The first three books of the bestselling Judas Chronicles series:
IMMORTAL PLAGUE
William Barrow carries a dark secret. A very dark secret.
An archivist for the Smithsonian Institute and also a part-time operative for the CIA, no one would ever suspect the handsome ‘thirty-ish’ William is in fact the most reviled human being to ever walk the earth. His infectious warmth and sense of humor make such an assertion especially hard to believe.
But long ago, William Barrow had another name…one that is synonymous with shame and betrayal: Judas Iscariot.
Forced to walk the earth as a cursed immortal, William/Judas is on a quest to reclaim the thirty silver shekels paid to him in exchange for Jesus Christ. Twenty-one coins have now been recovered—thanks in large part to the help from his latest son, the esteemed Georgetown University history professor, Alistair Barrow.
Ever hopeful the complete coin collection will buy him a full pardon from God and end his banishment from heaven, William plans a visit to a remote village deep within Iran’s Alborz Mountains to retrieve ‘silver coin number twenty-two’. But the CIA has a different objective for this trip, one that pits both father and son against an unscrupulous Russian billionaire searching for something else that’s just as precious within the ancient mountains of Iran…something that threatens peace in the modern world if William and Alistair fail to reach it first.
IMMORTAL REIGN
For William Barrow, two thousand years is a very long time…too long, when it is a perpetual punishment for betraying Jesus Christ.
The man originally known as Judas Iscariot is on a mission to recover thirty silver shekels once paid to him for his ultimate treachery. Twenty-two coins have been recovered, leaving just eight to go. But when his Russian nemesis, Viktor Kaslow, also becomes immortal, the stakes are immediately raised.
Kaslow has followed William and his son, Alistair, to Hong Kong in search of a ‘blood coin’ passed down through Genghis Khan. The coin presently belongs to an esteemed Chinese collection. But along with the coin are other cursed items from the famed Mongol Emperor. William soon learns he can’t have the ‘one’ without the others.
William has waited eight hundred years for a second chance to reclaim this particular coin that inspired the Mongolian Empire’s bloody violence it was once famous for. While Kaslow closes in, seeking his own vengeance, William and Alistair race against the CIA and an unscrupulous American businessman intent on reaching the cursed ‘treasure trove’ before them.
Much is at stake for the Barrows and the world, as a deadly weapon unseen for centuries lies in wait alongside blood coin number twenty-three….
IMMORTAL DESTINY
In this third installment of The Judas Chronicles, William Barrow (AKA Judas Iscariot) is faced with recovering the silver coin he dreads above all others. Known as the "Singing Coin" among the ancients, this shekel was originally lost long ago...on the very night of Jesus Christ's arrest in Jerusalem. Hoping to save it for last, until after the other twenty-nine coins are recovered, Viktor Kaslow's recent designs for the coin thwart William's plan.
A new murder spree has begun for the ruthless Kaslow, who races against William and the immortal Roderick Cooley to obtain the coin from a reclusive Essene sect residing in the Bolivian Andes. But unlike William and Kaslow's previous confrontations, this one involves many more outside interests, since this coin contains unusual properties. If it falls into the wrong hands, the entire world will be brought to its trembling knees...
The stakes have never been higher for William, his family, and the welfare of mankind. To stop Kaslow, William must rely on the help of Roderick, Alistair, and a host of others, both mortal and immortal, to have any hope of reclaiming blood coin number twenty.

A good fun read. I'm never too comfortable with 'religious' themes in books, but this was a nice blend of action. horror, paranormal, covert-ops, fantasy and romance.
The character of Judas was believable and well-written, particularly in his emotions. Some aspects of the stories were a little too far-fetched to fit into the overall theme of the books but the idea behind the novels is intriguing.
I rate according to Goodreads rating - I like this book and will probably read again, as well as buy the next in the series.
Ok, so naturally I was like sweet books 1-3, I'll get a good feel for the storyline and if there are more to the series, I can buy them too. I was about 60% of the way through this book when it finished and I found the author has put the first chapters of his other books in there. This was a HUGE disappointment after I had liked the story I had been reading.
It’s not often I download a Kindle book that is a three in one offer, but this intrigued me so I made the decision to do so; I was not disappointed. I’m not exactly sure what I was expecting, as there have been so many books giving a different slant on the Judas story, but this was certainly not the normal fare.
The main protagonist is, of course, Judas, and he is a well written and very believable character. He bares his emotions and feelings about the longevity of his life, whilst adding humour to his recounting of his life. This makes him a likable character and one who, regardless of your religious beliefs, the reader will be very hard pressed to not be able to connect to.
With a skilful hand the Author takes a different route from the ones normally read about. There are biblical references throughout the book which I enjoyed but which some, more religious readers than I, may find rude and blasphemous but these add to the reality of the Judas story and are necessary in the development of the storyline. There were times when some aspects of the story appeared just a little too farfetched to fit comfortably into the stories as a whole, but this does not detract from the sheer enjoyment that is to be had from reading these books.
