I was very excited to obtain a copy of Strange Authors. This book of new-to-me authors was filled with delightfully dark short stories.
Skits' story was full of poweful fight and plenty of bloodshed. It was a great start to the anthology.
White Light of Evil entertained me with a tale of witches and vampires. Chapter 6 had my jaw dropping! The ending was dark and unexpected. This story enthralled me from start to finish.
In Stir the Bones, I could really picture myself there in the dark, humid basement with them, feeling the fear of the unknown and wondering what else was down there while worrying if I would ever get out. The ending brought everything full circle and calmed any lingering worry. This was a fabulous story that had me chilled to the bone, no pun intended.
Pretty Little Feet definitely had some crazy things happening. I felt like I was watching an episode of Criminal Minds. I enjoyed the way it freaked me out.
Cinnamon Rolls had great description that got into my head and had me questioning my own sobriety and sanity throughout. My pulse was racing as a physical response to the words.
Pain in the A** had that chilling story by the campfire that was definitely cringe-worthy and had me shifting in my seat. The description constantly had me squirming. That ending had me shocked and like WOW!
Writer's Block had very interesting wording; a real glimpse into the mind of a writer and their possible thoughts and processes. It was a splendid journey and ending.
I'm not usually a fan of werewolf-type paranormal stories, but I really enjoyed The Massacre at Foree Farm. The flow of the story kept me entertained. The brutal scenes jumped from the pages just like the werewolf itself.
This was a fantastic little anthology. I was very pleased to be able to read a copy. Every author was new-to-me and I plan to look into reading more from several of them.
