After breaking the treaty between the shifters and the witches—in order to save the shifters, mind you—this could be the invitation Merry Eastwood needed to start a new war, putting the shifters and the Whiskeys in danger.
But going home isn’t that easy. There’s a lot of trust that needs to be rebuilt, but with the stakes so high, Paige has to try.
If that wasn't enough, her grandmother is going senile. Also,, her fire-starter niece is hitting puberty, her bard nephew still hasn’t learned how to control his voice, and her demon-hunting boyfriend is still learning how to control his shift. There's no safe haven for the Whiskeys.
So many enemies. So little time to regroup. How is Paige going to keep the Whiskeys safe?
A Barrel of Whiskey A Whiskey Witches Novel By: S.M. Blooding Narrated by: Kalinda Little This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I think this is the best one so far! I really enjoyed this book. So many surprises and changes in here that kept the book hopping and fresh. So much going on now! Wow, I can't tell you about any of it due to spoilers just that it is exciting, full of adventure, action, and magic. (And lots of little surprises!) The narrator was awesome and kept this flowing and blossoming into a powerhouse of a story!
Once again I loved this book in the Whiskey Witches universe. Paige and Dexx travel back to Paige;s childhood home in Texas. They are following the Eastwood matriarch because they got word that she was headed to Texas. Murder, new babies, shifters,, kidnapping and dealing with having Leah around as well as the growing relationship between Dexx and Paige make for an exciting. fast paced story. Each book can be read as a stand alone but also each book builds on the previous stories. This is an incredible world and an awesome installment in that world. Each book is better than the last. I couldn't put it down. The characters are realistic and the family dynamics could be any family, including mine (minus the magick). I can't wait to continue reading this series.

A Barrel of Whiskey is the third installment in the Whiskey Witches books. While they can be read as stand alone books, each one builds upon the next. When the ending comes, it's like getting drawn into a paranormal soap opera because you don't want it to stop. You want it to just keep going and going and going. The characters are extremely well thought out and well written. I love that the author has not just stuck with witches in these books, but has included paranormals of all kinds including vampires and shifters. I highly recommend starting this series from book one in order to start the addiction from the beginning of Paige's story rather than the middle.
Whiskey Witches Origins: S M Blooding, The Demon Whiskey - Has an overview, which I appreciate knowing what the book is about before reading it. Although I was disappointed with the last part of Whiskey Witches, I decided to read TDW. This book can be read after or before WW, without any spoilers. Well written, with realistic dialog and an interesting plot. By realistic, I don't mean vulgar language, since nowadays that's considered the real way to talk. This book is heavy with vulgar language, which I found distracting in both books, and caused me to start skimming after a few chapters. But at least the English out weights the profanity. The author and I butted heads, and while we agreed to disagree, we found we had similar backgrounds. I found Blooding a nice and funny lady through our emails. Minor editing needed. I contacted the author to review her books after reading Whiskey Witches. 4*
S M Blooding, Whiskey Witches #1 - Intense. This well written, interesting story hits the floor running and doesn't stop until the last quarter of the story. The characters are believable and the twisting plot keeps the reader immersed in reading until the last 25%. The book then got boring and silly in places. Unfortunately, WW is heavy with vulgar language, which distracted me in places. I do credit the author with some restraint, since there could have been more profanity. Minor editing needed. This is my first book by this author and I will be reading The Demon Whiskey. 4*
S M Blooding, Blood Moon Magick #2 - The stories keep getting better. Another well written, intriguing, fast paced book. The suspense filled storylines keep the reader immersed in the pages, making it hard to put the book down. The characters grow more with each story and the new characters are just as interesting. Ms. Blooding does an excellent job with her vivid descriptions and action scenes; you're actually there with the characters. Kinda hard when you've got a good imagination and everything is clear; makes ya lazy. More paranormals add to the mix, adding a good depth to the series. Needs editing. 4*
M Blooding, Barrel of Whiskey #3 - I know why I love this series, the Whiskeys reside in Texas. Not really, it helps, but the author does a great job with her well written storylines and interesting characters. The plot rides like a rollercoaster out of control; the pace is fast and there's nonstop action. The characters, good and bad, make this, amongst other things, a difficult book to put down. Vivid descriptions are the norm for this author. Needs editing. 4*
S M Blooding, Witches of the West #4 -I love that I got to chain read the last three books. I never got tired of the well written, intriguing storylines; the interesting characters; and the fast paced action. Ms. Blooding is an artist with her vivid descriptions and rollercoaster plots, which make her books difficult to put down. Read them in order for the best entertainment. Needs editing. 4* Whiskey Witches Origins End.
WARNING 18+ Paranormal Action Romance Shifters Demons Angels Witches This is book 3 in the series "Whiskey Witches: Season 1 {Origins}" I recommend to read them all in order starting with the first season so that you have a better idea what is happening and events that they are talking about. Paige and Dexx are back. This time in Texas staying with Paige's family. There are twists through out the story. Paige and Dexx are raising her best friend since school's baby who one day will be a prophet. There are angels, demons and other supernaturals wanting to either kill him or have him in their custody cause of who he will be when older? Can she discover who killed her best friend Heather? She receives temporary custody of her twelve year old daughter Leah. Can she get custody of Leah for good or does her mother get to keep custody? Can she stop a war? Create a new treaty between the Whiskeys and the shifter communtiy? Does her family stay in Texas or do they relocate to Oregon or another state? Plus lots more action happening that involves her family, shifters. Like the others in the series starting from book 1 in "Whiskey Witches: Origins" there are many twists that are happening and Paige is questioning herself still not trusting her instincts and self especially when it involves her family. The first season: Origins contains the following books in order: Whiskey Witches, Blood Moon Magick, Barrel of Whiskey, Witches of the West Second season: Shiftings/ Red Star Division contains the following books in order: Big Bad Djinn, Bear Moon, Desert Shaman, Lizard Wizard, Grizzly Attraction, Whiskey on the Rocks Sven Seven Tails Crossover contains the following books in order: Double Double Demon Trouble, Mirror Mirror Demon Rubble, Dead Demon. . .Die

