An English actor, television and radio presenter, and singer, best known as one half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller and as host of the BBC TV game show Pointless.
A highly entertaining and challenging quiz book based on the TV Series.
I honestly couldn't get many of the answers, because you need to know about pretty much every subject, but I think that's what you want with a quiz book. You want a very high difficulty.
The commentary throughout the book with Richard Osman and Alexander Armstrong is very funny, and captures their dry style of humour well.
I've read this book from cover to cover, such an easy read and highly entertaining, if you're a fan of pointless you'll love it! The quiz questions are exactly like the show and you may get excited to get a pointless answer, I guest one answer and punched the air when it was pointless. I've read their other pointless books, and this is in my opinion the best of the lot.
DNF I didn’t realise that this was so tied to the BBC TV series, I was expecting more of a general trivia book, with some interesting details along the way. While I admire Alexander Armstrong as a comedian, most of the writing seemed to have been done by Richard Osman, and I don’t find him funny. Sad, because I love trivia.
Lots of fun. Written by both Richard and Xander, the extra info we get about the show was very amusing. Interesting how utterly useless my partner would have been in the Jackpot round when up against the clock, so I might have to look for someone else if I ever enter.
The stuff about the show was good. The quiz questions were alright, but the answer pages made up a lot of filler. Worth a read if you like the show. I made a couple of good flashcards from it.
This is a nice little book and a good companion to the series. As you may expect, it works through the alphabet and alternates between a couple of pages of trivia from Alexander or Richard and several Pointless categories that fall under whichever alphabet letter you are currently on.
I would definitely recommend if you enjoy Pointless as well as Richard & Alexander's brand of humour.
This is a good addition to the ever-growing collection of Pointless books and perhaps more fun than playing the board game as you get a bit more information. They are still managing to keep the set - up fresh and well-balanced, I wonder what they'll do with the next book! Recommended for fans of the show.
