This story is non stop action from the beginning till the end. Dorian is sexy and mysterious. Tempest is the ultimate damsel in distress. I love reading books by Storm Sloan. They usually have such over the top characters that make you laugh and squirm at the same time. The Plot of the story has Tempest in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her boyfriend goes from boyfriend to fiance to dead in a matter of moments. About to be kidnapped by her boyfriends murders, she gets away only to be kidnapped by Dorian, but he has her safety in mind more than anything else. The chemistry between Dorian and Tempest is smoking hot. This book is past pace and full of danger. Exciting ending. Even though the characters don’t have much in the way of character development. I found myself cheering them on till the end of the story.

I received a free copy for an honest review. I have read and loved all of the books Sloan has published thus far so when I say this is her best yet you know it has to be good!
Tempest was doing just fine until her boyfriend whisked her off, proposed and got her involved in a deadly car chase, one that led to her being carried away in the strong arms of her kidnapper. Now locked away in his mansion she has no way to escape and can only do his bidding; the bidding of a man she hates. He keeps saying its to keep her safe but can she really trust him? What's more her hatred is slowly turning into something much more deadly - lust.
I LOVED every minute of Defying Dorian; the suspense, the drama and of course the romance. Once I started I stayed exactly where I was and ignored everyone until I had finished, I barely even moved for food and drink, and believe me it takes something REALLY special to keep me from my morning coffee! If you like a romance with a dark and dangerous hero, a lot of steaminess and of course a HEA then this is the one for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ.

I loved this story! Awesome! I couldn't put it down once I started reading it! It grabbed my attention the first few pages; What I thought was a proposal, turned into a clusterf**** of dangerous adventure, thrills of a chase, drama of a pathological psycho and hot sexy love story. I loved Tempest character , she was funny, courageous,brave and defying...oh so defying . Dorian... loved this sexy, hot, strong man. Oooo yummmy! How he loved his family and so protective of the ones he loved as much as Tempest. The scene in the observatory gazing at the stars together... I clutched my chest as it tighten in awe. Totally heart stopping. Hummmmm.....and the scene with the ring warmed my heart. Loved this action packed love story and the happy ending.
Oh Storm you rock hard girl!
I hope there will be more specifically with Ronan and Ainsley... what's their story... huh?

This story was exciting from the first page, "How had I gone from a marriage proposal to mass murder in the span of a couple of hours?"
Dorian was a strong, dynamic and dangerous man and he saves Tempest from certain death, but she doesn't appreciate being kidnapped and held against her will. She is not strong enough to refuse Dorian's charms.
"Every word he spoke riveted my attention...If it's yes, then just know that once I own something its mine--forever."
"She trembled in my arms, quivering with a mix of need and excitement. I explored her mouth with my tongue, inserting and withdrawing, gliding and twisting. I didn't want to leave nay doubt in her mind about what was going to happen."
I literally raced through this book, sitting on the edge of my chair in the shade of the trees and ignoring my family. This book is just THAT good!

WOW Sloan you did it again... Another amazing read.. I really loved this one. So much different from the others.. it was a little darker and I loved it.
I loved Tempest and Dorian.. and the side characters were amazing too...
This book is sooo full of mystery, suspense, love, hate, car chases, murder, kidnapping... you name it.. this has it..
Tempest is out on a mini vaca with her BF Todd.. when all of a sudden he proposes to her.. she is shocked to say the least.. but when the ride they are on turns into a car chase with gun fire.. and her realizing Todd is not who he seems.... Tempest is left all alone only this time on the run from what seems to be the bad guy.. who wants what she has... so what happens when you start falling for the man who kidnapped you (whom you are supposed to hate) ..

Defying Dorian was action from the get go, a car chase, a gun duel and death. And amongst it all is Tempest. She is scared but doesn't let that stop her from doing what she must. Dorian however does, and takes her back to his house for protection.
At first I was a bit frustrated because Dorian is seen as the bad guy. And Tempest is all hatred for him and then all lust filled. But as the story progressed and the dynamic became more apparent I could help but like both characters. Overall I really enjoyed this story and all the ins and outs and hidden little mysteries here and there.

I received a free copy for an honest review. I am a big fan of Sloan work and have read everything that has come out. I just cant seem to get enough of this author. I just love the stories in all the books I have read from this author and this one is no different. I want to say that I think this one is her best yet but I know as sure as I sit here and type this she will come out with another one to prove me wrong. I love a read that has a sh** ton of action, betrayal, drama and did I already say action!? Its a great roller coaster of a read. I cant wait to see what she has next.