I just don't have enough words to express how much I love this series. If only I could find a Dexx all my own. He and Paige are just perfect together, even with their flaws. They just fit. Besides having such a wonderful sense of humor, Dexx fits with the rest of the Whiskey clan. As they get close to home Dexx sets off the local shifter pack's territory alarms. That first meeting with the regional Alpha made me laugh more than once. Now that Leslie has had the baby, she wants her sister home, no, she needs her sister home. Alma is more comfortable with Paige's gift but she's not so good with Dexx being a shifter. It is terrific that Paige isn't even home a whole day and she already becomes involved at her old job. Shifters are being attacked and the Whiskey's are being persecuted by their town. I have so many things that I loved about this part of the story, but everything is connected and there is no way to express everything I loved without spilling some major spoilers. Bobby and Leah will make life with Paige and Dexx much more interesting. As if it's not crazy enough already. Merry Eastwood is in Texas and so is Rachel. What they didn't know was the Blackwells were there too. So, the war has begun and it's getting more involved. From Colorado to Texas to Oregon the Whiskeys are working on making friends and allies for the final showdown with Merry. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
rcvd an advanced reader copy from Booksprout for giving my two cents. we continue paige's journey in which now she is on her way to Texas! when her and dexx enter the state, he automatically shifts and then they are surrounded by shifters, who know who she is. they are allowed to enter their territory with a meeting to take place at a later date. paige is finally home after 5 years...she feels a sense of peace but yet a sense of regret. her sister leslie is happy to see her along with the kids and new nephew. paige connects with her old boss, who needs her help on some cases. when looking into it, she is told of a recent murder....her bff growing up, who just had a baby. the next thing paige knows, there is an angel in their house with a baby....and that baby is the next prophet and the angels want him dead....and the safest place is for him to be under paiges care. on top of all that, rachel, her traitorous mother stops by unannounced with Leah to drop her off.....interesting turn of events. paige has to look into her friends murder, keep a newborn baby safe, help the shifters, figure out what her so-called mother is up to, and somehow get to know her 12 year old daughter...no problem!
So I reviewed the first two books in the Whiskey Witches series, and am now having the chance to listen and review the third. This is my "I liked it but" review. It started out strong and exciting, with a best friend's murder, and a special baby to be protected and hidden from those who would do harm. Then there's the but. About half of the book was dealing with Paige's wallowing in self-pity and lots and lots of family drama. It was getting to be too much. But finally, in the last couple of hours of the book, it got exciting and intense. Kidnapping, family attacks, death threats, the ultimate test, and learning more about their magic. It ends with a "we're coming for you" attitude but I'm not super convinced we should forgive or team up with those that were behind it all. So I kind of have mixed feelings but it sounds like the fourth book is going to be epic. I'm enjoying the narrator like I had in the previous book. Overall 3.5 stars.

