Blurb: Treasured Find Royal-Kagan Shifter World, book 1
Sometimes the greatest finds are unexpected.
After five centuries, Rafe Alexander knows what to expect from life—boredom, broken by the occasional call from Shifter Affairs.
No matter what the job, he always accepts their plea for help. As a Royal shifter, he’s the strongest of their kind. And without a mate, he has nothing to live for. Whatever the risk, he’ll take it.
But the task that leads him to West Virginia changes everything. A father is dead. A shifter child is missing. And the human female connected to both tragedies is hiding a secret.
Rafe must figure out what she knows, but his interest in Jasmine goes far beyond the case. She’s his true mate. And she doesn’t trust him. He can’t blame her. Loving him is more dangerous than the killer targeting her family. The only difference is that Rafe won’t ever let her escape. Nobody keeps a shifter from his mate.
Beautiful Mistake Royal-Kagan Shifter World, book 2
A tortured man…A fearless woman…A mistake that’ll change their lives forever.
Three centuries ago, Devin Moore sacrificed his sanity to save his sister. Every day since is spent in a constant battle of wills with the three crazed cats—lion, tiger and jaguar—he houses. Keeping his shattered mind together has taken its toll, destroying any hope of having a family, but he can’t turn his back on innocents in need.
When information on his pride’s missing child reaches him, he rushes to bring her home. But the rescue mission goes horribly wrong. Lena, the human female who turns herself into bait in order to protect the little girl, is wounded and struggling to survive.
In a desperate act, he saves Lena. But it doesn’t erase his past mistakes. And for a broken man who’s finally offered hope, there’s only one thing left to do—prove his worth. The only problem? He’ll never be whole. Or sane. But maybe…just maybe…even the damned can find peace.
Favorite Obsession Royal-Kagan Shifter World, book 3
Forbidden is in the eye of the beholder.
As a human living among shifters, Josh Conway is expected to abide by Pride law. But he’s never been very good at following rules. He’d rather make his own. The habit has gotten him in trouble over the years, but it’s all about the endgame. And this time he knows exactly what he wants—the gorgeous feline shifter who’s off-limits.
Mira is his. He knew it the moment he looked into her eyes. Of course, convincing her of the truth involves overcoming a prophecy, her protective family, and the little issue of them being different species. No big deal. He’ll figure out a way to make it work. His mind is made up. He’s not letting his woman go. Ever.
Interesting World, good suspense, a bit heavy on pointless sex scenes
Treasured Find…First book in the Royal-Karen series. It’s an interesting and different take on shifters. Not sure I’m sold on the change in accepted mythology...three animals in one person doesn’t seem to have a purpose and it’s never explained by the author. The story here in a good one though it drags on too long...the story arc is pretty slowly paced...mostly, it appears, as an excuse to add more sex scenes. Now I’m not opposed to a good sex scene. However I want it to serve the storyline, not interfere with it.
Rafe is an admirable main character, carrying guilt for his actions that he believed allowed for his parents’ murder and his sister’s disappearance. Jasmine is a human secretly raising shifter twins that she was asked by their mother to take and protect after escaping from an experimentation lab. That whole story is a bit vague when it is finally told.
The other characters we are introduced to in this book have interesting stories too it appears. I’m sure subsequent stories will be entertaining though if they are like this one I’ll be doing a lot of skimming through various parts.
Beautiful Mistake…Really enjoying this series though I have the same criticism of this book as the first. Too many sex scenes which interrupt the flow of the story. I’m not a prude and love a good steamy scene as much as the next person but I want it to contribute to and enhance the story, not interfere with it. Too many such scenes start to make it look like the author does it have confidence in her story to stand and hold the reader. This story is strong and more time should have been devoted to enhancing it and developing character instead of resorting to steam for steam’s sake. Again, a lot of skimming happened here.
I really love Devin, and did in book one also. Lena is an intriguing character but does it feel like she was fully developed. We get little hints of her background that I would have liked to have seen more of.
The crisis scenes at the end had me on the edge of my seat and my pulse racing. Such intense and emotional writing! Heading right into book three.
Favorite Obsession…I’ve been looking forward to Josh’s story. Really enjoyed it. It’s obvious what is going to happen/is happening to him and the story arc pacing is a bit slow in getting there. When it finally does it isn’t quite obvious what has happened and because I want to avoid spoilers I can’t really clarify but it’s a bit confusing and unsatisfying. I really like Mira and her strength in face of what she’s dealing with.
