously drawn to the Baxter house and its history. When police find out there may be a suspect connected to the deaths, Katy wonders who the person might be—and whether she has any connection to him! Meanwhile, a mysterious man is stalking Katy, waiting for his moment to have her.