Sloan is a very descriptive writer and she can write the hell out of a sex scene!! It takes Tempest a while to realize just how far Dorian will go to protect her and give her everything she wants and needs. Some times the story jumps a little which can be frustrating but overall the storyline flowed well. There is definitely a lot of excitement, drama, and sex.

Well... Where do I start. First off I have to say I was gutted when I i tried to swipe to the next page, when the realisation that the book was at 100 % to hit me - I was like nooooo. I truly wasn't ready to leave Dorian & Tempest, I wanted to desperately know more, experience more, feel more of their life ahead of them. Yup, Sloan turned me into a Dorian Junkie & she did it so well I didn't even know till it smacked me in the face.
Dorian - Come to Mamma, this man is hawt - Like is A Game his to die for!! Yes he's literally god like,, but this man is also passionate,formidable, loyal & so damn protective. His life to date has been focused around his business, running a shrewd empire, he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty especially if it's to help out family or those closest to him, his word is his strength & trust is everything. A brother is in need & without hesitation he comes to his aide, but he isn't prepared for the brave, feisty, challenging siren that he encounters at the scene. The moment she is in his arms he knows that his world will never be the same again. How she feels pressed against his body, the feel of her skin, her scent, her curves. The overwhelming desire to protect her erupts like a volcano, it's unstoppable in its intensity & Dorian knows he will keep her safe at all costs - which lucky for him, also means keeping her close.
Tempest - Love her!! She is a beautiful fire cracker & as stubborn as a mule. Talk about wrong time, wrong place, wrong boyfriend!! Unlucky is what she is most definately, & no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't out run the inevitable... But those arms, that hard, muscled body holding her tight in the darkness, is all she feels as she loses the battle. How can she trust the man who took her, how can she believe he wants to protect her, when all she can see is him trying to control her. Their story was addictive & I was easily pulled in from the very beginning - the opening chapter really did hook me in hard & fast. Being a huge fan of dual POV, i loved the fact I could see into both of their hearts & minds, to grow with them as their charaters developed throughout the book. There was times I wanted to shake Temp for being so frickin stubborn, but others when I wanted to wrap her in a hug & tell her it would be alright. As for Dorian, well even in all his bad alpha ways, he was still pretty damn perfect to me. The sexual chemistry was tangible & off the charts. You could feel the lust & desire pulsate between them & hot damn did Sloan deliver some scenes that left you breathless. The book delivered some great plot twists & some suspense, which overall left me wanting more, not just from these two, but from the others you meet along the way like Ronan & Ainsley - Now theirs is a story I cant wait for!!

Dorian - Come to Mamma, this man is hawt - Like is A Game his to die for!! Yes he's literally god like,, but this man is also passionate,formidable, loyal & so damn protective. His life to date has been focused around his business, running a shrewd empire, he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty especially if it's to help out family or those closest to him, his word is his strength & trust is everything. A brother is in need & without hesitation he comes to his aide, but he isn't prepared for the brave, feisty, challenging siren that he encounters at the scene. The moment she is in his arms he knows that his world will never be the same again. How she feels pressed against his body, the feel of her skin, her scent, her curves. The overwhelming desire to protect her erupts like a volcano, it's unstoppable in its intensity & Dorian knows he will keep her safe at all costs - which lucky for him, also means keeping her close.
Tempest - Love her!! She is a beautiful fire cracker & as stubborn as a mule. Talk about wrong time, wrong place, wrong boyfriend!! Unlucky is what she is most definately, & no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't out run the inevitable... But those arms, that hard, muscled body holding her tight in the darkness, is all she feels as she loses the battle. How can she trust the man who took her, how can she believe he wants to protect her, when all she can see is him trying to control her. Defying Dorian is no exception - unlike the Never Never Man series, and the Slipperless series, Defying Dorian gave me the chills when I met Dorian, I couldn't help but feel the power behind his words and orders, making him nothing but a dominant who expects only obedience. When he meets Tempest, he hadn't expected to find a strong willed woman in need of protection but never it to come with a price - that of having to rely on someone else and knowing that he wants each command done as instructed. But Tempest wonder if falling in love and listening to every single order means she'll also lose her independence as well.
This was an amazing novel since it had everything I would look for in a book: romance, an alpha male (and what an alpha he is), mystery/suspense and the banter between two people that actually makes me laugh. I hadn't expected this genre of novel coming from Sloan Storm, only because I'm used to her confident men in her contemporary/sports novels, the Fastlane series, and her two alpha males in the Never Never Man and Slipperless series, but I won't complain one single bit. No matter what I tried, I couldn't put down the book (at the aggravated look of a few when they were waiting for me to go somewhere!) and I really can't wait for Sloan Storm's next release just to find out how else she'll be able to surprise me. I can't stress jut how much I'd recommend this book to other readers needing ideas on what they should read in any type of contemporary romance with a twist.