There are several intriguing things thrown in this one that are never fully explained and that is really annoying as it leaves part of the story up in the air for no good reason. Some things are thrown in to up the tension but are resolved in an anti climatic way. Once again Corrigan has a taught, suspenseful crisis with great climatic scenes. And once again the sex, once it starts (there’s more of a reprieve in this one as Josh and Mira don’t get together until a third of the way in) is over the top. This books ends with some intriguing hints at the next couple. Overall the first three books are an entertaining read. I’m not all that thrilled with some of the shifts away from the accepted shifter mythology/universe but that’s just because it interferes with my existing knowledge base. The whole Shifter Affairs/Shifter Council thing just doesn’t work for me. But it was necessary to the elements of this author’s story and the ongoing conspiracy. The heavy use of sex scenes which don’t really enhance the storyline is offputting enough for me that I’m not sure I’ll continue reading the series (though I really do want to see what happens with Kade and Zoe!)
Was given these books to read and give a honest review. Rafe Alexander knows what to expect from life--boredom broken by the occasional call from Shifter Affairs. No matter how mundane the job, he always accepts their plea for help. The new task embroils him with the fact that a human is dead and a child a shifter child is missing.
The need to uncover the mystery surrounding her, grows but his felines want more the that they want him close to her . Jasmine is special, both for how she affects him and for the treasure she's been guarding.
Danger mounts, he's left balancing his desire for revenge and his need to protect. Great book, even if a little slow, but understood the need, there is just too much info that is needed to understand what is happening, loved the book
Beautiful Mistake book 2
Devin Moore sacrificed his sanity to save his sister, and since he in a constant battle of wills with the three crazed cats--lion, tiger and jaguar, that are part of him and he is part of them. Information on his pride's missing child reaches him, he rushes to bring her home. But the rescue mission goes horribly wrong. Lena, the human female who turns herself into bait in order to protect the little girl, is wounded and struggling to survive. In a desperate act, he saves Lena. As a broken man who's finally offered hope, there's only one thing left to do--prove his worth. Will he be able to prove himself worthy of her . Another great book and super great story.
Favorite Obsession book 3
Mira has gone from the chosen daughter to a woman shamed. She also found peace among her Family, but the one thing MIra never thought she would find, love she never thought she would find it, and when Josh walked into her live she found he was the only male she’s ever wanted, desired and burned for, and he’s the only man she can never hope to keep.
On the first eye contact with MIra and Josh knew he was lost, she is everything he ever wanted, but obstacles keeping them apart seem insurmountable, Josh knows he’s the man Mira needs. Will both overcome the obstacles in their path and find the immortal love? Its a good book, great story
Well written by Nancy Corrigan Jasmine and Rafe met and fell in love with with each other yet they had secrets about themselves that one should know about he can change into three animals as he is a royal shifter gifted with immortal life from the Golden Goddess and she has twins that can change into animals yet they are not her birth children fate has placed them together and Rafe is Jazz twins uncle. Devin is a member of the Alexander's roýal shifters with his sister Mira,he has to find Molly a baby shifter of Josh, his sister beloved human daughter Megan's twin he met Lena not knowing that Molly is Lena adopted sister and she will do anything to keep Molly safe. Dèvin almost killed her while he was spaced out in his rage and saved her by giving her a part of his soul and she turned out to be his mate. Josh fell in love with Mira from day òne and fought to gain her love and respect despite being told he was a human and could not mate her as she was foretold to have children that would be special he was attacked and was saved by the Alexander's Goddess whom made him their host of three cats have claws and fang but not change, human but not lion but not, altered enough to mate Lena given an alternate realm to go to in time of need for his family (wife and children) and no one else. These books are a die to must read 5🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅stars will recommend to friends and family I received this free book and voluntarily give a free review thank you to the author and Amazon.
I love a good story with sex, but I find myself bored with a tease of a storyline and nothing but pointless sex. The plot sounded interesting and I was intrigued to read a steamy shapeshifter thriller…so where is the actual story?
13 Chapters in and it's been nothing but porn with tiny random plot crumbs dropped during their refractory period. Where's the intrigue? Where's the danger? Hell, where's the actual story? Did it somehow get lost in the protagonist's vagina along the way?
The "I really shouldn't, he's a stranger" whining over and over as Jazz succumbs to EVERY advance Rafe makes, gets REAL old real quick too. Just admit you're a woman with a healthy sexual appetite and fuck him. The repetitive existential crisis about it is weak and annoying.
I can read one shot fics for Porn Without Plot, I was hoping for an actual story from this novel.
I already left review on these books singly when I first read them. I love this series. Great storyline. Loved all the characters and the editing was great. Great series to lose yourself in.
