Beginner's Guide to Power Walking

Rate this book
It’s all about walking to keep trim and fit—but it’s also fun! Six graded training schedules will take readers from beginner status all the way to long-distance, and even marathon walker. The author also offers expert advice on shoes to match each walker’s individual striding profile. She explains that creating a schedule does not mean subjecting oneself to strict regimes or rules, but merely providing realistic goals for safe, effective, and enjoyable exercise. She also suggests a wide array of tips for staying motivated, which includes everything from buying new walking shoes to setting a weight-loss goal. The book is filled with attractive photos and charts that supplement the authors’ advice.
