Rate this book
Two years have passed since Team Plasma was defeated and Trainer Black was sucked into the Light Stone along with Legendary Pokémon Reshiram… Now Team Plasma is back to its wicked ways, controlling other people’s Pokémon and even wild Pokémon with technology. Luckily, a new young hero and Looker of the International Police are on their trail…

Whitley is beginning to have feelings for Inspector Blake, but it seems all he cares about is figuring out if she is a Team Plasma spy planted at their school. A chorus tournament in Castelia City strikes some sour notes when the Seven Sages crash the event. And then, who will save Legendary Pokémon Kyurem from Team Plasma…?

So, Blake is continuing to harass Whitley in this volume, and she's starting to, ugh, gag, develop feelings for him. Oh, how quickly she's tossed N aside (which is not super age appropriate for her, but since I've read ahead, I know it doesn't go anywhere weird, thank goodness)! And what a profound lesson for the youngsters. Just be persistent. They'll give in at some point.

Anyway, Blake and Looker are still investigating Team Plasma and trying to arrest the seven sages and Colress is still being Colress. He's a great villain, really. He's charming but so sinister. Is it weird that he and Ghetsis keep calling each other "my friend?" They go on like that for the entire series. If feels like thinly veiled hatred. Or maybe they really are great friends and just love to say it at every single possible opportunity. Who knows?

I loved this one. We get to see Team Plasma from a different point of view, and I can see not all of them are that bad. They remind me of N, and I was beginning to like him too.
I love Whitley so much, she's so sweet and cares so much about others.
Blake is getting on my nerves, I don't like him too much, but he's a good kid.

The pacing is good and they're really taking the story in its own direction. I found Black having a bunch of random Pokemon a bit odd, particularly Kabutops, without a real backstory. And he caught Keldeo? It all seems kinda OP.

This volume jumped around a bit much for my taste but I like the rom-com element that is not present in other Pokemon stories I have read. I remember having a crush when I was 12-years-old.