This is definitely an adult read 18+. Honesty I love a steamy book. However the sex scenes were a little over the top in a few places (not believable) and one scene in book 3 (my favorite in this series) made me kinda gag but laugh. Just be prepared for a LOT of steamy scenes. I just glanced over some and the book was still amazing!
I really wanted to like this series. It intrigue me enough with its originality but failed to keep from rolling my eyes. Here’s why: this series was filled with a lot of sex, inner monologue, excessive amount of description and repetitive statements. No matter how hot and sexy the screens they cannot make up for lack of a real story. Like I wanted to connect but every story except for the last was lust at first no matter how primal you’re trying to state in the stories. A lot was left unsaid and a lot history backdrop left me slightly confused.
The first two books were good but by the third book I was tired of the repetition. The story that drew me and kept me were the welfare of the children but that story isn't finished yet. Maybe further down the line it was completed in book 7 of 8; but the 4th book isn't about the same species, so if you read the stories in order you won't be able to find out anytime soon. I don't know for sure if I will skip to book 7 which appears to pick up on book 2 because the focus on completing the storyline of the children was no longer a main topic.
I like the series. I thought it would be about guys that were like a prince or kings something like that.but the series was really about these men who had three animals inside of them instead of just one. So that made him of the total line. They also meet you in women and fall in love which is also on usual because they were always just mating women that were also like them. But that was causing their Heritage to get mixed with each other to much then they found they could mate humans ..
I have to say I liked the books but I didn't love the books. The plot kept me on the end of my chair but the sex scenes just seemed never ending. I think so much more could have been written in place of the never ending sex scenes that would have made them really good books! I gave 4 stars because I did like them but if I can't pick it up and read it again, then it's not a 5 star. I can't go thru those long draw out sex scenes again it's too exhausting to read lol
... it's that the melodrama is so over-the-top. Characters careen like balls in a pinball machine from one crisis to another, never taking the five minutes they need for honest conversation instead of angst-ridden self-recriminations, rampant assumptions, and jumps to conclusions. That said, the open bedroom scenes are well written and steamy. I managed to read two of the three books in this compilation before enough was enough.
Wow what a great introduction to an unread author. Each of the three books are standalone and there many secondary characters that catch your interest. Fingers crossed that your favorite supporting character will rate a book of their own as good as the first three.
I found the characters to be well developed and the storyline sufficiently involved to maintain interest and curiositas to what would happen next and the resolution to the current problem( s.)y
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and will purchase the accompanying books in the series. Making my friends aware! Great
4.5 This was a great boxed set! I really enjoyed reading it. I think the last book was my favorite. I really hope that Kade gets a book soon. I am so curious about Kade and Zoe. I love how the shifters were explained. It was unique and to me creative. There is plenty of drama and lust and love going on. I cant wait to read the next book. This series will be one that I will follow for sure.
Nancy Corrigan's concept of royal shifters was really an interesting one. It gave another twist to a shifter's conflecting inner workings. Three animal spririts and the hatred and jealousy of the "normal" mortal shifters made this series unique for me. All three stories were entertaining. Well crafted characters, good storylines and capable writing.
The premise was interesting enough, but I couldn't get beyond the first few chapters of the first book. Race is not sexy 100% because his attitude towards Jazz is just rapey and gross and misogynistic. Jazz herself says no in their first interaction for good reasons and then waffles because he's oh-so-hot...yeah ok. No thanks.
I was drawn in after I read the synopsis. I have to say at first I felt a little confused trying to figure out what the difference between a shifter and a royal was but it did not take long to find out. The more I read the more I got into the book. It was not long the author had me hanging on each and every word. Sad the book is over. I now have a lot of questions. Like what about Molly? Can Seth be helped? What about Nina? and Who will Kade mate to? Yeah, a lot of questions and will have too remember to check out upcoming books in this series.
Now for the main characters in the book Jazz was a special person. I looked at her as a heart of gold. Here she was raising royal shifter boys that were not her own. She shows that a mother does not have to be blood. She would risk her life for her boys. She would do what it takes to keep them safe.
Rafe was there to uncover the illegal adoption of Megan. The guy who had adopted her was now dead. Rafe and his pride must find out what is going on and keep this girl safe. Rafe was what was called a royal. Unlike shifters who had one animal living inside them Rafe had 3.
Rafe was highly attracted to Jazz. His felines wanted her. Rafe needs to find out how Jazz is connected to Tony and Megan. He also needs to find out how she got the royal boys that she calls her own. I loved the watching Rafe and Jazz fall for each other. Rafe needs to figure out how to get Jazz to trust him. He wants to claim her as his mate but has to figure out how to tell her he has to kill her to mate her.