Well well well. This is my first time reading this author and let's just say I was pleasantly surprised.
So Tempest (how cool is her name) was with Todd enroute to Reno when thing to all the way wrong. In swoops in Dorian to save her (but is he the cause of this or her really her savior). Dorian goes against everyone on his team and take her in to protect her). Their ensuing battle of wills was just something to watch.
Tempest is head strong and been through so much in her years. She has a father in jail, mom died, Todd was an ass, she had to deal with each grabby hands as a cocktail waitress. What she didn't want to do was be held hostage (no matter how hot he is).
Dorian....savior or gangster in a business suit??
I like Ainsley and Ronan (hope we get a story about them. They are the only question make that was left. I feel like there is more there.
Now the reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were just some slow spots. There where a few spots that just had me like "huh". Also I felt like I'm missing something with the Hitman's mama (I'm still lost on that).
I enjoyed this writer and this story. I'm looking forward to what this author is going to put out.

Sloan Storm returns to the writing world with Defying Dorian, an action packed novel full of twists and turns.
Tempest knows that her boyfriend, Todd, is a bit shady, but she has no idea just how shady. Some nefarious characters want the case that he was transporting for a “client”, and don’t particularly care who they have to kill to get it. Tempest has no idea what is in this case - she just wants to get out with her neck intact.
Dorian has also been sent to retrieve this case. He tracks it to Todd, and discovers Tempest stranded alongside a desert road, terrified and surrounded by the bodies of her boyfriend and the men who came to collect it. She’s obviously innocent, and he rescues her, intending to keep her safe until the case is delivered to its rightful owner. Perhaps he should have explained that to Tempest - his “rescue” seemed a lot more like “kidnapped” to her. Even though she wakes up in a mansion, a gilded cage is still a cage, right? Dorian tries to explain the situation to her, but she questions his motivations, despite the simmering attraction between them. Tempest is torn: does she trust this handsome stranger who says he only wants to protect her? Or does she go with her instincts and try her hardest to escape?
I enjoyed Defying Dorian. I had a good time trying to figure out just how everyone in this novel was connected, and Tempest’s spunk made me laugh more than once. Dorian was a good hero, alpha without being a jerk, mysterious and dangerous. I genuinely liked Tempest, she was a personable character, which is great, because this author’s female leads and I have rarely seen eye to eye. She hit it out of the park with this one, earning a four and a half star rating from me. The last quarter of the book was where it really hit its stride, and was where it pushed itself from that four star to the four and a half. The action was great, and kept me turning the pages, excited to see what would happen next. I can only hope that more good things will be coming in the future!

Tempest and her boyfriend were headed to Reno when everything in her life would change, one minute she is getting purposed to and the next they are being chased and shot at. A brief case that she had no idea about will change her life forever and will bring her into Dorian's life. Tempest only has her father in this world and with everything that is going on she will need to learn to trust Dorian when he says its not safe out there yet for her, but she will push all his buttons and learn just how dangerous it can be.
What I enjoyed most about Defying Dorian is watching Tempest at every point in all this being so strong and not showing weakness, willing to do whatever it takes to survive. Watching Dorian fall for her and do everything in his power to keep her safe and wanting to make her happy. Watching them fall in love, and Dorian doing things for her to help make her happy when it comes to her dad. Seeing how they both have saved the other's life and how close their bond has grown in a short amount of time.
This is my first Sloan Storm book but will not be my last. I loved this book. This story has a Woman who is all of a sudden whisked away by her boyfriend to go to Reno for some unknown reason when her life is literally turned upside down, she goes from one situation to another in a matter of minutes, a man who is willing to protect her even if its not safe for him as he feels something for her that he hasnt for any other, with his sister and others in his household that let her know that she isnt wanted there, dangerous men that are after her wanting revenge, A love story. If you like stories like this, then Defying Dorian is a must!!