These books will be able to hit the spot for most readers as they have a blend of covert operations, horror and the paranormal, to name but three and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an enjoyably e read to while away these cold winter days. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series, and possibly others written by this Author.
Extremely interesting and unique story idea, there is a lot to explore with this and I'm glad to see that the author has expounded on the unlikely antihero whose driven by an insatiable need for redemption.
Unfortunately, the writing style is a bit muddled and at times contradictory. Not sure if the author intended that to be given the main character's unique characteristics are some what contradictory but at times it made the reading difficult.
These first three books in The Judas Chronicles do not disappoint. Apparently Judas has been wandering the world for over 2000 years trying to track down the 30 Silver Shekels he was paid for his betrayal. Once he gets them all back in his possession he can possibly receive forgiveness and be free of his wandering. There are some pretty spectacular adventures he goes through along the way with a cast of interesting characters. It was a fun read.
An intriguing group of 3 stories, the beginning of many more to follow I hope. An unusual set of 3 stories sequentially expounding on a charscter that has lived for 2 millenis following the betrsyal of Christ. Looking for the original 30 shekels that he was paid by the Pharisees he travels worldwide to didcover their current locstioninan attempt of atonement
This series is wonderful. I love the interaction it has with the biblical stories. The action is very addicting and goes well with the protection of family and friends. Great story line. Every book was as good as the last. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
I believe book one was good but two and three I didn't feel did the storyline justice. Book three was out there and seemed to take a left turn in a direction I didn't expect. Overall the series was OK not great, would I recommend it...not really.
Who everthougt Judas could be funny. Compassionate, adventerous. The loacal, characters and interaction are masterfully woven intoaliving tapestry. At first i thought blah another fanatical book. i got that answer WRONG. Good series.
Clever concept, poor execution. Judas is immortal and must find all 31 coins to obtain redemption for betraying Jesus. Over the last 2 millennium heads obtain many of them. He has at least one immortal evil enemy who is trying to stop his quest. Too much fantasy and too little else.
I enjoyed book one and two, finding if I used my imagination I could believe what was written. BUT book 3 was so far out of imagination that I found it difficult to finish. I did want to know if all the coins were retieved and if he went to his eternal rest.
interesting idea, plenty of action, but the antagonist is so outrageously evil and over the top
I love books set in exotic locations, with archeological artifacts and plenty of action. The historical villain being the hero was intriguing. The immortality of this character compared with those of his loved ones was interesting, although seems to be done quite a bit lately. But the antagonist of this story was too over the top. He was evil for the sake of evil, there seemed no rational motivation for the depth of his hatred. The characters were interesting, the adventures interesting, but for some reason I had to push myself through this set of books. Overall a decent read, but not as compelling as I would hope.
Aiden James is a masterful story teller. Judas Iscariot has spent 2000 years wandering the earth on a quest to find the 30 silver coins he was given for betraying Jesus. He will not be redeemed until he has found every single coin. This idea is absolutely genius. Aiden's writing is so vivid and imaginative. The Judas series is my favorite of all his books. Many twists and turns to the stories. Just when you think you know what is coming next the author surprises you. A must read if you like mystery, intrigue, romance, and a bit of paranormal.
Interesting story line. I like the way the past & present is interwoven to create great action and a captivating read. History, fiction, religion, wit & humor all mixed together with action packed fights of good against evil. Lots of imagination, mixed with enough facts & history to make it almost believable. A real page turner!
Absolutely LOVED these first three installments of The Judas Chronicles! I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! I cannot wait, as a matter of fact, I'm uploading it now, to start book 4! Great story.
Really enjoyed these and the adventures that Judas goes through to find and reclaim the 30 pieces of silver he received for the betrayal of Jesus. He is hoping that once he reclaims all the silver that Jesus will eventually forgive him his sins.
For a man his age, Judas Iscariot should have better manners, I would think. Overall, I found this trilogy fun and exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed the biblical references, even if most "religious" people would find it ridiculous and rude. I hope there's more to come.
I have enjoyed historical fiction for many years and I am always looking for a new adventure. The author's ability to weave biblical and historical events into a modern day thriller is unmatched. This is an intriguing and completely engaging series.
What would the life of Judas Iscariot be like if......what a great story (series), what a vivid imagination Mr. James has. A great historical thriller.
An interesting adventure story. I was hoping for something with a bit more historical bend to it along the lines of the Casca series, but still in all, it wasn't bad. Judas is, of course, the infamous disciple and the blood coins are the 30 pieces of silver it is his task to recover before God will let him be redeemed. He's been at it for over 2,000 years now and is down to the last 6.