Beautiful Mistake:
Nancy Corrigan did a wonderful job. This is the second book in the series. I had fell in love with the characters in book one. We get to see more about Molly in this book which is Megan’s twin.
Devin Moore was a handsome royal. Royals contain 3 animals within. We were first introduced to Devin in book one. He had a sister that was his twin. Devin had been through so much. He had suffered so much pain and was broken. He housed a tiger, lion, and a jaguar. Though he tried to protect his animals the best he could through the past abuse it still did not help. He no longer could trust them. He was always scared what they might do. He was so damaged he thought he could never be worthy enough to find a true mate.
I loved how much Devin’s Alpha Kane and his friend Xander stood by him. Many probably would of thought he needed to be put down. His Alpha and friends protected him the best he they could. Kane shown so much trust in him and this had to shock Devin to some degree.
I loved the character Lena Burnett which was a human. She was doing everything should could to protect her family. She had so much loyalty and compassion when it came to her family. She would even self-sacrifice if need to be. She finds herself facing a life and death situation but she faces it with no fear. She is stubborn and hard headed. Devin finds he has his hands full. He must do everything he can to save her, protect her, gain her trust, and win her heart.
Lena is damaged as well. She has been in one bad relationship after another and finds that she does not trust man. She has no desire to have a relationship. As you read the story of Lena and Devin you will see how perfect they are for each other. They pretty much complete each other.
Bad people are after Molly. This has to be a scary time for Molly only being 5 years old, but she shows no fear. She has a special ability that causes her to be greatly desired. Molly’s adopted family are doing everything they can to protect her, but is it enough? Will Lena ever trust Devin to let him help?
Devin understands about being damaged and abused. So he is the prefect one to help Molly. It will be interesting to see his interaction with Molly in upcoming books.
Fabulous Obsession:
I am so enjoying this series. If you have followed the series at all then you probably have already fell in love with Josh and Mira. Nancy Corrigan has one amazing imagination and you can well tell that in this story. I so love when you see an author’s creativity in their writing.
Josh Conway has had it hard. He is human and in love with a Royal. A Royal is a shifter that houses 3 animals. It has to be hard living among the shifters, expected to follow their rules, and yet not be worthy enough to claim the woman he loves. Josh has been in love with Mira since the moment he laid eyes on her.
Mira has a lot on her plate. She has found her true mate. The problem is he is human. She feels the gods must truly hate her. Why would they send someone that is her true mate that would be someone she could not have. Mira is being forced by the Shifter Council to take a mate. I can not imagine the hurt and pain Mira must of felt when she heard this. She feels she is nothing more then a incubator. Her life goal is to breed.
I love Josh’s determination. It seems the more that is thrown his way the more determined he gets. He truly as a heart of an Alpha. He will do what ever it takes to fight for Mira. I do not want to give away to much in this book. There is a lot that happens and several surprises along the way. Lets just leave it as Josh is determined to make his own rules to get what he wants and has some help along the way.
Wow what a stunning shifter story. I almost wish I was an immortal shifter. The love and protection these men have for their women is epic. Well done on a tremendously good shifter story.
Don't normally readshidterbooks, but have found myself reading them, and becoming attached to the stories and characters. Loved this series of books, stories and characters..
I have to like the characters in any story I read and I loved these characters. They are imperfect but still worthy of finding their happily ever after.
Royal Shifters: Books 1-3 of the Shifter World: Royal-Kagen series
I'm enjoying the series. My favorite of the three was the third one which explained so much more of their ancestors and the motivation of their goddesses.
The storyline drew me in further with each page. I found it hard to put down and return to real life when I had to. If you love shifter books ad much as I do this will be well worth your time
These Royal shifters are worth getting to know & learn their stories! Granted, it takes a bit getting used to this series & the differences between the Royals and single shifters but are so worth it! Can't wait to read the rest of the series!
You have got to love these hot alpha men and the strong women they're fated. While the shifters are possessive and protective they've got nothing on human Josh.
This is a really fun intro to this series. It's well written, and the characters are very engaging. I feel like I'm already so invested in these characters lives that I can't wait to see what happens next.
This book is very good. I liked the first book better than the second but the third was good too. Story line kept me interested right from the very beginning. Lots of passion, and suspense. Highly recommend.
This is an awesome series, the characters are well rounded and the plots interesting and thought provoking. If you are not interested in reading a lot of sex scenes this would not be a series for you.
I struggled to finish the first book... it started off strong then became a little mundane... I finished book 1 and didn’t like the following two male charters enough to read book 2 and 3.
Stories could have been good. I did like the characters. Could do without the majority of the explicit sex. Nothing is left to the imagination. Should be labeled erotica. Doubt I will read anymore of these.
