When this book first started I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. Then chapter one started and the story started ten years later. It was a good story to read. I felt it jumped around a lot but once you get to know who and what character everyone is then it is more clearer. This book ends leaving a lot of the story hanging so, I will read book 2.
This is the first book I have read by Eris Kelli, but I will read more.
The story itself was very interesting. Yes I've read shifter books and yes I've read vampire books and definitely gone through my fair share of paranormal romance, but this one was wholly different. The powers of Raylea, Vince, and Chase all differed so there wasn't just one aspect to what they could do. I loved how Raylea's shift was unique; I never knew what to expect when she shifted which added excitement to the story. Valdega was also an entirely different type of vampire altogether. If you are looking for a story that is tried and true to the shifter or paranormal or vampire tropes then you don't want to read this book. The new take on each type is certainly refreshing.
The characters themselves really made the story though. From the beginning you can see how certain characters are going to go certain ways. When some of Raylea's friends are presented with a change you have an idea about who will remain loyal to her and who will not, but what each of them do is pretty surprising whether they support her or not. I honestly had issues with Jeremy from the beginning (you'll see what I mean as soon as you start reading it), the author did a great job making me dislike him. I also like how the "Deaths" were written as well. Eventhough they don't pay a large role in the story as of yet, it is pivotal to the way that the story is going.
WOW what a book :) this book has a few characters but the main ones are Ray and Vince . They are both at the same college but have never met until one night when ray is out with her friends to celebrate her friends (Chrystal) 21st birthday, weird things start to happen, from this night live starts to take strange twists for a Ray, Vince and their friends, they go on a journey like no other... Life is never boring when your a shifter