There are no words to describe the wonders of the Whiskeys.
This book just like the first 2 books in the series is amazing, stupendous and mind blowing. The twists & turns are amazing and unthinkable. Paige, Dexx, Leslie, Leah and the other kids are so dynamic and growing in power with every book.
One of the best series that I've come across this year, S.M.Blooding has done a wonderful job with this series.

Barrel of Whiskey by S. M. Blooding is an enchanting read that tells the story of a visit to Paige Whiskey’s witch family who lives in Texas. I really loved the story which is unusual with a great variety of paranormal creatures and situations which make it a great story! This book is full of magic, mystery, and plenty of excitement. This book is a can be read alone but it is tied to the Whiskey Witches Universe series. Any reader who enjoys a book with magic and mystery will love this book as much as I did. Barrel of Whiskey is a magical read!
My review is based on the Audiobook. Once again the Author does not dissapoint. I love the Whiskey Witches stories. They are a dysfunctional family of witches that fight and love fierce. The various types of magic and creatures in this book is great. It is a fast paced read that keeps you engaged from the start. The narrator did a fabulous job bringing the story and characters to life. I look forward to reading/listening to more in this series.
Wow another amazing Whiskey Witches story and this is book 3 of the Origins series. There is more trouble with Merry Eastwood she wants war so Paige will do everything that she can to stop it but her family isn’t safe and Paige has to try to help her niece and nephew plus her grandmother isn’t doing too well either so Paige has her hands well and truly full. Amazing story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
Merry Eastwood is in Texas. With the treaty broken, it may give her cause to start a war against the shifters and the Whiskeys. Paige is trying her best to keep them all safe, but with her niece beginning to get her fire powers, her nephew unable to control his bard voice, and her boyfriend is still having trouble controlling his shifts, she is finding difficult to maintain everyone's safety! Booksprout review copy, my opinions.
Paige and Dexx head back home to Texas but all is not well in the Whiskey world. New characters, new allies and the return of old evils make this book a real page-turner. I love the Whiskey witches and the way the series is developing.

Barrel of Whiskey is book three of the series and they just get better and better. The story is great, the characters are complex and interesting and the author does an fantastic job with the descriptions. Paige is back in Texas and as always crazy things start happening. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this captivating series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Although this is the third book in this series, it's the first one that I've read. This is a thrilling action packed adventure, with interesting characters and lots of action. I plan to read more of this series. Check it out for a great read!
I really MUST find time to read book 1! This is Book 3 in the series, takes place in Texas, has some adult content, and takes a LONG, full day to read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hard to see her be so indecisive when it comes to her family. Also frustrating to see her running around putting out fires but never even planning to buy a fire extinguisher. Sven wasn’t in this book which was a bit of a surprise.
A LOT happens in this book on multiple fronts. But the real kicker is the ending which clearly shows that family is not always what you would choose but hey you’re stuck with them anyway

I just found this series a couple of days ago, I devoured them all within a couple of days and I'll just say WOW, if you like paranormal you'll love this. The story line is phenomenal, the charaters lovable and some hatable (is that a word? If not it needs to be), it keeps you guessing and wanting to flip the next page to find out what in the hell is going to happen next. I just found this Author with this series and I'm a new fan! I hope you give it a shot and like it as much as I did! I know this book just released but I'm already impatiently/patiently waiting for the next one to get here.
There's so much going on for Paige in this edition. She's not supposed to talk to the shifters, oops... too late, her anger over losing five important years has come home to roost, her best friend is murdered, her daughter has come back, and her mother is up to her old tricks. The Whiskey family is coming together with the shifters and someone isn't happy. A great read. I enjoy Paige's thought processes. It's like getting a first hand look inside your own head, for everyone to see. Lol.
Blooding gives us a face paced action filled adventure that you don’t know what kind of curveball she will throw in there next. Paranormal communities keeps growing in each book to this series, and so does my love for the characters! In this adventure we are heading back to Texas with Paige and Dex. It hold so much uncertainty and contains so many surprises with each turn of the page, that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I most certainly didn’t expect that ending whoa! Now to dive on in to the next book because I can not get enough of these Whiskey Witches!
An action packed book 3rd in the series. This book introduces the entire Whiskey line, in addition, the local pack of shifters to the Whiskey family home in Texas. The treaty is explained and the other powerful witch covens involved in the treaty become known. This book has a new treaty being drawn up with the Whiskey witches and local shifter pack and the meeting of the Blackman Witches via a test to Paige. Awesome book.
